I'm getting a bit frustrated with game dev so I drew Railanor Galadmir 3P to relieve some stress. Not much else to say other than mission accomplished ^^

FEH Collection

tl;dr FEH Collection is an illustration series featuring FEH babes x Summoner(You)

My goal for this is to draw hot scenarios and threesomes featuring my fave FEH babes. Currently, the line up is Loki, FEH!Anna (with a slight redesign by me), and Nerthuz.

Essentially, this is an illustration version of my failed VN called Quick Fics: A Taste of Freedom. I don't want to completely throw out all the work I put in that project so I decided to make it into a series of illustrations instead of a full-blown VN.

Entries to this collection are tagged "FEH Collection". It's currently just solo illustrations but I'll get to the scenarios soon ^^

I plan this to be a small series that I update regularly. I'm going for a Pixel art style for my main project called Blight Knights and I need to balance it with regular illustrations, which is another motivation for this side project.

Please note that this series will be available to all members (and public at a later date), but Bishops and Archivists will get access to exclusive art for this series.

Also note that I'll still draw other stuff. Just wanna make sure I explain this new category. That's all! ^^

Nerthuz

Got inspired to draw her cause of the rerun. I still believe (hope) in a new Rhea alt so I'm holding off on rolling Nerthuz (and Gullveig, or anyone for that matter haha)

Anyway, I'm practicing a new technique for illustrations and I think it's working out very well, I'm definitely happy with the result! ^^ This is another entry to FEH Collection. It's just sexy images right now but I swear I'll get to the hot scenarios soon ^^

Only managed to do a solo illustration because it's obviously easier to draw just one character, but also because I've been really busy with Blight Knights for the progress update this month. Excited to talk about that but I'll save it for the dedicated post.

Hey guys, I'm sorry for the wait. I have no excuses, I got addicted to gaming in the past 2 weeks so that's why I haven't been posting (I also touched a bit of grass hehe) But I've got my fill of gaming so it's time to draw!

Anyway, here's the first entry to the collection. I have a simple plot for these illustrations (essentially the remnants of the VN) but I will focus mostly on the "action" for these illustrations.

td;dr I'm going for pixel art for Blight Knights, full post/details later

I haven't talked about Blight Knights lately because I was stumped on the art style, but I'm finally committing to pixel art (mostly)

Long story short, pixel art forces me to a consistent art style which is absolutely what I want for my game. I have trouble keeping my art style consistent when it comes to my normal high-res art, it's just fun playing around different brushes and techniques.

Currently, I'm drawing normally in CSP which I then scale down and trace in Aseprite. So there is redundancy, but it works and is less frustrating than starting from scratch in pixel art.

Anyway, I'll talk about it more in detail in a separate post (like I need to talk about issues with animation and UI and integration to Godot) just want to share some previews, I don't want you guys to think I've abandoned the project ^^

Zombie Wiz!

Plot

Gameplay

Summary: Point-and-Click Adventure, Stat Raising Simulation

Play as the new initiate in his journey to master his power and quest to eliminate the Blight menace.

Train at the Knight’s HQ and use your Angel Hands to heal the Blight disease. But beware, your Angel Hands requires direct skin contact! No self-respecting Knight will let a stranger touch them!

Interact with the Knights throughout the free-roam map. Train with them, learn about them, and build up your bonds in order to open their hearts to your benevolent magic… and maybe even more!

At long last, I can finally talk about Blight Knights, my own Eroge project!

First off, this game is still in the very early phase of development. Terminologies, UI, gameplay elements may change as I implement them.

What won't change are the characters and their roles since they are the first thing I had to develop and solidify. The 5 characters here are critical to the story and will hopefully provide a fun and expansive exploration of the world of Blight Knights! It's an eroge so there will be a heavy emphasis on the ero part, but my hope is that the story would be able to stand on its own even without the ero part. I got a little ambitious ^^

Another thing that probably won't change is the "healing/massage" gameplay. It's the first gameplay element i designed and I think I have some nice ideas for it ^^

There's a lot of details that I omitted because I want the actual game to do all the talking. Unfortunately, I don't think I can make a playable build this month (with actual story content) because there's so much front load work I still have to do.

Anyway, I've been living and breathing this project for the past month and I need a short breather. So next week I'll be drawing more #public_art and #patreon_art. Rhea art, FE art, maybe more Unicorn Overlord? I'll also post A Taste of Freedom, part 1 (Loki's and Anna's Quick Fics).

Rhea

I know I said my next post would be the announcement of my game Blight Knights, but it's taking way longer since there's so much stuff to design and think about.

BUT, I also want to force myself to post more regularly (as part of my Patreon overhaul) I don't want to go for too long without any activity so I'm taking a quick break to do some illustrations.

I think I can make the initial post for Blight Knights next week at the latest. But if you're an Archivist check out the Archive folder, I've been updating it nearly everyday with early designs and ideas ^^ I officially started the project last month so I suppose it makes sense that I haven't nailed down all the details just yet (especially connecting gameplay mechanics to story progression)

Anyway, I drew my beloved mommy dragon pope because she always manages to calm me down and recenter me ^^ This image is part of Byleth x Rhea Morning's routine image set. Hoping to finish this set this month plus a bunch of other ideas :D

Railanor

Had a deep urge to draw Railanor ever since I saw her casual outfit for the Unicorn Overlord artbook. For reference this is how she looks like in-game and in the artbook cover. I love her design so much that I just had to plap err draw her ^^

While we're talking about Unicorn Overlord, lemme just drop my very personal tierlist. It'll probably take some time but I want to draw my S-tier ladies, one way or another ^^ To be clear, this tierlist doesn't mean I hate the lower tier characters, I just enjoyed the higher ones way, way more so they get priority in drawing.

Here's a sketch for my next Byleth x Rhea piece, well it's an image sequence. The idea for this one is "Mornings". It's missing a couple shots/panels before this but I just love how it's turning out so I wanted to share it ^^

Gullveig trio sketch! Not sure I'll be able to finish this one soon so might as well post it.

Lastly, I've started practicing animation recently! It's a necessary element in eroges nowadays so I want to add it to my game. But even if it was not, I'd probably practice animation sooner or later anyway.

I was on the fence whether I should go frame-by-frame or Spine animation (like Live2D) and I've decided to do frame-by-frame for now. I feel like it's harder and potentially more time-consuming, but it's the ultimate test for my artistic skills and I kinda crave the challenge haha

Anyway, here's a rough animation I did with Anna. Amateur stuff but I know that I'll only get better if I keep practicing!

Quick Fics VN cancelled

I'm officially cancelling Quick Fics but I will release the CGs (with captions) at a later date because I spent a lot of time on this project and it would be a waste to not release it. The VN is dead but the story will live in another form ^^ Just a reminder: this is Anna and Loki's short story.

Original Eroge Project (Blight Knights)

Technically, I have 3 personal game project ideas. This one is the most appealing to me at the moment so I'm committing to this one.

This will be my main game project while I work sparingly on Emerald Dawn on the side. I'll talk about the game in a dedicated post in a few days, hopefully before August ends! Excited to talk about it ^^

I spent the last couple months thinking, re-thinking, backpedaling, reconsidering... But I think I really need this change. This new system makes so much more sense to me and it's really been a long time coming. I let myself stagnate for such a long time but with this change and working on stuff I'm really into definitely sparked a fire in me.

Anyway, I hope this covers everything. Please let me know if you have questions or clarifications on any of these.

Rhea & Pause

I'm pausing Patreon for July (ie no charge on Aug. 1st) because I couldn't finish everything I needed for the Patreon Revamp. I got sick for about a week and a half which killed all my progress and momentum. It wasn't anything serious (I got the flu, not covid, but then I also got chikungunya right after the flu so it took more than a week altogether)

Anyway, I'm all better now but things really didn't go as planned for July. But here are some stuff I worked on.

Drew these Tae after I recovered. Not bad but not great either, I was very rusty after a week of not drawing so I'm scrapping these and redrawing Tae's set.

Here's an unfinished Sonia sketch.

And here's a small progress report for Quick Fics.

Word count is about 6K. I rewrote the intro but other than that I'm pretty happy with the script so I'm doing art next.

When I was sick I watched some old anime and I rediscovered just how much I enjoy old anime art style. The ones I watched all had vivid color schemes and are not afraid to use the darker tones.

So I'm changing the style of Quick Fics to imitate that older anime style. Obviously I can't suddenly recreate the style 100% (especially the backgrounds!) but I think I have a good idea on how to go about it, see pic below.

In summary, I:

• use a darker and more vivid color palette

• draw lineart without line weight (or use it sparingly), this combined with drawing in the final target resolution (1920x1080) makes it so character lineart are consistent across CGs and Sprites

• color with simple aliased cel-shading and only use 100% opaque colors , no fancy soft brushes and opacity brushes

• limit colors to 3 or 4 (base color, highlights, shadows, deeper shadows (optional))

So basically I'm simplifying the art style. The biggest benefit of doing this is that I color characters so much faster. My default style can vary wildly from one pic to the next so having these hard rules will hopefully make it easier for me to maintain consistency and actually finish and not keep redrawing/recoloring stuff.

I'm hoping to finish Quick Fics very soon because there's only 5 months left in 2024 and I still have to finish Emerald Dawn. I know I said to only work on 1 project at a time but I succumbed and started work on my personal project.

In my defense I only work on it a few hours here and there, mostly when I get tired of drawing. I'm mostly doing brainstorming, world building, and a bit of character writing. One thing I can tell you right now is that it won't be a VN and I will most likely make the game in Godot instead of Ren'py. Yapping will be kept at a minimum and gameplay will take priority. It's still in the early stages so things will definitely change but yeah that's all I can say for now.

That being said, I've reached a point in my art career where I just want to focus on personal projects. I'm just not good/fast enough to deliver monthly fanart or keep up with the hottest new stuff, while doing personal projects on the side. 2-3 monthly illustrations seems low but it honestly takes me so much effort to do them and I'm simply burnt out.

There's only so much hours in the day and only so much creative juice. I want to spend all those on stuff that I'm truly passionate about.

I can only blame myself though because I made this system in the first place... Change is hard sometimes, especially when you're set in your ways or you're lazy like me.

3D Sculpting

So I recently got into 3D sculpting because I was working on Quick Fics and I had a scene that was giving me so much trouble so I tried to mock up the scene in 3D. Problem is I've never modeled good/correct-looking human characters before and I didn't want to use other people's models.

But by some miracle, this stream https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLR-2cVvk5E&t=4468s was recommended to me and I saw how the guy (his name is Nikolai, amazing artist, pretty funny guy, and seems like a great dad too!) sculpted a character in just over 1 hour!!!! I was so impressed and so inspired that I bought his course immediately and started learning how to sculpt in 3D. 2 weeks later, after many hours of practice, this is what I came up with.

I'm still a newbie, obviously, I have a lot to learn but I honestly feel like I have a shot at 3D sculpting. More than that, 3D solves my problem of poor composition. I'm no longer limited by refs because I can make my own damn references myself lol I can't stress how life-changing that is to me.

I wish I was good enough to draw stuff without needing bajillion references, but on the other hand, this deficiency led me to 3D sculpting - and now I feel so liberated I feel like I can take on anything hahaha I'm sure I'll be humbled very soon but for now I feel like a god ^^

Alright so 3D. Long-term I want to be able to do everything from sculpting to animation. I'm also thinking of making the .blend files available if there's interest in them.

Short term though? I'm using it to mock-up scenes as references for drawing. This leads us back to my current project: Quick Fics. With the help of 3D, I feel like I can solve the majority of my problems and I feel like I can finally finish it. I was so excited that I began recreating stuff in 3D. Here's a recreation of a tent BG from FEH that I'm using for lots of sexy scenes in Quick Fics ^^ The tent BG that I drew was kinda bland so I went for what FEH already has haha

Close enough to mock up scenes ^^ I'll prolly end up painting over it anyways because I don't want the 3d look to it.

I'll talk more about Quick Fics in a different post. But after Quick Fics, I plan to finish Emerald Dawn: Dance of Life because I put it off for so long I need to give it love ^^ And finally after that, I'll start my own original story. One thing at a time.

Actually though, I'm always writing a bit here and there. I just never get to a point where I commit to any of my own stories. BTW, I recently read a manga called Mato Seihei no Slave and I got some amazing inspirations from it, love the "rewards" system specifically and I want to explore the concept, I think it can tie up well with Persona 5's dating sim gameplay. Fubuki best girl btw! ^^

• I'm pausing for June to give me time to revamp my Patreon (give it a facelift, update stuff, change rewards, relax lol)

I want to see what I can do if I dedicate myself to my own thing and stuff I personally enjoy.
