This one wasn't actually meant to be as clean or developed as it was, but I felt a little stuck between a rock (too much work) and a hard place (not enough work) with this month's uploads. Anyway, this was a fairly streamlined process and displays why image 1's sketch is not meaningfully different from the lineart, whereas for image 2 it does differ. Major difficulties on this one pertain to the perennial issue of perspective, I nearly gave up on the bowl but hopefully the en...

Sofie's relatively spontaneous modelling session with Xug proved to be a fruitful avenue into the industry, and her success generated interest from other Orcish productions, amongst which included an offer to model human plugsuits from a notable distributor on Dongrok II.
Sofie however was soon to find out that these garments were marketed for a particular type of human, and put they really put the plug in plugsuit...

Comprehensive documentation throughout the drawing process amongst all parts, a little bit tough because there really isn't a whole lot of material to go for with this character but I think she turned out bright and pleasant. Signing this by announcing my retirement from painting the interior of Stormwind Palace ever again.
I hope you find it interesting.

A gift from the High King.
This month's main feature sees Taelia Fordragon sent off to the Stormwind throneroom to win favour, no expense spared!
Usual versions available in the attachment.
Enjoy.

Some of these went very quickly, some did not. Sometimes it's difficult to remember to document the process when you are specifically trying to draw for educational purpose, as you are concentrating very hard and getting into a flow, but I persevere.
Fairly basic but I hope you enjoy flicking through these.

All drawn from reference.
Some practice drawings I did on some hard angles, and bits of anatomy I'd like to draw better and therefore, you guessed it, need to practice. Steep camera angles on specific parts, and backs primarily.
Just the one image as this picture doesn't separate by layer.

Sometimes the hardest part of being a Hero isn't fighting, but going on vacation.
Is giving into the ultimatum of a baddie ever acceptable? Well for the low low price of a beach vacation with Raven this particular troublemaker promised to stop whatever villainy he was getting up to, so long as she plays along to the tune of his demands...

Commissions are underway and you will see those rolling out over the next few months, I would like to hold some sort of vote if circumstances permit, perhaps a Patron's Pick but in a more limited scope (previous options returning for coloured sketches) as those aforementioned commissions are going to be hogging the main feature spots, and if you're up to date on your Katalore, I'm s...

3 whole drafts before I settle on the fourth and final one. I felt like the drafts either didn't capture the mood, or energy of what I was going for, or just looked a bit too familiar with some recent publications. Watch as I fumble around desperately trying to recreate the visuals of the previous entry in this series, successfully or not is up to you.
Enjoy, and again I hope you liked this miniseries.

Converting this into Alexstrasza went quite smoothly and I found a couple of little details to add as it went along. A comfortable process with some editing on both characters for example, as well as having to reposition some rope but otherwise easy going and fairly unremarkable, other than one image declaring my adoration for armoured bikinis. Bring back armoured bikinis blizzard.
Enjoy.

You won't serve the Horde? Have it your way.
Mcdonalds dragon, your winner of February's poll getting roped (literally rather than figuratively) by a dilligent peon-apprentice of the powerful hex-mistress Debb'ie.
(I don't know enough about warcraft lore to actually explain this one).
The usual compliment of images in the attachment below, enjoy.

I hope you like looking at bubblegum latex dresses.
In depth colouring dominates this one as that was the focus of the image, though some other features to do with drafting and facial refinement are present too.
Enjoy.

Modelled by an unnamed original (Not Pulsara surprisingly).
Someone sent me Evanlee187's very interesting guide on how to paint latex, and I just had to give it a try. I think it went decently, but I have a lot of room to improve. I didn't use an actual reference for this (besides the guide itself) which is not a clever thing to do if you're trying to learn, but that's how it went.
I hope you like it, and I hope it produces better shiny material results in future.

Above is a WIP depicting a placeholder figure being tied up, and so we will have a poll on who is going to fill that spot. I have included a reference image of the four options available (Name/Franchise), and finally the decree upon which this concept is based.
Voting will be distributed in individual polls
Voting will run for approximately 24 hours
Patrician & Familia tiers may vote

Who's ready for funky angles? I spent a lot of time drawing this one 'diagonally' as I felt like it was a more interesting and dynamic use of the canvas, as I really wanted to convey something spontaneous and energetic. This series sees a few changes to the composition as I felt like the initial draft looked a little bit weightless, which would be okay for something sci-fi in certain conditions, but unfortunately it just wasn't what I was going for here. You also get to see a...

What I'd like to do is trial a suggestion pool where I provide a draft, and you tell me who you think would look good here, and once we have a list I present your choices in the usual style of general poll.

Some trial and error for what should be a fairly straightforward and simple picture. A bit of repainting at the end for the alternate outfit, some facial restructuring in a few parts, and some varying approaches to geometric shapes and patterns: Take a look inside and see when the documentation gets a target lock because I got caught tracing! 😯
Guess I'm getting sent to a penal squadron for fake artists...

I drew Tifa's top half. Had to rework her face a bit whilst navigating how I wanted to colour this one as I am still getting used to some new-ish watercolour brushes but I am happy with the result for the time I invested in it, a very nicely balanced proportion of input and output, along with a fairly simple and happy work process documented here.
Enjoy.

What is the difference between rendered and coloured sketches?
Coloured includes what I'd call basic colouring - just a few different tones per colour.
Rendered includes more expansive and complex colouring, more like main features but not as neat - They started life as coloured sketches and I worked on them for too long 😪

A bit of flip flopping on this one, I couldn't decide on how much colour I wanted on various parts at various times, as well as having a bit of difficulty on deciding colour values and the backdrop. Consequently there is a bit of back and forth but I think I was able to strike the balance I wanted for a dark, dimly lit crappy apartment block.
I hope you find this process interesting and enjoy looking through this album.

Out of the bars and clubs, through the back streets; dark corridors wind and retreat to the doorsteps of alien living blocks and apartments. Lights flicker, footsteps shuffle, and distant elevators squeek and groan. The control pad warbles, and the door begins to open. One corner of the galaxy feels much like its opposite.
Sketch, Lines, and Coloured versions available in the attachment.
