Rumour has it that the manor, though seemingly vacant, is attended only by a handful of custodial staff.
Originally envisioned as a potential base of operations for player characters or a coveted quest reward, the Northridge Estate offers endless possibilities for your campaign. A humble scullery maid working tirelessly in Northridge Manor. With her chestnut hair neatly tied in a simple bun and kind hazel eyes, Elara exudes an air of quiet resilience. Born into a family of meagre means, she found solace in the castle's bustling kitchens. Elara's nimble fingers deftly manoeuvre through the chores, scrubbing pots and pans with unwavering diligence.
Mortimer Ravenscroft
Role: Butler
Age: Mid 50s
Ancestry: Human
A reserved and impeccably dressed male butler responsible for the upkeep of the vacant Blackthorn Manor. With greying hair neatly combed, Mortimer's stern countenance hides a secret struggle with alcohol, indulging in the spirits that he believes befit the lordly status he emulates. Despite the manor's emptiness, he moves through its halls with an air of authority, maintaining an illusion of grandeur as he orchestrates the household staff that no longer exists. Mortimer's delusions of being the lord of the manor add a touch of tragic theatricality to his daily routine, concealing the lonely reality within the empty estate.
Amber Mooncatcher
Role: Herbalist
Age: Unknown
Ancestry: Cactus Leshy
Amber has been in the area for a long time as an herbalist/witch, but when the estate was growing decided to move her operation in. She specialises in plants that are especially useful for adventurers, including a steady supply of common potions and alchemical mixtures.
Teaching Kitchen: Every evening after sundown, Amber Mooncatcher teaches anyone who would like to learn about herbalism, potion-making, alchemy, and gardening. Items created during this period using her materials can be purchased at half price. She usually has some stock of items created by students who did not purchase it at the time.
Anytime a half-price potion/mixture is used, roll a d20 for the effectiveness of the item:
- On a 1, the item has the opposite of its desired effect.
- On 2-8, the item is inert and has no effect.
- On 9-19, the item has a normal effect.
- On 20, the item has double the effect.
A character with appropriate skill/lore may attempt to identify a purchased item. Roll a “hard” difficulty check appropriate to the level of the item. On a success, the character may roll the effectiveness d20 without drinking/using the item. On a critical success to identify the item, they identify the item and figure out how to increase its effectiveness one step.
Heinrich Fasthammer

Ancestry: Half Elf
A somewhat confused young blacksmith known for either his insanely fast and good smithing skills or for his general Lack of time awareness. A super energetic Person always glad to help but he just can't seem to remember a darn thing. If you send a request for a Hammer, i.e. it's either done in a few hours or after asking 200 times in a week or so.
Sara Stonewall
Role: Toll Collector
Age: 60s
Ancestry: Human
Lazy (likely napping) old and retired adventurer. She is just as likely to talk your ear off for an hour as let you through the gate, but if you ask about her grandkids you can get a discount on the toll.
Jasper Brightshield
Role: Guardsmen
Age: 20s
Ancestry: Human
The amiable but somewhat dim-witted young guardsman patrolling the Northridge Manor with an earnest smile on his face. With his tousled blonde hair and a perpetually cheerful demeanour, Jasper is a beacon of friendliness. However, his simplicity is evident in the way he takes every statement at face value, lacking the ability to discern sarcasm or hidden meanings. Clad in his uniform, adorned with a slightly crooked insignia, Jasper's sincerity and lack of guile make him an endearing figure among the locals. While his literal interpretation of orders may lead to amusing incidents, his unwavering loyalty and genuine nature make him a well-liked presence in the otherwise serious realm of estate security.
Bruni Stonefoot
Role: Stablehand
Age: 50s
Ancestry: Dwarf
A dwarven female defying convention as the dedicated stablehand on the Northridge Estate. Known for her fiery red hair and sturdy build, Bruni's passion for horses and the sprawling pasture sets her apart from her kin who typically favour underground pursuits. Despite facing scepticism and even disdain from fellow dwarves, Bruni's affinity for the equine world is unwavering. She spends her days caring for the estate's horses with a gentle touch, finding solace in the simple joy of their presence. In her rare moments of respite, Bruni can be found whittling intricate wooden sculptures of the horses she tends, channelling her love for these majestic creatures into art that defies the stereotypes of her dwarven heritage.

Just beyond the outskirts of a humble settlement lies an enigmatic and foreboding place, known simply as the Old Barrow. A grassy hill, crowned with weathered and ancient stones, conceals the entrance to a cryptic world beneath.
The villagers speak in hushed tones of the Old Barrow, a place steeped in mystery and shadows. Some claim it to be the final resting place of a once-great king, a ruler whose name has long faded into the whispers of time. Others insist it was once an ancient shrine dedicated to a malevolent deity, a god of darkness and dread. The truth, however, remains obscured by the veils of uncertainty.
Locals advise against venturing too close, cautioning that the safety of the village lies in steering clear of the enigmatic burial site. The superstitions that shroud the Old Barrow have taken root in the hearts of the villagers, fostering an unspoken agreement to keep a respectful distance.

Greeting adventurers!
Slightly ahead of our usual release schedule I have our first full release for Feb and our theme of Villages and Towns. Behold, the town of Mareford.
Sitting astride an important river crossing, Mareford grew from a small hamlet to a bustling town. How do we know this? Well in a RC first I have actually created 4 different phases for this one town
The idea behind it is that your party could visit the town multiple times over a campaign and see how the town has evolved. Maybe they even want to set up shop there and invest some of their ill gotten gains into developing their adopted home!

Plot Hook Ideas
Mysterious Illness:
The residents of Helman Sound are falling victim to a strange illness. Local healers are unable to cure it, and rumors spread that a dark force is at play. The party is hired to investigate the source of the illness and find a cure before the entire hamlet
Missing Children:
Several children from Helman Sound have gone missing, and the villagers believe it's the work of a local swamp witch. The party is tasked with venturing into the swamp to rescue the children and uncover the truth behind their disappearance.
Bog Witch's Request:
The notorious Bog Witch of Helman Sound seeks an audience with the adventurers. Surprisingly, she asks for their help in stopping a more malevolent force that threatens both the hamlet and the swamp. Can the party trust the Bog Witch, or is it a cunning ploy?
What is coming up?
This month we will be exploring Towns and Villages, an absolute staple to nearly every campaign!
I have already started work on our first project and it is a big one, the town of Mareford.
What makes this map unique is that I am attempting to draw the town at several different stages of its development. Starting as a humble tavern by a ford and ending with a bustling town replete with castle and all drawn at a scale that would allow you to use it as a battlemap!

Uncover the truth behind the heirloom's connection to the smugglers' lair and navigate the treacherous underground passages to reclaim what is rightfully theirs.
Vanishing Villagers:

Plot Hook Suggestions:
Ghost Ship Resurgence: A legendary ghost ship, thought to be nothing more than a sailor's tale, appears in Blackrock Harbour. The restless spirits aboard seek redemption, and the party must uncover the ship's tragic history to put the souls to rest. However, other factions may see the ghost ship as a source of dark power.
Siege of Shadows: As shadows engulf Blackrock Harbour, the party faces a desperate last stand against a malevolent army besieging the port. Their mission: hold the line, repel the dark forces, and buy precious time for the ships to escape to safety.
Merfolk Diplomacy: The underwater city of merfolk, angered by the pollution and disturbances caused by the harbor's activities, sends an envoy seeking peaceful negotiations. First things first, Happy New Year! I hope you all are having a cracking start to 2024!
In terms of maps, kicking off our new theme of Sea Adventures I have our brand spanking new Frigate, the Aurora!
This 38 gun (or ballista if that is your poison) monster would give any salty sea dog a run for its money.
Whether you throw this ship at our party or choose to be kind and actually let them crew it, there is plenty of fun to be had on this Frigate.

Located in the Southern Provinces, Reddrift once sat upon a thriving trade route from the northern reaches of the kingdom. Its sturdy stone bridge once offered merchants and peasants alike safe passage across the swift river.
But with the fall of the kingdom such far flung trade routes collapsed, and with it, the bridge itself. In its place a simple pontoon ferry, behind a rough palisade to deter marauders, a poignant reminder of how far the realm has fallen.
Thank you so much for all your support this year and I sincerely hope that you have enjoyed all the maps and other content! I am really excited about what we will achieve in 2024 and I hope you are too!

In a time long past, the Southern Provinces stood as a flourishing realm, a tapestry of fertility and lush greenery that once bestowed upon the Old Kingdom the bounty of its lands.
Embraced by the dwarven kingdom of the Ironhelm Mountains, flanked by the opulent realms of Mythos to the south and the unending steppe stretching eastward, these provinces thrived as a crucial nexus in a sprawling trade network that spanned the continent.
Regrettably, such prosperity is now but a distant memory.
Ensnared by the grip of a relentless plague of undeath, meticulously crafted by the malevolent covens of the Night Sisters, the genesis of this scourge unfolded within the great city of Sesa. The affliction cascaded through the once-vibrant Amber Vale, subjecting its inhabitants to a wretched demise before compelling them to rise anew, driven by a relentless hunger for the living.
Once the crown jewel among the southern realms, the Amber Vale has devolved into a morass of malevolence and death, now infamous as the accursed Undead Wastes. A tidal wave of putrid flesh having severed the Old Kingdom from its allies, leaving in its wake a desolation that echoes with the groans of the reanimated.
Among the sparse remnants clinging to life in this once-verdant realm, mere specters of their former selves persist, eking out a meager existence in the shadows of malevolence.

I used the old version of this map way back when during a campaign in Calenoth, the ancient elven forest realm in my homebrew continent of Taritha. As I recall there was a rather irritable unicorn that lived here who took exception to my PCs tramping through her glade. Naturally violence ensued…

🌍✨ Greetings, Adventurers! ✨🌍
Behold, as the secrets of an ancient war long forgotten come to life in a brand new map! The Fallen Titan, the colossal remains an ancient metal automaton, that once strode the battlefields in a time obscured by the mists of history.
Not only do we have a new map but I was lucky enough to get to work alongside a very talented creator at James’ RPG Art. James has painted some wonderful background art that shows our new titan in its full glory! Both animated and still versions of the scene will be available to all patrons. Make sure to check out James’ fantastic work for yourself, link below.
Yet, the story doesn't end with the fallen giant. Delve deeper into the map, and you'll discover the unexpected inhabitants of the titan's remains. Be they bandits, kobolds or orcs, I’m sure your players will have a blast finding out!
