High Tide, Chapter 71: High Tide

First Moon, 132 AC

Chapter delayed, my apologies.

Sorry for the late announcement but I was hoping it would be fixed earlier. So last Thursday night my computer wouldn’t start and had some technical issues. So it has been away the whole weekend getting checked over and fixed (around the time I would normally be writing). I tried to use another laptop and Google Docs to write but that had its own issues too so unfortunately it looks like technical issues has forced us to skip an update week. My deepest apologies, especially considering how ...

What's after High Tide?

I have decided to make this post since I have just posted the start of the final arc in High Tide. All together, there are just five chapters left in the story and it will finish by mid-July at the earliest so the question now is where do we go next, especially for those of you who are subscribed?

So some of you already know this from what I've said on the Discord on other sites, but my next story is slated to be an Aegon the Conqueror SI (or rather transmigrator since like Corlys, A...

High Tide, Chapter 69: The Death of Peace

-Excerpt from 'The Sea Snake', the biography of Corlys Velaryon, Abridged Edition.

Shortly after the letter from Prince Aemon arrived, Corlys and Viserra Velaryon and their four would journey to King’s Landing with a full retinue of Tide Guard and servants. They made a stunning return to court for the first time in twenty years, awing many with their splendor and majesty, with their fine clothes in Tyroshi fashions never before seen in Westeros, their jew...

Eighth Moon, 131 AC

Rhaenys

The funeral of a Queen Consort was a grand and solemn event. Lesser in scale perhaps to the funeral that would be given to a King or Queen Regnant, but grand nonetheless. Her mother was old and had been declining for years, her death came as no surprise, but Rhaenys still grieved, she couldn’t not grieve.

Yet despite her grief, she was already quite accepting of the loss. It was her mother’s time, and though s...

Baela

“Pay attention,” she lectured her children who were fidgeting and muttering to their siblings and cousins. They stood in an exclusive and elevated place of honor near the Father’s statue in the Myrish sept and the congregation’s eyes were on them as much as they were on the clergy carrying out the service.

“Is there even any use in any of this though Mother?” her second son Daemon whispered a protest. “...

Chapter 67 on Wednesday

So sorry to postpone the chapter again but I was having some difficulties with the segue of Ch67. Good news is I was able to get half of it done (about 4000 words) so the second half/POV should deffo be done by tmrw. I think that one will be less complex for me to write.

As a treat and a thanks for being so patient and understanding, the POVs in question are Baela and Viserra, the last in fact before the Dance comes in Ch70. 68 will be Rhaenys and Aegon II (hopefully I have less issues...

The Dowager Lady of Winter

“Thank you for your hospitality Sister, Nephews. It was good to see you again after so long but alas, the time has come for us to part ways once again,” her elder brother said regretfully.

“You can always stay a little longer Uncle,” her elder son Cregan said.

Her younger son, Corwyn, and her nephews, Vaemond’s boys, Daemion and Alyn, looked approving of the idea but her brother r...

Yeah I’m really sorry to be making another of these but Chapter 66 is postponed to Wednesday/Thursday as I was unexpectedly busy and wasn’t able to work on it (also had some creative challenges).

That being said it is in progress. I’ve finished one of the three planned interludes and the second is I’m in progress. Hopefully I can finish it all tmrw which would still be Tuesday for some of you depending how long I take and where you all live.

Anyway thanks all for being ...

Alyssa

With a hacking cough, she heaved more of her life away, throwing her whole body to the side of the bed in her agony. The years of stress and worry had taken their toll on her body, and ever since her beloved Baelon’s death the previous year, the melancholy that had once plagued her had returned with a vengeance.

She was sixty-seven years old. Both of her parents had lived into their 70s but Alyssa doubted she’d...

“Dracarys!” his great uncle the King commanded. Caraxes the Blood-Wyrm obeyed. His crimson flames consumed his great-grandfather’s body relentlessly, burning until nothing was left of him.

It was sad Corlys supposed but he didn’t feel that strongly about it. He had never really been that close to his great-grandfather, nor had any of his siblings or cousins, even if the younger ones were crying. Fu...

Rhaenys

In her youth Meleys had been considered the fastest and nimblest of House Targaryen’s dragons. And though she had become lazier with age and size, she still lived up to that reputation, serving Rhaenys well as they soared with speed over the battlefield, deftly evading every single volley of arrows with ease.

Whenever they couldn’t evade in time, Meleys would simply breathe out fire to incinerate the arrows int...

Change to Update Schedule

So since I have been postponing the chapters to Monday/Tuesday a lot I have decided to just accept reality and officially change the weekly update schedule from Saturday/Sunday to Saturday/Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.

This way on the weeks that I am free, I will be able to get out those weekend updates we all like while having it understood by all of us that it may come on a later day if I have anything delaying me.

Now on the topic of Ch63, it should be out by Tuesday. Been busy plan...

Once he had been Jhallador Zhas, a proud warrior and chief retainer in the service of Prince Xhallabar Xho, the Prince of Lizard Head off the coast of Jhala. But no more. He was nothing now. Just a sad exile drinking away his sorrows in a Lyseni tavern.

He tightened the grip on his cup and took another swill of his wine as his bitterness continued to fester. Exile. The Priests of Love had always insiste...

Chapter 61 and Chapter 62 Update Schedule.

Hello guys, I decided to let you know in advance that for the next two weeks, the update schedules for Chapters 61 and 62 will be from Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday instead of Saturday/Sunday because this weekend is Palm Sunday and the next is Easter so I'll be busy with IRL church things.

I am also considering changing the update timing in general to those days since I have delayed the chapters from the weekends several times since the weekends are when I tend to get busy but I know that ...

Jacaerys

A few days after the Triunification ceremony, Jace sat down with his family for a meeting. Just the six of them, Corlys and Viserra Velaryon and their four children and the plots they engaged in to shape the world as they desired.

“We are quite fortunate that it seems everything has gone according to plan,” Jace began. “The Triarchy has been established exactly according to the borders that I drew out and t...

Sorry to delay again but no chapter this Saturday/Sunday. I drove myself pretty hard writing 59 last Tuesday with a fever and that really sucked. So while recovering I wasn’t writing at all. I did spend some time outlining so wasn’t entirely procrastinating but haven’t started on 60 itself yet. So when 60 comes I’m not sure, hopefully by Wednesday. Thanks for being understanding and stay tuned.

Jacaerys

Jace was looking over his armor and uniform again in the vanity. It was a very important day, and nothing could go wrong. He adjusted his bracers and boots again as he tried to make himself look as perfect as possible, not a single hair out of place. The servants normally helped his mother and sister get ready but for the most part, Jace and his brothers preferred to dress themselves, finding it much quicker than being...

Sorry to delay the chapter to Monday/Tuesday again but I was pretty tired this weekend and busy with some things. Good news though, Ch59 is all planned out and I don't foresee being busy the next few days so it shouldn't be delayed again. Thanks for being understanding.

High Tide Chapter 58: Survive or Live

Fifth Moon, 120 AC

Jacaerys

Over a hundred years ago, his ancestor, Aegon the Conqueror had destroyed a Volantene fleet at Lys. Jace found it almost fitting that he would be following in his footsteps. He looked ahead to his prey. The Volantene fleet had formed up in formation. Each ship bristled with scorpions, pointed desperately at the sky. They fired a mass volley of bolts that came flying at Jace and his dragon from all directions.
