Dear Patrons, again huge thanks for your continued support! Here is a small gift for you. While we figure out how to upload properly to Git the new upcoming 3D TPS demo, you can download and test it, as well as the project itself. Please don't distribute it publicly!

We ran behind a little for April, so we are beginning proposal collecting for May, in order to catch up.
As you are probably aware, both inspector, animation editor, 2D editor and several Godot components are undergoing a lot of improvements in order to significantly increase usability in 3.1. Once they are done, the tutorials missing (voted here) will be done based on those.
Here are the results for April 2018:
Tutorial/Demo:

I modified the results post with information about the progress. Most features are being worked on, either be me or someone else (usually with my help). Most related to rendering will be done on 3.2 with the Vulkan rewrite.

Will definitely try to get up to date on the promised tutorials as soon as I can.

I'm quite behind schedule for many of these, so after working on the new AnimationTreePlayer next week, full focus will go to work on the patreon features/tutos/demos. Thanks for waiting, as most will be done before 3.1 is out.

After this one (the May one will start immediately after this one, so we compensate for the delay), I will focus on catching up to not done yet proposals and features during May, so as much as possible is included in Godot 3.1.

You did it! Thanks to your generous support, we reached our third Patreon goal and I (Rémi) will now be able to dedicate my full-time to Godot as project manager and representative!
I wrote some insights on what Godot's free and open source project management entails (from my perspective), how I handled it so far and what are our plans for the future (and my job assignments).
Check it out on the blog (link above or below, not sure how this will turn out as email notification ;)).

Hi guys! proposal vote form is up! As pretty much most entries in tututorials/demos are the same in the submissions, and the fact many just request for documentation...(yes, you guys were right, while the concept was different, in practice it was not), I decided to just do a single category: tutorial/demo/doc. Will pick the first two that win, which I believe makes the most sense.

This post explains how the voting system works, so we can make sure to clear all doubts and link to it on future polls.
Legal
This system has been proposed by the lawyers from Software Freedom Conservancy, so the way voting works is compatible with their status as non profit charity. It must be understood from the start that voting is not a "pay for features" system, but an attempt made by the core developers to generously give back something to our Patrons who have made...

Here's another advance for you guys. Lightmapper is almost done!
It can do lightmapping in two different ways, either voxel cone tracing (similar technique to GIProbe), which is quick but less accurate.. or more traditional lightmapping doing lots of ray probing, which is slower but looks more correct.
Here's a comparision.

As promised in the Patreon rewards, pledgers would see many previews and advances for new features first, it's just that we haven't been adding much recently given 3.0 is huge.
A large amount of users requested that an actual lightmapper is added to 3.0, given GIProbe requires relatively higher end hardware. It will be a rare last-minute addition, so here's some progress for it.
An UV unwrapper has been added that can generate unique UVs on the secondary channel on import automatically.<...

Many of you know probably that Patreon changed their fee structure. They did without asking us, creators. The new structure punishes small backers heavily by forcing them to pay an extra $0.35c.
In larger pledges the difference is minimal, but Patreon has a lot of backers in the $1-3 range who pledge on dozens to hundreds of project, and this punishes them directly.
As a result, we've noticed that (both in our project and pretty much all other projects on Patreon), many users in th...
