This mod replaces original trees on the track with 3D ones using TreeFX.

installation : follow readme included in the archive.
I think this will be the final one.
I will try to add a lighter version with less trees in the same package.
Expect a release very soon!
I'm reworking the mod for this track, with the new trees, and looking to improve performance.
There are 39 425 trees in this version (already reduced from the 57 537 trees detected initally).
Min FPS is around 110 in one heavy spot. Not too bad considering the density.
I will try to release it before the end of the week, here and on racedepartment.

Updated some tree models.
I tried to adjust tree density but for now performance doesn't change much in choke points.

Here are the trees I have been working on lately.
I'm considering releasing a pack with the initial TreeIt files, the Blender "intermediate" files and the "final" tree files for Assetto Corsa converted with the CSP internal tool.
I also plan to post a tutorial of sorts, describing the process I use to create and convert the trees from TreeIt.
I can't say when though, as I also want to update existing mods and create new ones, and have limited time to do all this.
Added more tree models, min FPS is now 130.
I will adjust tree density before release (hopefully soon)

Added two new tree models in the mix, same total number of trees (26 499).
Min FPS went up from 110 to 120 :)

I'm reworking on this track with my latest trees.
This is a first try with all the trees (26 499 in total)
Performance is varying heavily (from 110 to 180 fps), I will try to correct it by altering tree density in choke points.
I'll also try to add more variety, and maybe some color too :)

I reworked some of the trees foliage texture, I am quite proud of the result :)
I think this version will be the one to be released, hopefully soon.

Most problems have been adressed, and performance seems OK.
Some trees still have the wrong size compared to original track layout, but I find it alright as it is.
Expect a release soon :)

As the title implies, this is work in progress.
- Some trees are absent or have the wrong size compared to the original ones
- Some trees are too densely placed, thus flickering in the far distance (2D panes)
- Performance is quite low in some places

I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I will try to add a few other tree models before release.
I still have to produce several different tree models (and their model and color variations) to suit my needs for any track. Once this backgroud work is done I will be able to produce and release mods faster.

I chose this spot on the Brands Hatch track for its heavy tree density, making it a good performance indicator.
Technical details : RTX3080, screen res. 2560x1440, shadows res. 2048p
N.B : shadow resolution has a huge performance impact with TreeFX
I was having a hard time figuring out how to get good in-game performance with the tree models I created in TreeIt.
Turns out the main factor is not the tree's total polycount but rather the number of leaves.
Now I aim at improving leave distribution by increasing branch / branchlet count.
The video shows the result with a rather heavy tree density, but still maintaining rather good performance.

Yet to be tested in AC, but I hope the lower polycount (previous were 5K) will increase performance.
I will try to post a tutorial (here or on RD, and maybe a Youtube video) on how I convert tree models from TreeIt to Assetto Corsa compatible format.

I tried Maple valley FM7 after seeing the update from Mike08. Tree shapes are a bit weird (not classic Y-tree) and the program doesn't work as intended, I will have to update the detection algorithm.
In the meantime I will try Circuit du Laquais and Toscana (the latter looks beautiful).
Also still trying to create cool-looking and low-poly trees with treeIt...

At first I have been using the sample trees provided with TreeIt, and now I'm starting to create them from scratch! I'm still using the textures (bark and leaves) provided with TreeIt though.
This way I can fine tune the shape, style, and more importantly the polycount!
I have a few map conversions under way, I will release them as soon as possible.

For this release I adjusted tree density ( 15 843 3D trees ). Performance has increased too, as well as LOD scaling.
