Against the Cult of the Reptile God: FINISHED

5 Maps, 19 unique versions, and just over 1 month of effort

Another Campaign Finished! Recreating these old school and very focused campaigns is fun, fast, and, satisfying.. we will continue this style with the next Campaign, The Village of Hommlet.

All Maps for Against the Cult of the Reptile God are completed and include the Foundry ready files.

Here are the links for the FINISHED campaign.

Against the Cult of the Reptile God: The Reptile Dungeon (Lower Level)

Greetings adventurers:

And just like that we are done with another campaign! This was nice to keep the pack compact with 5x maps and many floors.

Next week I'll release the Finished Map Pack post including the Foundry Files. Oh, and I'll announce the next campaign :)

Scene Flavor:

The walls of the dungeon's lower level naturally wind into the dirt. The trickling noise of water aggravates the ears and the smell is somehow worse.

The dampness is inescapable, as...

Against the Cult of the Reptile God: The Reptile Dungeon (Upper Level)

Greetings adventurers:

We are cruising through this campaign. This dungeon was pretty large at 56x80 so expect the lower level to the dungeon next week.

Scene Flavor:

After a wearisome trek through a seemingly endless sea of thrush, the adventurers will see a low barrier of mud and wood. This dike keeps the swamp waters from flowing into the dungeon's gaping hole.

The descending muddy wooden stairs are slippery. The stairway descen...

Against the Cult of the Reptile God: The Temple of Merikka

Greetings adventurers:

Our first temple with several various floors for any need.

Scene Flavor:

The granite wall around the temple is 20' high. The gates are strong and wooden. Carved into them with precise craftsmanship is an ornate carving of the chaotic good goddess Merikka, portrayed as a beautiful young woman. The temple building itself is made of solid granite blocks.

Against the Cult of the Reptile God: Inn of the Slumbering Serpent

Greetings adventurers:

Another inn or tavern to aid you on your adventures. Always a nice utility map to have at the ready. I'm enjoying these multiple floored maps that give a nice variety within the same location. Although, they do take more time and attention :)

Scene Flavor:

The Inn of the Slumbering Serpent establishment is not fancy, but offers a homey atmosphere that most travelers find more pleasant than the cheerless Golden Grai...

Against the Cult of the Reptile God: The Golden Grain Inn

Greetings adventurers:

The Golden Grain Inn is our first stop in the village of Orlane. It serves as your typical tavern.. definitely nothing wrong with it.. No, the bar keep isn't avoiding your glance.. No the ale doesn't taste off.. Is it usually this quiet in here?

Scene Flavor:

The Golden Grain Inn is a large two storied wooden building. It is decorated with carvings of sheaves of wheat along the eaves of the roof. The inn was whitew...

Greetings adventurers:

This one was a delight to combine a dense castle ruin with the wooded hills.

Tor - a large piece or area of rock that sticks up from a hill, or the hill itself. Not a word I use everyday but it makes for a great tactical map.

LMoP: Ch3.2 Old Owl Well

Greetings adventurers:

Over half way through this campaign. Thinking we will have a poll for which campaign is next.

Scene Flavor:

As you crest a low ridge, you spy the crumbling ruin of an old watchtower standing amid the rugged hills. The place is so old that the walls are only mounds of rubble enclosing a courtyard of sorts, adjacent to the broken stump of an old tower. A colorful tent is in the middle of the courtyard, but no ...

LMoP: Ch3.1 Agatha's Lair

Greetings adventurers:

Deeper into the woods to Agatha the banshee's lair we go!

Scene Flavor:

Winding further into the woods you see a home of sorts. It is blended with the forest and sheltered within the dome of woven branches. It is sparsely furnished with chests, shelves, a table, and reclined couch, all of it elven craft.

LMoP CH2.1 Redbrand Hideout

Greetings adventurers:

Cruising through this campaign! Nice to break the outdoor pace with some dungeon crawling.

Scene Flavor:

At the bottom of the stone staircase stands an unlocked door with a cellar beyond. The door opens onto a five-foot-wide landing fifteen feet above a large cellar, with stone steps descending to the floor in two short flights. A large stone cistern occupies the western part of the room, whose walls are lin...

LMoP CH1.2 Cragmaw Hideout

Greetings adventurers:

It feels good to get back to map making. There is something relaxing about creating art.

Scene Flavor:

The entrance to the cave complex was under a large hill, and had a shallow stream flowing out of it. It had four main rooms and several smaller trails linking them. There was also two large pools of water, which could be released to cause a flood. A crudely made bridge linked the room at the end of the rive...

Update: Return to Map Making with LMoP and New Subscription Model

Adventurers,

It's been a minute! After finishing the Red Hand of Doom, I enjoyed a much needed break. Life was getting a little too busy between starting a new job and finishing some house projects. All good things that are important to my family. I've since finished most of the house projects and am settled into my new job allowing me to find the time and get back to Canvas Quest.

It's clear to me now that creating maps for campaigns will be the star of this P...

The Red Hand of Doom: FINISHED

20 maps, 38 floors, 71 variations, 126 versions, and 6 months of effort.

It feels equally triumphant and bittersweet to finish this project. The Red Hand of Doom still is my favorite campaign to run and will always hold a special place in my heart.

It's through our attempts at something and the many failures in between that we forge a better person. Journey before destination.

How to: Import Prepared Foundry VTT Files

So Canvas finally got around to learning Foundry and preparing the files.

I am not a Foundry expert and look forward to improving these prepared files in future maps. Constructive feedback is appreciated :)

RHoD CH4.5 Cathedral Steps (30x30)

Greetings adventurers:

This map holds a special place in my TTRPG heart. This is where my first PC died and the party failed. One lay slain in a duel with general Kharn, another taken capture, and the third fled taking his only living family to fight another day.

This map can be a fun boss fight or a scattered and tactical slew.
