Bramley Apple

Leaning out.

Also this time I have a monumental photo of Martina leaning from this balcony, that I'm going to keep for the regular social media feed.
For you I have chosen a more intimate view of Martina, relaxed, with the hands that appear to show a slight embarrassment, with a hint of a smile, the teeth reflecting the setting sun as well as the eyes, and a skew in the composition that accentuate her leaning forward.
I hope this photo can give you the sensation of being on this terrace with Martina...

Just a portrait.

When I am working with these beautiful creatures, I am not thinking too much, I try to go with the tide, and frequently I'm hooked by the eyes of one of my models, and I feel the need to shoot a portrait, even if there is much more on offer.

I also try to avoid light coming from a low angle, to avoid strange and spooky shadows on the model's face.
In this hotel room I had no alternative, but I was lucky enough, because even if the spotlight was too low, it didn't hit the face of Ana ...

Seasonal work.

Yesterday I was explaining why I'm trying to avoid doing more shootings in 2023, but I quickly recap the main 2 reasons here: I've done too many already, and I need to concentrate on the old ones before making new ones.

I'm not sure I will manage to fulfil my resolution, because I can't resist good opportunities, but I must also take into consideration that my work has a seasonal component.

Diminishing returns.

Opening up new revenue sources like DA, is helping supporting my project tenfolds, but Patreon itself is suffering from a small loss, and also DA has stopped growing.
I still think it is a honour to have so many Patrons, and your contribution is still enough to push the project forward, so there is no need to worry!
We are doing a great job together.

Speaking about shootings, I made already 18 this year.
If we exclude the one with Giulia in January, that I'm not allowed to use ...

Hold on tight.

Also this photo benefits from a definite frame inside the photo itself, and Demi is holding on to it, whilst her sight takes us outside the physical frame of the photo, braking the symmetry of the composition.

Like a friar in the solitude of its cell, Sophy appears to be engaged in a ceremony of expiation.
I'm not sure what her sin might have been, but her gracious prostration deserves our forgiveness!

Anywhere.

In 2019 I had the chance to take Martina to special places, but nowadays I'm lucky if I still manage to get a couple of hours of her time whilst she is in Milan...
But we are still making some great pictures together, and we have plenty of memories of the past times.

This was an abandoned building site in Merate, a desolate place for sure, but the magic of light is the same everywhere, and the beauty of Martina is a given quantity.
These two ingredients are sufficient to make sexy...

Door frame.

For this composition with Sugar in the abandoned factory in Carvico, I was helped by the frame of this door between offices.
This model has a beautiful lean body, and the use of the Contax-Zeiss Sonnar T* 85mm f2.8 from a distance is emphasising her proportions without distortions, and helps separating her figure from the background.
Shooting in huge spaces allows me to exploit the best from my lenses and my models at the same time.

Blinded by beauty.

The human eye is more capable to digest light contrasts, compared with a digital sensor, but photographers love to stretch these technical limits with such extreme backlight scenes like this one.
Anyway, however burned out Stefani looks in this photo, she is still an imposing sight, like an angel leading us to paradise.

Learning from mistakes.

The first shooting with Cristiana, is still one of the best we made together.
In the bathroom I had a lot of difficulties focusing and using a flash with a camera that was not meant to work like that, but the pictures in focus are of great quality, so it was worth the effort.

On the edge.

My dear Saudek wall was interpreted very well by Ada, but it had a problem, it was not high enough when she fully stretched her arms.
In this photo you can spot the edge of the upholstery and the wall beneath, it doesn't look too bad, because it is perfectly lined up with the edge of the frame, but it makes the edge of the composition look busier.

Seduction powerhouse.

The sensuality of Anneth is like a raging river, overwhelming, something that can blow up in her own face, because she is still not master of herself and her communicative body.
A simple topless photo of Anneth is extremely powerful, because you can see her mature breast bursting with life and ready for breeding; opposed to a childish face that appear uncomfortable or ashamed about this power.
Maybe it is this contrast that is making her one of the more interesting model on the Italian ...

Throwback to October 2018.

An artist and friend asked me the HD file of a photo posted long ago on Patreon.  
It was part of a long sequence shot with the Leica M240 and the 50mm Summicron lens, it is incredible how I’m still amazed about the quality of this camera and lens every time I look back at my work!
So for today I selected another photo from that sequence, to remind myself to use this camera more, and to remind all of you how Martina was looking amazing in 2018.

Soft touch.

I love my models to be young and fit, possibly athletic, maybe even a little skinny.
But I enjoy also other body types, and Cristiana has one of them.
She is more of a natural body, common, soft and still beautiful, especially when she is relaxing like this on a bed.

SOLD!

The house in Merate, theatre of so many shootings in the past 4 years, is no longer available for my project.
Gone is the 70ties well preserved bedroom, gone is the opportunity to bring cars and motorbikes inside the basement, gone is my personal "Saudek wall".
I'm going to miss this location very much, but I'm satisfied for having used it so extensively in the past years.

Borders.

The studio where I worked with Annalisa was organised in separate areas, each with a specific character.
In this photo you can clearly see the joint between two different areas, and Annalisa is connecting the two situations with her charm.

SOLVED?

Maybe I managed to solve the problem with Patreon with the help of some of you Patrons.

Apparently, setting up the post for "Paid members", instead than for every tier like I did before, you are allowed to see the photos regularly, and probably you're also going to receive the mail notification from Patreon as usual.

So don't feel obliged to "upgrade" your subscription just jet, because I don't think it is necessary.

PROBLEMS WITH PATREON?

Last Thursday I was unable to schedule new posts on Patreon.
I had to set up a number of Tiers like every other creator I know of, even if I still wanted to keep the participation as a free offer.

I’m now able to post, but I’m receiving messages by Patrons that are not allowed to see my contents any more and they are asked to upgrade!

Are you experiencing the same problem?

I have no idea what is Patreon doing, because they are not replying to my help...

My ultimate studio.

This Contax-Zeiss Sonnar T* 85mm f2.8 is not as crisp as the heavy weight Contax-Zeiss Planar T* 100mm f2, but I love how it renders well both in focus and out of focus areas, seamlessly.
It is smooth and consistent even if not exceptional, and it is giving the absolute best now that I've found a proper lens hood.
I particularly like that window in the back, the huge light contrasts... the badass pose of Sugar is doing the rest, in making this a highly refined photo.

I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH PATREON.

Last Thursday I was unable to schedule new posts on Patreon.

Protected.

The naked skin of my models is very sensitive, and gets marked by the slightest provocation.
A wickerwork chair is surely one of the easiest way to leave traces on the silky smooth bottom of Lauretta, so I added a cushion on top for her comfort, but only after she was marked.
I'm not searching for these traces on purpose, but I'm not too bothered by them either, after all it's a proof that my photos are genuine, and that the skin I'm portraying is soft and pliable.

I love to shoot with Martina early in the morning, because she is rested and full of life.
On the other hand, we tried shooting in various moments of the day, and I never had any complain.
This photoshoot in Milano, for example, was done during sunset, and we were both very tired after a long day of work, nevertheless we managed to produce some stunning photos.
She had a go herself with my Leica M, but was not very good at focusing...

Equilibrium.

Of late, while choosing the photos to show you, I find myself struggling between two images, because I can't decide which one is the best.
So today I will show you both.

After some time, I decided the first photo (I'm showing to you in color and BW) is the best of the two, because of the equilibrium.
The pose is unusual, but perfectly balanced and elegant, with nothing out of place.

Theatrical.

Quinn appears to spring out from the silent movie era.
Her body, emphasised stances and even make-up are a clear homage to that period so, maybe, the ideal visual transcription would be the BW copy of the photo.
On the other hand, to fully appreciate the ivory-white skin of her breast, the color version is unbeatable.

Doggy-style.

As I was telling you yesterday, Ana, my brand new model from Sunday, was not keen about the idea of using handcuffs, but was particularly enthusiast and amused about using my collar!
She said: "I will be you dog for today".
And I replied: "As long as I don't have to take you for a walk outside"...

Yesterday I have been shooting in Milano with a brand new model, Ana V.
She had no accommodation that could be used as location for our photoshoot, so I had to book a hotel room on purpose, and this ended up making the whole operation more expensive.
Fortunately, I have my back covered by the generosity of my Patrons and DA subscribers, so I was able to pay the extra money and make it happen.

Jigsaw.

It has been a pleasure to document the development of this beautiful lady for several years, not only of her body, but also of her developing character.
I have loved every step of this discovery process, and I'm happy about the new equilibrium she has reached in this moment, but I hope I can carry on my work also in the future, because she has still so many pieces to add to the puzzle.

Vegetation.

An abandoned house (or a factory for that matter), is soon going to be taken over by vegetation.
It is just a matter of time, and nature is going to reclaim its place on the long run.
Only the active presence of man can slow down the process, but not avoid it altogether.
In the low right corner of this picture, you can see a plant is already trying to get a hold on Ania's leg, as if she was a statue to climb upon.

No more hashtags?

I was worried that Patreon, while renewing the graphics, had also deleted the hashtags, that were so useful to find the models.
I wondered why all renewals had to be decreases in performances, and hoped you'd still going to appreciate my pictures, notwithstanding the changes.
But Hashtags have just been relocated, so we can still appreciate their use, at least for the moment...
