It was a lot of fun concepting this one out and turning it into a full image. Also, I bought myself a new tool finally (Clip Studio Paint) which should be easier to use than the previous art. Lines and coloring might look different going forward too, as I have more textured brushes to play with.
Astute observers might notice the sketch was completely redrawn. That's to try fit the sheer size of a proper lion in there and get a better view of the interesting details.

Hopefully mixing the WIPs for two image sets isn't too confusing.
There weren't a lot of large upending changes to these two images, but that's more because I forgot to save out more work-in-progress steps to these.
With Flapperoo, there isn't a pure "flat" color version. I used that one as an excuse to shade almost immediately.
With Roo'd Beverage, I spent too much time obsessing with detailing that I have more of a clean sketch than any interesting experiments.

For a while, I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with this image. It's been lingering in streams, and I ran out of improvements that felt like they were adding anything to the piece. The image feels done, and I have few ideas for a backstory with this character.
At first I was thinking of trying out Adopts, but then I started writing.

Yeah, a lot of them are just continuing from last month, but without a lot of progress.
I think for some of them, it means that they are actually 'done', yet don't feel completely 'finished' to me. I need to review some of these and decide what more can be added without "breaking" the image (be sure to check for an extra 'alt' in the attachment too!). Last Monday's stream, while working on "Sideways Kangaroo", I had a little extra time toward the end, so I decided to put in a little something extra. "No Nut Mewtwo" was tied for second place, and it's far enough along completion and the timing of the month was perfect that I couldn't pass it up.

My goal with this is to maybe add a few panels for setup and then shading. Haven't decided on a final panel (I secretly like the idea of ending on an incomplete note as is...) I'm not sure yet about color, but I imagine high contrast black and white might be more punchy.

Honestly, the image started as an innocent joke about social media in general, but since 'Pecker' recently changed hands, the sticky situation there is getting more messy. Probably best if I get this image out before that site blows its load and everybody floods out or inserts themselves into other social media sites.

While it's great to complete something that was sitting on the edge of completion, it doesn't leave a lot of progress snapshots to peek at. However, I still had initial sketches to reverse engineer into their own pieces.

As promised, I made some time after updating both 'Brudder's to then take a crack at this bad guy.
Unfortunately, this was a speedpaint and there are no hidden secrets (it's all hanging out there with him!)

Some progress shots while working on this year's 'Halloween' image.
I don't have too many words to contribute to the process, though some personal notes.
I love DooM 2016, but it's less likely that I'll produce a 'complete' image like I did for the I.M.P. s of 1993.
The ultra-violent canon of the modern games doesn't fit as snugly into a backstory about horny hellspawn getting kinky with humans on a moon base. None of the canon does, but the old pixel art is easier to pretend ...
