Here are 3 amazing picks you can use over any Eminor backing track 🔥 although you can use the first 2 picks over any backing track as long as you move it around like I’ve put in the tabs 🎉

Take it slow with these as once you have the patterns down it’s very simple to start bringing these up in speed! then everyone will just assume you took guitar steroids to play so fast so quick 😂

Weekly Lesson - Chords into Sweeps

This lessons shows you how I made my most viral video.
The basic idea behind this lesson is that we take 4 chords & play the basic arpeggio shapes.
The trick that makes this one stand out is adding the 6th interval to both the Dm & Bb.

Weekly Lesson - The Three Sweep Shapes You Need To Know!

These really are the only shapes you will need when you begin to sweep. Even if you don’t want to ‘sweep’ these are arpeggios are super useful.
Arpeggios like this are how you can target intervals in chords. In other lessons I’ve put up you can see how to apply this all to a scale!

Weekly Lesson - Chords In A Scale #2

Here we’re expanding on a lesson from a few weeks back where we explore how we can use arpeggios in a scale, making melodic passages  and playing with intention

Download the tab and get these under your fingers. There’s only three shapes to learn!  I’ve attached Em & Dm because they’re only 2 frets apart. This should help with your visualisation of the shapes remaining the same no matter which minor scale we’re playing 🔥

Weekly Lesson - 3 Note Per String Scales

If you want to become a legit shredder, 3 note per string scales are 100% needed.
they’re so easy to accent triplets which most runs these days are if. This will also help with your note groupings! 

I can’t say enough for these scales, give them a go! 

String Skipping Lick #1

I wrote this for a student to help them work on combining string skipping & alternate picking. 

Pick slanting is massive in licks like this, so if you’re going to give it a go, make sure to looking into Troy Grady’s pick slanting videos!

This week we’re looking back to our last lesson. This is so that we can look into one of the most important parts of guitar playing, Transposition! 

Transposition is when we take a price of music & change the notes to change the key. In this video we’re moving arpeggios around the fret board using the same shape and discovering why this is so easy & so useful.

If you don’t know your inversions then you’re really missing out. Inversion shapes are some of the best ways to get around the fret board & outline chord tones.

Weekly Lesson - Moving Your Tapping Lines

This tapping lick is a lot easier than it sounds.

the basic idea in this lick from Killswitch Engage is that we’re using one string to play notes in a minor scale. We move one hand after 4 repetitions of each sequence. Only moving one hand makes this much more comprehensible!

Weekly Lesson - Diminished Arpeggio Trick

This is a brilliant trick to implement into your writing, improv & general trick bag
Whats happening here is the notes in a finished chord are all the same distance apart from one another. They’re all a minor third away in distance. Because of this you can play the same shape every 3 frets and you will be playing the same notes in a new order 

I’m a big fan of this trick

Great little trick if you’re looking for a quick and easy lick to implement in your playing 

remember you can do this on any string!

You only need to learn 3 shapes for both major and minor to be able to get all around the fret board 

then once you’ve got that down you can do this for every chord in the scale - then you’ll have a really great understanding of the fret board
