Lumera Part 2

More Lumera!

I've been playing around with the new fisheye perspective feature in CSP and thought I'd use it for her. I think it turned out okay. Wanted something subtle and I'm pretty happy with it. I did end up freehanding most of the background though ^^;

Quick Fics Update + Seeking Suggestions

Quick Fics Update

Got a bit more progress on Quick Fics! Knocked down a couple more Anna CGs and redrew Anna's sprite. I made her hairstyle closer to Engage!Anna because I felt like the old one is a bit messy. Here's the old and new side by side:

The other change is that I've been messing around with G-pen for my lines which gives it that crisp and sharp look to it. I feel like my lines look more energetic with the G-Pen (prolly cos of lineweight) Downside is it requires a lot more dexterity compared to my usual lining pen and it can look very messy very quickly. It's just a matter of getting used to it though so I'll keep using it.

Oh and I'm spoiling one of Anna's CG in the OP images but I just love her expression in the CG and wanted to share it. Drawing expressions is fun! ^^

The best way to get me in the mood to art is to draw Rhea so that's what I did ^^ Saw a cute outfit somewhere and was curious if it would fit Rhea, I like how it turned out, I think the glasses complete the look :D

A quick update on Quick Fics, I've been sketching quite a bit and I think I have all I need to finish Anna's scene. Thought I'd show post one of the early CGs, I quite like her expression here :D And yes, naked(?) Summoner keeps his hood on, don't ask haha (it's just easier to draw)

We'll start March character suggestions very soon. I have more to talk about but I just wanted to touch bases real quick for now! Been dealing with some IRL stuff recently but it's mostly taken care of now. I want to be more productive very soon! ^^

Loki

Okay let's make this short and simple: I'm still not done with Quick Fics: A Taste of Freedom. Here's some quick stats:

• Overall progress is about 70%

• Loki's solo scene is done

• Anna's solo scene is 50% done (<--- I'm currently here)

• Threesome scene is written but no art

Anna's scene is holding me up because I keep finding ways to rewrite her scene. I do like the latest iteration so I should be able to move forward now. It's frustrating because this delays the project again but the actual writing/rewriting process is actually enjoyable to me and I think the overall script is better for it.

I'm sorry to delay the project again. Just know that I'm giving it my all. I won't set a new deadline but I want to do weekly project updates until the project is finished. I feel like the longer I don't talk about the project, the more I feel pressured to give a massive update. Weekly updates, no matter how small, should hopefully relieve that pressure.

Anyway, I took a break from Quick Fics to draw Loki because she actually got a mythic alt! Kinda surprised me but I'll never say no to more Loki content ^^ Couldn't be arsed to draw her outfit though, just wanted to draw her quickly haha

The other image is a CG from the first version of the project when the story is just solo Loki (this was back in October last year) Let's just say the current version is far superior in terms of story and characterization BUT I still like the CG's I've drawn for it :D Just thought I'd post it too as an extra.

Quick Fics: A Taste Of Freedom

• TL;DR: I'll release the project after 2 weeks.

The last week of March was pretty hectic (family came over for the holy week) which disrupted my schedule and routine. I basically got nothing done for the entire week.

As for progress update:

No addition of CGs just yet because I just keep finding stuff to change/add everytime I go over the script lol.

Anyway, I should be able to finish the project in 2 weeks. Or at least that's my goal. I have a big project lined up that I'm excited to work on buuut I promised myself to finish what I start so that's what I'm gonna do. Besides I really liked how this one turned out so I want to give it the love it deserves ^^

Unicorn Overlord

Drew some more UO fanart. I stopped playing it (and games altogether) to focus on Quick Fics but since I didn't finish in time, I'm allowing myself to continue the game as a reward anyways lol. I need a break.

Anyway I finally wrapped up Elheim and my god the game just keeps getting better. I love how Rail-her-now's design is straight out of an eroge. But what I loved the most in Elheim was Alcina's backstory and the parallel with Yahna and Alain. If you know, you know, no spoilers ^^ Yahna is now in contention for best girl, Ochlys still number my 1 tho! :D

My GOTY even though I haven't finished it yet. I get super inspired whenever I play it to the point where I so badly want to make a similar game plus persona 5's dating mechanic. Obviously, I'm aiming for a simpler game as a whole but that's what I'm planning for my next project.

Don't want to get ahead of myself though. We'll talk about it once I wrap up Quick Fics.

Quick Fics Update

Time for an update! A lot has changed since the last time I posted (since 2 weeks ago) Let's start with some quick stats:

Writing: 4.6K/5K

BGs: 3/4

CGs: 11/???

I shortened the intro and setup because it was a tad long and I wanted to focus writing the H-scenes.

Loki and Anna's solo Hscenes are done. Only scenes left are the threesome scene and a short epilogue. Even with the compressed intro, we'll easily break the 5K wordcount. Which I don't mind at all, I'm having a blast writing ^^

Same goes for the CGs, most solo scenes are done so the threesome scene is next. I think the build up to the scene is great and I'm really excited to draw it! Not only because I think the scene is smoking hot, but also because I haven't drawn threesomes at all. This should prove to be challenging as it is fun and my body is so ready!

There's still so much to do but there's only 1 week left. Like I said in the beginning, I'm gonna release whatever I finish at the end of the month. But since I'm already so far along, I might as well finish it to completion. This little story of mine deserves to be finished :D

Overall, I'd put the project at 60% complete at this point.

And that's all for now, I'm exhausted but it's the good kind of exhaustion. It feels good to see things coming together. Now lemme go back to playing Unicorn Overlord, I haven't progressed at all because of Quick Fics (which is actually a good thing in this case ^^)

Ilenia

Clip Studio Paint 3.0 just dropped earlier so I had to test it out. The reduced file size for timelapse files are a huge QOL for me because I pretty much always draw with timelapse on nowadays and file sizes can get very huge. They also added a time elapsed counter, pretty neat. According to it, this took drawing me 3 hours and 34 minutes.

I drew Ilenia from Unicorn Overlord. Loving the game so far, I've spending a couple of hours every night and just got to Drakenhold and met Virginia who looks strikingly like your mom lol ^^ Love the art direction of the game so I wanna draw more UO, but Quick Fics takes priority right now! And the rewards as well!

Anyway, just wanted to drop this real quick.

Didn't expect Hilda to do that well considering I'm drawing her as an adult, but I guess that's why she won? Either way, I'll do my best ^^

Quick Fics Progress Update

First week of March is over so I wanted to talk about progress so far!

Writing

Currently at 2K words. It'll probably max out at 5K. The intro and setup is taking me longer to write and rewrite because it needs to be solid for the story to make sense. But other than that, writing is fairly quick and comfy.

Art

• Sprite Art: 2/2 (Loki and Anna)
• Expression: 2/??? (Loki, Anna, Summoner)
• BG Art: 1/3 
• CG Art: 6/??? (2 finished, the rest are sketches)

I decided to simplify the character designs (by undressing them lol) to focus on appeal rather than accuracy. I don't think you guys mind, right? :P

FEH Anna's design is too bulky for Quick Fics so I gave her a one-piece dress to reveal her curves. Also made her look a little older just because I can ^^ Her pose is a bit stiff though but I'll make it up to her in the CGs (where the real action happens :P)

Speaking of, I'll be focusing on CGs next, which is the bulk of the artwork. My goal is to have a lot of CGs for the H-scenes (different angles, pans, cut-ins, etc etc)

This is the most fun part of the project for me because I get to play with dynamic shots (in ways I couldn't with regular pin-up/illustrations) My favorite CG right now is a shot of Loki's hand holding something. On its own it's a simple shot, but given context and combined with other CGs, it's 👌👌👌👌 Kinda hard to explain with just words so I hope I'll be able to convey the 👌👌👌👌 in the game ^^

I think I'm off to a great start, got some real progress done. Overall, I'd put the project at 30% complete at this point. Still got a long ways to go but I just need to keep up the pace and just keep doing it :D

November Rewards & Update!

Long time no see guys, went through some stuff in the past month but I'm getting back to the swing of things. I've got a few things to talk about so let's get to it!

1. November 2023 Rewards

2. 2023 Wrap Up

With November rewards finished, the 2023 Patreon cycle is now officially over! Please note that I paused my Patreon in December so there won't be content for that period. 

3. 2024 and beyond

And with that, we're caught up to 2024. We'll open up January Fan art suggestions soon to get that rolling.

I also have an update for Loki's Quick Fics which is now called Quick Fics: A Taste of Freedom. I rewrote the entire thing because I wanted to include someone else in the action :P It's FFM threesome to be absolutely clear. Any guesses who the other girl is? Here's a hint: she's an FEH OC but she also appears in the mainline games :D

By the way, Nanoreno just started. For those who don't know, it's a month long game jam to make a Visual Novel/story based games. I'm not qualified to join it with Quick Fics, but in the spirit of the jam, I'm gonna try to finish A Taste of Freedom this month.

I know some of you are going "Ah shit, here we go again", which is a totally understandable reaction considering my history lol. All I can say is I'm just gonna release whatever I finish by the end of the month.

A big reason why I couldn't finish it before was that I was attaching my ego with the project. The fear of failure and disappointing people really hurt my ability to produce stuff because it had to be grand and it had to deep or meaningful or thoughtful etc etc. This time, I'm gonna wing it and just have fun with it. Whether it ends up an unfinished slop or something worthwhile, I'll just do it and get it over with.

Beyond that, I want to work on more ero VNs/games. I have so many ideas, but I seriously need to finish what I start first.

I debated streaming my process, but in the end, my crippling social paranoia won't allow me to do it. Instead, I'll make a video after the jam and talk about how things went. I'll post updates here as well whenever I have stuff to talk about, but the video will be the official end of the project.

So the Choose Your Legends event in FEH is in progress and I had this massive urge to draw Rhea to show support ^^. It's basically a popularity contest where the winner receives a new official outfit in FEH. I was thinking of doing this for the entire week of the event but I don't draw fast enough to do daily art (at least to a degree that I'm happy with) And besides, I've got other stuff to finish!

I also tried animating but... let's just say it was a learning experience! 😉 Spent 5 hours (mostly fumbling) on this. Listen, I'll look back at this one day and I'll feel proud(hopefully) of how far I've come along in animation. For now, this is the best I can do :P

Happy Birthday Rhea💚💚

It's that time of the year again to celebrate the best thing to happen to gaming (in my experience anyways!) Happy birthday to the one and only Rhea! ^^ Felt like drawing her in a kimono this time, but I ended up focusing on her curves anyways 😁

The astute among you may recognize the 1st image. I've been slowly going over Emerald Dawn CGs. Right now, the biggest issue is consistency. It's very easy to go overboard in 1 CG only to realize that I need to match that quality across the rest of the CGs. Not complaining btw, just realizing how much more time I need to go over all the CGs + the new ones. It's gonna take a while, but hey I'm in this for the long haul :D

I also resumed work on Quick Fics. Look, I know I'm maybe spreading myself too thin, but my attention span is actually so fucked up that I can't focus on just 1 thing alone. And I like plugging away at different tasks everyday, it's not very efficient but it helps calm down that part of my brain that constantly demands progress.

In other news, I didn't forget October rewards, I'm still working on it. I slowed down a little because I was having a hard time coming up with ideas for Nerissa and Micaiah. I'm not very familiar with either of them so I'm just winging things. I did watch a few dozen shorts of Nerissa but I think I ended up defaulting to simple stuff anyways ^^; Here's a WIP!

Should finish this set soon so we can move on to November rewards and finally wrap up 2023! Slowly getting there ^^

Wiz & Nerthuz

Got back yesterday and decided to do some simple stuff to warm up. 6 days of not drawing anything made me feel a bit weird.

I've got so many stuff I want to do and accomplish for 2024. I don't want to get ahead of myself and talk about deadlines and schedules because you already know how that would turn out lol For now I'll work on October rewards (it's Nerissa and Micaiah) and square away 2023 rewards.

In other news, I finally played Persona 5 (after having it in my backlog since it released on Steam) I haven't gotten far just yet, but it already gave me a lot of inspirations. In particular, I enjoyed the social/dating-sim elements and I want to explore a similar gameplay system in a project later (after Quick Fics) Also, Ann made me want to draw bodysuits so I did it for Wiz! I was also pleasantly surprised by New Year Nerthuz so I drew her in her new outfit :D

I want to do better in 2024. That's my only resolution for the new year. Hope you guys enjoyed the Christmas break/holidays! ^^

I'm so sorry but I didn't manage to finish update Version 1.1 of Emerald Dawn. 🙇🙇

Currently, I'm about halfway through the CGs (11/30). Even after delaying October and November rewards, 3 weeks simply isn't enough to go over all of Emerald Dawn unfortunately. My rendering technique is also evolving a little bit, which makes the drawing process even longer (I do love the outcome though! ^^)

So, change of plans. No updated calendar for now because it's hard to pin exact dates for these:

• Emerald Dawn version 1.1 is delayed
• Will work on Oct rewards soon and hopefully finish it this month (winners are Nerissa & Micaiah)
• November rewards will be pushed to January 2024
• December 2023 rewards will be paused so I can catch up more easily

I've been grinding a lot, but I really need to take a break. Gonna chill for a few days, spend time with the family and recover creative energy. All the good stuff. I'll be back soon though because I don't want to interrupt my grind for too long because it's so easy for me to regress and rust.

Schedule changed once again, Quick Fics is gone from the calendar. I'm putting it on least priority because I want to focus on 2 more important things for 2023:

• 1. Catch up on Patreon Rewards

I want to finish both October + November rewards before 2023 ends. If I manage to do that, I will only be working on 1 rewards set per month which is the ideal set up going forward. That will open up my schedule by a lot so that I could work on other projects (like Quick Fics, some small game ideas, maybe doujinshis, etc etc)

• 2. Update Emerald Dawn

These are my goals for Emerald Dawn Version 1.1, in order of importance:

• Improve art consistency
• Add a gallery/extras screen
• Very light edits to the script

Part of the reason I put off updating it for so long is that I don't have a very consistent art style. You can see this in Emerald Dawn's art itself but also in my Rhea pieces in general. I did some early redraws back in June-July but I was demotivated by my own inconsistency.

Lately though, I feel like I'm getting closer to solidifying my "art style" (the grind hasn't been for nothing yay!) and I can't wait to start the redrawing process. Excited to see how it would all turn out. Actually if you look at the September rewards, I redrew/fixed the Rhea meditation pic and that's kind of what I'm going for, I think it's an overall improvement.

Currently, there are 23 unique CGs (29 including the Credits sequence) I want to go through all of them plus fix some sprites. That's quite a lot to go through in only 3 weeks but it's mostly fixing stuff so it's not an impossible task, which is a good thing because I want to add more CGs lol :P

Unfortunately, this means I wouldn't be able to add the new scenario called Dance of Life. The good news is I can always add it later. After I'm done with the update, I'll try to make a schedule for Dance of Life. I'm not very good at scheduling and deadlines as you might already know, but hey gotta fake it till you make it ^^

I've been experimenting making brushes for close up shots and I think I made some decent ones. So I decided to try it out with Rhea and I quite like how it turned out!

Don't really have a lot to say, so I'll leave it at that ^^

Couldn't stop thinking of Rhea so I had to draw her! I didn't end up finishing the 2nd one because I thought it lacked the 'oomph' (I drew it first and that tends to happen when I haven't warmed up) But I like how I did her legs so I figured might as well post it :D

A quick note about Emerald Dawn, I plan to release an update for it on December 22 (its 1st anniversary) Not sure if I'll be able to add the new story, just basing on my schedule right now. But I want to at least redraw the majority of CGs and add some more. I really like my drawing process right now and I want to see if I can improve Emerald Dawn's overall art.

Anyway, that's still far off, I need to focus on current stuff. When I do manage to squeeze in more time, I wanna draw Wiz too. It's been a long while since I drew her ^^ Anyway, that's all for now.

Quick Fics Update & September Poll Winners

Sorry to disappoint again but Loki's Quick Fics is not quite ready yet.

First, here's some quick project stats:

• Writing: 2977 words (about 100% complete)
• CGs: 5/10 (5 finished, the others are in various WIP states)
• BGs: 2/3
• Sprites: 0/4 (Loki, Summoner, Anna, Sharena)
• Scripting: 50%
• UI, Music, SFX: 0% (least priority)

Last week, I said that I worked on this project enough and my thinking was to just release it, even unfinished, but I ultimately decided against it. I've become really attached to my little project and I want to do it justice.

There's probably sunk-cost fallacy going on here, because I'm not gonna lie, I've thought about throwing the towel and moving on. But I want to follow through my own goals that I set for myself, can't let myself run away forever.

Besides, I am genuinely having fun working on this project, especially now that I'm in the directing phase (putting things together, scripting scenes, reworking scenes) The process in itself is very challenging creatively but it's also really fun because of that. Even if I have to redo a scene or redraw stuff, I can feel myself improving in my craft. It's a great feeling. It's not a complete feeling though, because at the end of the day I want people to experience my creation.

Anyway, I missed my deadline so maybe this is just one big cope lmao But hey, at least I'm not sick! I actually feel like my body has adapted to the pressure. So with that, I'm setting a new deadline for Quick Fics on November 28. Time will tell if I can meet this deadline, but my body is ready so let's do this!
