The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update+ 05/April/2024

A really successful week this week!

After some suggestions about multiple choices on the same screen from a few amazing patrons, I looked into how to do that and if it would work for the character creation.

And it really has! I could cry it feels like there’s finally a solution, lol! :D

It does mean I had to completely start over, but with how it looks now, I think I have found how I want it to be for all the future books. It means I should just be able to copy everything ...

That Bit Extra - Detailed Map - Rivett Pond & Grounds

When the town of Wayhaven originally came into being, it was a dock and warehouse-focused centre with little need of recreation or green spaces.

But as the warehouses fell into disuse and the docks became something used more for fun than commerce, the residents needed somewhere green in town.

And Rivett Pond & Grounds was formed.

Landscaped on the top of an old waste mountain used by the warehouses, the eyesore was transformed into a beautiful space with a rippling pond ...

The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update+ 29/March/2024

Very much a same-thing kind-of week! Writing and getting prepped towards the demo.

I mentioned before about having a different system in place for Book Four when it comes to editing and testing. The plan is to write one chapter, completely do all my own editing and testing on it, then move onto writing the next chapter. Whilst I then write the next chapter, the previous one can go to the editor before then going to the readers and testers.

The World Of Wayhaven - The Cornerstones

Built as the residential space of those who originally founded the town, The Cornerstones has remained the occupancy of the more influential and affluent members of Wayhaven.

Not only do the houses here stand out for their size and grandeur, but also for their uniqueness against the rest of the town's architecture—formed mostly from the skeletons of the redbrick warehouses that played a key role in the function of the busy docks.

An Extra Glimpse - Collaborative Project Planning Vid - Look of a Character

For the penultimate video in this planning series, I thought we would talk some about forming the look of a character.

The obvious place to start for this is pictures. Images. Which you can totally do and is a very inspiring way to go. I’m a very visual person myself, so it always works for me.

But what if that’s not the route you want to take? Sometimes it’s easy to go for the obvious when you look at pictures.
