Transport options

I've gotten a little bit fixated with that sci-fi white dress/blue boots getup, and spent a bit more time fleshing it out into a fuller concept. It's OK- I'm getting on will with the gate battle, I've almost finished the renders for Triptychs, and making good headway with the Scuba montage, so I figure it's worth investing some time into thinking about what stories will replace Drop Pods or Cowgirls when they finish. (Yes- I'm working on the Cavalry girls as well, don't worry!)

Elves vs Goblins: 66-69

At a run, the Glade Knights advance out into the trampled mud, past the dead and the dying Rangers who have fallen in the assault.

Moaning in pain, a filthy Goblin arrow piercing her body just above the hip-bone, Sian hears the signal for their advance and knows that her suffering is not in vain. Crawling at the ebb of her waning strength, a shaft clean through her stomach, Heulwen hears the horn and knows that she will be avenged.

The Knights splash through the muck and the mire...

Scuba shoot-out

The scuba scene I mentioned earlier is finally done, though I'm not sure how satisfied I am with the results. Instead of using an underwater render set, I used various noise, layer and distort effects in GIMP.

The characters are from the scuba story I'm working on to publish here once my current stories are finished.

Sci-fi outfit

That Sci-fi outfit that I said I wasn't sure about has stuck in my head and I had to sink a bit more time into getting it right. I think I'm sold on this setup now- expect it to show up in some weekly renders in the near future, and perhaps even a story once Triptychs and Drop-pods have run their course...

At the Lady’s signal, Tanwen the standard bearer raises her hunting horn to her lips. The single, clear note carries easily across the battlefield. At its strident call, Seren, bravest of the Glade Knights, strides forth, crying out to her sisters to follow her.

It is their turn to uphold the bargain.

It's been a bit of a scrappy week- I started with a determination to make some headway on my existing projects and ended up running around after the whims of my imagination.

You'll probably remember the Hoplite charge render I published on Deviantart ages ago- I've meant to go back to that setting for ages. Apologies in advance for the politics- which I usually steer clear of- but there's an elephant in the room that needs addressing (pun intended).

OK, so back in September when I started my Patreon, I set the monthly Tier 2 membership to USD $5, which converted to GBP £4.50, and felt like a fair price.

As of this morning, USD $5 is worth £3.88, which is rather less fair for a Brit like me. Who knows what five Dollars is going to be worth by next month?

Character ideas

I've spent a bit of time this evening setting up characters for some of my upcoming works:

• I saw this green drape dress in the sale and, like an old lady in a charity shop, snapped it right up. I've got a distinctly 70s vibe for this one.

• I've had some Egyptian-themed work in the pipe for a while now, but it's never quite made it into the wild. Looks like a good candidate for a weekly render though.

• I picked up some more flat thigh-boots and tattoos...

Vengeful, spiteful and capricious, the forest spirits witness the suffering and sacrifice of the daughters of Loren with something akin to satisfaction. The pain and fear of flesh and blood is as nothing to beings so ancient and primal, who have witnessed the endless struggles of predator and prey since the dawn of time. All that matters to them is that each surrendered life, each willing or unwilling death, goes some little way towards assuaging the pain and hurt done to the forest by Goblin...

Coming in April

If I'm lucky, I've got a bit of downtime coming up, so I might be a little more productive when it comes to the Scuba and Behind-the-scenes posting next month.

Cowgirls continues with some street-side mayhem, while the Elven Knights will finally get the order to advance. In Drop Pods, a whole cargo-hold full of space-girls are going to get unleashed into the fire-fight. In Triptychs, smartly-dressed Agents will continue to recklessly expend themselves. I'll also get some more Amazon pic...

Lara Croft Wannabes

I couldn't think of a better title for this one. I remember as a kid seeing a promo pic in a games magazine (remember those?) of Lara Croft in her swimsuit on a jetty somewhere. Ever since, I've had a thing for athletic women in swimsuits getting into gunfights in exotic locations.

17-20: Reinforcements

In the calm, quiet safety of the Indefatigable's Ops room, warfare technicians monitor the process of the ongoing ground battle. So far, casualties are within acceptable parameters, and the second wave of Storm Troops are preparing to embark.

A drop-ship is prepared, it's red-suited payload awaiting their orders obediently. Once aboard, tightly packed in neat ranks, they will be delivered into the heat of the battle on the planet below, to kill or to be killed.

Elves vs Goblins: 50-54

Elven arrows have reaped a ripe harvest of Goblins, but the spiteful creatures have no regard for their own fallen. For now, they fear their own leaders more than the sting of Elven steel.

Stubbornly determined, the Rangers keep up their relentless assault, equally indifferent to their losses. For warriors like Dwynwen, bending her bow once again to pluck another Goblin from its perch, the terror of death is as nothing compared to the consequences for her people, should they fail to uph...

I don't know why I never published that many Amazon pieces. I think it's possibly because it's so hard to find flat-soled boots and sword-belts that look good, plus most pre-made tattoos aren't really how I imagine Amazon tattoos to look. I don't think I've ever made an Amazon render that I was fully, entirely satisfied with.
