My attention has been divided between art and programming for the last few weeks. Trying to get my video game to a presentable alpha as providen to be trickier than expected, namely in matters of animation for particularly large sprites. For now, I'm stepping back to refocus on art (as programming is in a decent enough state to take a break from) and continue looking for routes of speed and improvement.
Big focus of this was practicing more atmospheric occlusion, sepcifically how to better manage the strength of it in a scene, as well as experimenting with modifying shading techniques.

Learning a thing or three about making comics and drawing faster. now that I'm pushing myself to make them. It is tiring, but in a "going to the gym" sense of applying myself to the edge of my abilities, aiming to lift past them and get stronger in the long-term. However, it's also taking patience to know what may come in the long-term versus the present fatigue.
I'm identifying what gives more the most worry regarding line art; mainly having my base, 80% clean lines down before anythin...

Didn't quite achieve my goal of two comic pages today. The first two pages aren't going to have giantess scenes, just tiny Hanzo and Genji. I imagine my pace will accelerate once there's less environmental backgrounds to ink and more looming Kiriko's.
Sweater Mercy for today has been usurped by workout Zarya (tried drawing muscles from memory as fast as I could).

I mean, I can, I have, it's just that her Deadlock skin and unused concept art have ruined me.
I understand modeling a character to be readable in a video game, but it's tragically hilarious though her development that they kept trimming her shorter.
I intentionally drew her thiccc to calibate my ambient occlusion abilities.

I'm finishing up some base code for a borrower game, and finalizing how I want images and sprites to be handled. With the bulk programming out of the way, I'm aiming to draw as much as I can to improve my speed, and more importantly the detail work for how it will appear in-game.
I plan on releasing a video devlog detailing the premise and mechanics of the game, and once I have some artwork for it I'll release an alpha buid for you to test out.

I'm building up comfort and confidence with line work speed to eventually move towards animation. I'm finding that I learn more from simply drawing more, than focusing on more detailed works (like the four I currently have almost done)

I've been testing out a new keyboard configuration in the middle of several larger projects I'm working on. I'm doing some quick sketches of Mercy to retrain my muscle memory.

There's been a war between soft and cel shading on my canvas, both offering stylistic benefits and drawbacks for how I want to create art. Today, I made an attempt to have them better work together, with a result that I feel is cleaner, though I will continue experimenting in ways I want to convey weight and scale.
