The Next DIY 70's Magazine Synthesizer

so! i have been looking at this synth again this past couple of days, you may remember it from about 9 months ago, as its when i picked it up. but it became a tad convoluted story why i didn't get a video together for it. which involved helping a guy in a zimmer frame accross the road which ended up in an hour of trying to get him home and proceeding to forget the wireless world magazines in his zimmer frame pocket! unfortunately i didn't know where he lived to get them back as a passer by re...

live set london on friday first 3 quarters of the show

hes what the x32 live recording and the go pro captured from friday, unfortunately it cut out before the end. thursday i didnt manage to remember to hit record! which was a shame as technically it turned out a couple of songs were better, the kick drum kept cutting out on friday which took a lot of my concentration. but hey! its like riding a wild pony!

this week there should be a livestream on circuit bending a casio sk5. and also working on the organ stops and also videos on the proto...

PE SYNTHESIZER WORKS + SFX SOUNDS TO USE

success today, VCO 2 is now working (it was the big ceramic timer cap in the integrator part of the oscillator core), nearly 50 percent of the potentiometers have been replaced, and as far as im aware the whole thing is working as it should be. its quite a learning experience about the synthesizer and how it was modified throughout the series how it was actually being rolled out, which means some quite interesting things which i will talk about.

its oscillators are not great, and the vo...

Tour of museum getting it ready for open season

So spending a few days in the next couple of weeks getting the museum to the next level ready for frequent open dates from April the 8th onwards. Obviously will be adding to it here and there as time goes on! But it's nice to get it to a new plateau for a new season. Lots of plans already for the next one (more walls coming down for more space haha) but this is what it's looking like at the minute!

ORGAN Morning Mood Full Less Noise

this is more of a reference for background hiss than anything! as it needs a fair bit of tuning now its been moved all over the shop! that will be in the next vid :). but compare to some of the older recordings from the organ and you will notice, the subtle but important difference in background noise.. there is still a couple of hissing noises which i will remedy, but its a marked improvement.

nearly done with this darn thing! this coming week im hoping to have the console switches don...

Base case Build from start to finish

its done, all the wiring is done and what not. now time to try it. left is to add some commentary and chatting then testing it at the end. next step with kosmo is a couple of utility module pcb's first is the midi drum trigger and wav trigger then onto tackling the polyphonic oddness of unipolar distorting synth voices. trying to get it all tackled and done before the april dates its a tall order but worth a crack!. inbetween getting the circuits designed ill be cracking on next week at the n...

VIVALDI Autumn on Kosmo modular synthesizer

Here we go! the final season. ofcourse there are another 2 pieces to each season, however i think choosing the best part of each was the most realistic to get done! who knows maybe ill get the other parts done at some point. but for now i need to pull Kosmo apart to make a new base case!

you'll notice the autumn and spring posts on Patreon don't have the wav and mp3 downloads yet, thats because they still need a bit of a fiddle with. when i get the videos done for them both i'll d...

Vivaldi - Summer Performed On Kosmo Modular Synthesizer

This past week, i have been finishing the next tune which will be out in a handful of weeks! shooting a video on it, ill let you know and show some of it in a day or so. apart from that, a lot of the projects have been on the back burner a tad, so today i decided to tackle another classical number on kosmo. Its still a bit rough around the edges, ill do a vid in the next few days too, this will go with the rest of the songs! the moonlight sonata, sarabande etc. :)
