Yay no billing.  Boo no Pervy.

As you may already know, I'm up to my behind in implementing openGL 4 in parallel with 2.1.  There's a dividing line in openGL around version 3.2.  Some old PCs are on the left of it and can do no better, and many are exclusively on the right.  Some will work either way.  I thought they all did.

Itchio release

There is a new release on itchio.  It's bug fixes.  It should work now for more Windows users.

- Replaced SDL with glfw.  It's slower on old PCs, but it doesn't lag anymore.

- Lots of minor bugs that have been sitting there addressed, not every last one.  :<

- OSX 10.15 has not been updated.  The darling thing won't compile.

Update

Patreon update.  A few bits and pieces more, and some clean-up. There are a few lingering bugs.

There is a new character.  When searching, the things you find are tiny.  I'll make it zoom more.  Much more 'decorating' is needed too.

No billing again

Tried to get a cross-compile done this evening.  It's really fighting me (release version exits cold with no clues, but it runs with no issues even in 'fake' release mode under the debugger).  Why not just release the debug version and suppress the symbols? Hm...

I changed to a new version of box2d early this month when my goat kept exploding.  That's a can of worms of course, but the new one is a little better behaved.  Everything still needs adjusting.

There should be an update early in February.

I've been caught up in a long spiral of adding features, since I would have to redo a lot of the map if I did them later.  I'm hopeful that that's getting done and I can focus more on level design.

- the text texture is now 32 bit, not 16. The text was black boxes on some machines.

- it will now launch under the itchio client


OSX:

- there is now a 64 and a 32 bit version. I think Catalina does not like universal binaries.

Bombs away

The long-awaited (ahem) and much anticipated moment has arrived at last.


This release contains the startup menu and the first five cutscenes, including one good one. Lots of art is missing, and some needed features are pretty scarce. Also, the player jiggles and spazzes in a manner that is not intended. On the to-do list: There will be fights early on with the goats, and possibly one taur, and a bit of dungeon loot.
