While I haven't had as much time to test it thoroughly due to the deadline I set for myself, I'm fairly confident no game breaking bugs are in the build.

There are 11 new scenes in the game + introduction to a number of minigames that help break from the cycle of walking/talking.

I'm fairly satisfied with the loop so far, even though I think it can still be improved.

I'm open to any suggestions/feedback.

Almost there

Updated the website with a timer, I'll try really hard to stick to the deadline this time and not go on any tangents. It's mostly done, just requires debugging/polish and some UI tweaks.

The minigames are all functional now, and for the first time, I feel like Black Rose Hotel is starting to feel like a videogame.

This build has been tested and seems to be working mostly fine, but I’d really appreciate it if you could report any bugs you come across. It includes 6 new scenes, and the gallery system along with the UI should working as intended (for real this time).

Need a bit more time...

I originally wanted to create some pressure for myself to crunch and get the update out as soon as possible, but unfortunately there were more steps that I didn't account for that took time as well.

I was able to get a good amount of work done, mainly finishing the art and writing, but a two week timeframe ended up being too tight to tackle the animations on top, I'll be working on those next.

It's really hard to plan ahead of time when there are so many steps to get through, and ...

Progress report/New Game

As I mentioned before, I started working on a new game that was supposed to be smaller in scale, with a design that allows adding new scenes easily without being too tied to other content. Initially, everything was going well, but then I realized I had added too much, and it started suffering from feature creep. It was becoming as time-consuming as ANLIS, which defeated the purpose of making a simpler game.

I spent the majority of the development time I had for the game this month on trying out ideas to see how I can shape the game formula. I want the new game to go in an entirely different direction than ANLIS, almost opposite in some ways, with most of the player's time spent on exploring and/or battles, and very little on cutscenes (outside H-scenes).

Dungeon Layout Poll

I'm curious about your preferences for dungeon designs in RPGs and how they affect unlocking new content. Here are a couple of options I'm thinking about:

How hardcore would you like the new game to be?

Given that the new project will be focused mainly on lewd content, with the story taking a bit of a step back in favor of the gameplay loop. I want to know if you guys would like it more if the game explored content on the more "hardcore" side.

(Note that the game is set in a more grim medieval universe compared to ANLIS)

A new life in submission v0.03a (part 1)

This is the first half of the update.

It focuses on the following characters: Natalie, Chloe, Ashley, Lydia, Eris (New character), Matt. (More information in the changelog)


Leah/Yuki/Fran will come later. Due to how intertwined the progression is between them.

(CGs aside from Yuki's questline are mostly ready, about half the content is scripted and pending implementation).
