Monster XXXperiment Discussion
Hey everyone!
I'm opening a discussion because I want some thoughts and opinions about Monster XXXperiment and wanted to hear some of all of your possible ideas about the future of the game.
As of this update there isn't nearly as many game breaking bugs as we had a 9 months ago, the character artwork is currently getting remastered, but theres one thing left that's still bugging me and that's the gameplay.
For some time now I felt as though the gameplay is boring and repetitive which Is true there isn't much "Management" in our management game but I have been discussion with my secondary programmer to possible address that issues.
Quest/Bounties
One thing we talked about adding is Quest/Bounties which would be called "Research Findings" what this would do is have a list of unlockables that the player could unlock by playing around with the Kin's environment settings, giving them different diets, possibly buying new items to use on the Kin etc. Unlocking a research finding would have a scene for that specific finding and Karen giving the player bonus pay for the discovery.
Town
Another we've talked about is starting to add the Town. We discussed separating funding from the player's actual paycheck allowing the player to spend their hard earned cash from work. Buying gifts or going on dates with your Favorite Kin, taking part in activities such as betting and gambling, etc.
Active Management
We've also talked about making changes to how management is done adding more layers to it so you all the players feel more in control when tending to Kin. We've talked about possibly having a Kitchen Staff that you would use funding to teach them new styles of cooking for the Kin's diet instead of having all of the options immediately available. We talked about maybe instead of having the room fully built the room only has a base form and then through finding out what the Kin likes the player can request that certain items or decorations is added to the room. Stuff along these lines.
Want to hear from you
Monster XXXperiment is as much you all's game as it is ours and we don't want to take major steps in trying to change that game if you all like it for what it is right now. Currently I feel as though we're losing room to expand and that now may be the time to start expanding and trying experimental features out to see what would be best for the project.
To ease any minds we will also be continuing our current workflow but we planned to release this new experimental Monster XXXperiment to Nebula Tier and above supporters to play first and foremost if the ideas I've laid out here is positive.

Hey everyone!
I'm sorry for the delay of Monster XXXperiment's update the new update will be released on September 1st. With no further push back. (Note to Self never try to add a brand new feature the literal day before the update in the future).
And as usual for all of our lovely Patrons. If you were donating within the months of July or August you will receive this update in a message.
Thank you all so much! We're trying our best here still pretty hectic after having to change pretty much all of the games character artwork.

Sorry for the delay it's been a long time coming but Monster XXXperiment v1.7 is finally on the horizon.

Full Delay Explanation:
We've been very hard at work remastering all of the games artwork and our efforts will continue over the next following months.
To explain the delay, two months ago the original primary artist for the game had to be removed from the studio. This of course left a void in the art department at first we originally intended to just have the other two artist that work on the game continue where he left off but we soon realized that the style mis-match would be just to extreme.
While it was a detriment to us funding wise we decided to instead focus instead on remastering the older artwork so that the new characters coming with the next Kin update don't look completely out of place next to the old artwork.
Over the next few months we will continue to do artwork remasters as we continue to work towards releasing the next set of Kin so I hope you all appreciate the hard work and the new art I promise that new Kin are coming soon!

Price Change:
With the changes to the artwork and since development will be reaching a year in a few months we've made the decision to increase the price of the Itch.io version of the game from $5 to $10. Monster XXXperiment was never intended to be $5 forever and the price was always planned to be increased with time as new milestones are reached. And I feel as though we are close to reaching that first milestone for the first price increase considering the art quality of the game is improving, we're going to have 8 different characters in game soon, and the game at it's current point is becoming more and more polished.
I hope you all don't get to angry at us because of this but it's all for the health of the game and the studio, we have plenty of wonderful talent working on the game and for us to continuing improving the game to make it the game we want in our vision that you all will love to play this price increase will do nothing but good!
This price change will take effect after the following 3 conditions are met:
- All of the game's artwork is finished being remastered.
- We've reached the 1 year development mark (October 2021).
- There is no longer any major bugs outstanding bugs to deal with in the current Pre-Alpha version of the game.
So you all have time to get the full version of the game for $5 while it's available!

Next Kin Update:
Speaking of delays because of everything that happened before our Kin update keeps being delayed further and further back and we apologize to all of you for that! Don't worry the next Kin Update is planned for September if everything goes well!
Currently the writing for the next set of Kin is 25% Complete.
The Pixel Assets is 30% Complete.
The Sprite Artwork is 60% Complete, both of the artist have been paid they're just catching up on the art remaster and will be completing these characters over the next few weeks.
And that's about it for now I will continue to post updates on Patreon and Discord to keep you all up to date. But please don't be surprised if the Kin Update is pushed back until October while we wait for the funding to become available to finish off everything that is needed wish us luck!

Since all of the artwork is getting remastered in game we have decided to hold off on relesing the CG's for Vallory and Alek until after their remaster is complete. This is to avoid us doing extra work and causing further delays in the future. Thank you for understanding.

Hello Researchers!
It's been a long time since I've done one of these but since we have so many new supporters it seems appropriate!
For our older supporters you all should know by now that we update Monster XXXperiment in 2 phases. Our main update which involves the inclusion of 2 new characters to research, and our mid-patch update which usually includes the CG for the newly added Kin and any bug fixes or adjustments to the game people spoke about from last update.
This loop was however broken for 2 months because of a pass issue within the studio that we have finally moved past. But even though we may be 2 months back our goals still haven't changed.
And some good news, I believe that saves should actually be working for at least the next few updates going forward because none of the fixes we have to adjust are actually in the core codebase of the project!
So the following is what you should suspect coming in July:
The start of the art overhaul - As some of you are aware I have been posting before and after shots of character artwork over the last few weeks. This is because as an effort to make our drawn artwork consistent over the entire project we've created a new artist pipeline!
What is an artist pipeline? Pretty much instead of artist working on their own pieces until completion, multiple artist work on each part of a piece until it's completion! This not only achieves the effect of all artwork being overall consistent in it's style in the game, but it also means that the artist can work on a lot more artwork at once!
So please bear with us as we begin to implement this artwork change to improve the games overall look.
The CG's for Vallory and Alek - As you can see they don't have them now, so next update should also be featuring the CG's for Vallory's and Alek's sex scenes!
Vallory's confusing diet- We know and we hear you we'll be fixing the confusion on Vallory's diet next update as well.
Some bug fixes - No crashing bug this go around but some stubborn unicode bugs are laying around that we'll be stomping out.
That's about all for now and I will keep you all up to date as more planned changes are confirmed!
