This guard house has stood unclaimed by civilization long enough for grass and foliage to take over.
Maybe your players stumble upon it in the forest when they are looking for a place to rest or maybe a lord needs to reclaim this guard post in order to expand their forestry operations safely.

Besides the Blood Rose Cave, which is much smaller, this might be the first cave map we have done and it was definitely interesting. This was another map that was at the top of our last poll too!
This cave entrance quickly splits into two paths, one leading to some high ground ledges, the other leading up to the main chamber where a Cyclops has a massive fire pit. The beast also has crude wooden cages and an area for live stock it has captured.

Some times you just need a massive cave chamber to fill with your own imagination and hopefully this will help!

The Aqueduct was the highest voted map in our latest poll and I was happy to see it there because it is one I have been wanting to do for a while.
This aqueduct runs through rocky terrain making maintenance a hazardous task as many dangerous creatures lurk in these parts.
This would be the perfect spot for an ambush with the narrow passages, elevation changes, and foliage covering the land.

There are 100s of reason why an Aqueduct could be destroyed. A rival nation, bandits, giants, giant bandits, or my person favourite, and earth elemental has been eating it.
No matter the reason, your players now have to travel through more dangerous lands to get to another dangerous encounter, be gentle to them.

Doing a map that has challenges associated with creepy statues in the middle of earth demands some kind of magical effect.
This variant can be used when your players complete challenges or if you really want to stick it to them you could have this effect activate every second round in combat while having your players roll DEX saves. If they fail maybe they take a little damage and burn their feet or maybe they get blasted to high heaven this radiant damage.

The way the terrain is set up in this area of the game made it perfect for a small pond and keep with the theme of a winter dragon, why not make it frozen over.
This map ties into the encounter we released this week were a pond freezes over after the grieving spirit of a mother dies here. Can the party figure out how to put the spirit to rest or will they be joining her?
