I've been watching the movie "Poor Things" last Friday with my friends, and it is far from being the usual glamorous American blockbuster.

When I'm in the presence of these beauties, I'm unable to appreciate the privilege, because I'm concentrating on the task at hand.

I believe in this photo I used the mighty Nikon 180mm f2.8 ED AI-s, a hefty beastie piece of glass capable of impressive results.
Just look at the out of focus golden jewellery on Chiara, and see how the light reflections have a magical glow about them that you could never appreciate with your naked eye.
At the same time, both eyes of Anna are in sharp focus, and we can really look inside her young soul.

This house in Merate has been emptied before selling it to the new owner.
Not sure where every single item has gone, but nothing has been left there, which is good because I think the renovation works must have been started by now, and nothing would have survived the builders.

Unfortunately Mary was very conservative with nudity, too much for my tastes, so it is unlikely we're ever going to work again together.
Still, we did a good job and I'm happy about the photos.

This solid stainless steel table in the kitchen was a welcome addition in the house of my fellow photographer Roberto in Brescia.
It was so solid Jiulia could stand on it, even I could stand on it, and possibly both together as well!

I love this photo of Martina from our shooting 16°, from December 2022.
I've finished extracting all of the pictures from this set, and I will start retouching them, but this photo is really special for me.
She is not trying to seduce us, she is a beautiful adult woman appearing to be hiding behind a wall stark naked.
This attitude is incongruous, it is also like a breach in her usual armour of perfection, maybe it is even a genuine insight about her personality...

Having lots of room to play with is one of the best sensations a photographer can get, of course, provided you also have a nicely naked girl to place in that space.
Even better if you have a puddle to create a reflection and add even more depth to the scene.
I know Sugar is relatively small in the frame and we're not appreciating her beauty to the full, but I still love to see her slender figure lost in this empty space, just for a change...

Navigli is an iconic area in Milano with waterways, where the glamorous pubs are welcoming the young people in search of fun.
This apartment was placed in the middle of this neighbour and, even if it didn't look anything special, it must be of great value because of its position.

"Don't stare at people", they are telling us right from a young age, "it is not ok".
This rule applies also when the subject is not facing us, like linda in this photo...
Photography came to our rescue, giving us the opportunity to look at people for as long as we wishes, without embarrassing anybody.

Light is a magic component in photography, and can really emphasise your subject, but you have to respect its rules.
In this photo everything is perfectly detailed by the light, right down to the texture of the skin.
Only the beautiful eyes of Martina are in shadow, which is a shame, but in this instance it had to be like this, to add drama and mystery to the scene.
Light knows perfectly well what it's doing, as a photographer you just need to have faith in its magic.

On Christmas holidays I visited a crib exposition in a church.
The Nativity scenes I appreciated the most were those that conveyed a sense of depth.
From elements close by in the foreground, to the very distant mountains and sky.
Also in the photos I make it is useful to introduce depth like this window, that is giving a glimpse of the backyard.

As promised yesterday, here is Jiulia in a very similar position to the one of Anna, and on the very same sofa.
I love how this room is capable of having always a great and consistent light, whatever the season.
In the case of Anna, I had to remember to shut the door on the left of the frame, so as not to overcome the shadows and ruin the atmosphere.
The single window light source on the right is really important to valorise the volumes of these pretty bodies.

I deliberately decided to leave the stretch marks on the skin of Sugar, because I think they look good and they are part of her growing up as a woman.
I would argue these natural marks are even more relevant than the tattoos, which are her personal choice.

I'm not aware of the percentage of fat in Martina's body, I know that she eats pretty recklessly, though.
But from this photo, there is not a single gram of her body I would ever consider removing.
Especially her bottom is arching in the most delightful and unique way, with just the right combination of firmness and roundness.

Every respected nude model ends up being part of this tribe, especially when working with me, because I don't want them to wear shoes, unless for safety concerns.
Lingerie, high heels shoes and make up are all seduction weapons that I try to avoid in my photography, because I enjoy the human female body uncontaminated by any added "sugar".

If you're trying to tell a story, you're bound to the likelihood of what you're representing, so with videos you have to justify what you are doing with the before and after frames.
With a photo, being a single frame, you can get away with more contradictions, as long as the result is aesthetically pleasing.
Somewhat photography is more compatible with bullshit that videos in my mind.

As you grow old, you should take care of your health a little bit more, so I'm trying to adopt a more conscious diet.
But, contrary to some of my models that become vegetarian or even vegan (like Ania you can see in today's photo), I'm going on the opposite direction to a more carnivore oriented diet, and especially on the low carb side of things.
Not sure how I can really stay away from sugar in the long run, but at least I want to limit carbohydrate intake for most days in the week.
