For our final monthly poster, I decided to do another vertical poster. I am actually quite fond of the format, it really gives a story book vibe! Of course, since it's the holiday season, I also wanted to put GG into a snowy setting. My biggest inspiration for this poster (and all of my detailed illustrations) is Jan Brett, the children's book author/artist.

This is the first vertical patreon poster I've ever done. It doesn't depict a scene but rather acts as a sort of "key visual" for the Gildedguy stories. I hope to feature all the characters in their own animations in the future.
As we approach the 2 year mark since the start of these posters, and as the year of 2018 closes out, I thought this would be a good time to step back from monthly posters and focus on animation.

GILDEDGUY ANIMATIONS:
Gildedguy story #5 is the current project. We are roughly 1:16 minutes in of the 6-7 minute long animation. I've gotten a good feel for the rendering style, so I anticipate progress will speed up over the next few weeks. I can say that I am proud of how it looks, which is a rare thing toward the beginning of a project. Gildedguy tries to hold back his strangely possessed armor from pursuing the star one night.
This poster took a good 6-7 hours to finish, mainly due to the heavy cross-hatching. I also focused on casting accurate shadows with two light sources. Sketching them out early in the draft really helped me later on.

I am making a small change to how the digital posters and downloads are delivered to Tier III patrons.
Before, I was sharing the posters via both Patreon Posts and a private Google Drive Folder ("Gildedguy Patron Shared").
Managing the many permissions and connected email accounts for this shared folder has become rather cumbersome, so I am now only going to distribute download rewards via the Patreon Posts.

This month's poster doubles as concept art for the next animation, which is currently in the story-boarding and sync'ing phase. Since I had a creative block the other night, I decided to go with a line-less style this time, which I find to be more freeing. The stippling and speckling highlights is a new technique for me.

An doodle-mation I made after the week of the FM3K premiere. It was a good way to wind-down my engines after working hard on the new episode. It was kind of like how runners walk around a bit after finishing a marathon.
The idea stemmed from the constant requests for the song "Da Coconut Nut" on stream. I bet I subconsciously formulated the story due to the constant exposure.

A small update for you guys. Just wanted to let you know that the FM3k pilot is in heavy polishing and final bug-fixing stage. So stuff like tidying up menus and adding credits (including the tier IV patron names). We are definitely set to release this summer.
Because of that, I'm a little bit behind on the July speedpaint. Woops!

After spending the last 2 months coding & animating the rhythm game section, I'm happy to say that the first episode is 85% done:
- All voice acting has been recorded.
- Architectural coding is done, just reusing code now.
- Scenes have been planned out, so I just gotta draw a bunch of assets.
- Music is done, just a few tweaks and sound effects are needed.
