Insta collage 1

Recent posts to my Instagram.  Technically all of the posts are recent since I made the account less than a month ago, I suppose.  The app's photo filters make my phone camera's terrible snapshots look almost passable.

This time it's Aggretsuko, some miscellaneous critters, and a smattering of Ozzie.

Takeoff

Some fun times with painting in SAI.  Finished it off with the horse and some color adjustment in Photoshop because I only have so much patience for SAI, hahah.

I'll include both the horseless and horseful versions of this in the download packs for this month in case anyone is inclined to use them!

My original mascot that I've had for almost a decade now.  I've been doodling her in a few different forms recently, so here's a compilation!

Space Gays

Characters from the Firefly game, Indy and Pen.  They're the only members of the crew taller than 5' 3" which is simultaneously hilarious to me as none of us planned this and unfortunate for the smaller characters, being more or less in constant danger of getting an accidental elbow to the face.

Pen concept

The campaign for the Firefly-based tabletop game my good pal is putting on started this week, so apologies in advance, there's a lot of space cowboy spam on the horizon.

So here's Mk. 1 of Pen Woodlock, my character.  Pilot, cat person, caffeine addict, good at aiming and bad at punching.

Character I've been kicking around for a Firefly tabletop game my pal's hosting.  He'd be better at flying the ship if his cat didn't keep getting in the way.

Sketch page: D&D japes vol. 2

Recent doodles from the Dungeons and Dragons campaign.

Our kender rogue, Pippah, straight up DIED to an unfairly strong water monster (but was quickly resurrected thanks to our cleric's mulligan staff); our rat mascot found a spell that made him dog-sized; our ranger, Bowie, will not stop licking things that turn out to be monsters; and our sorcerer, Ozzie, got clawed in the face by a hag and the destruction of a demonic artifact she'd been carrying around caused her magic to go nuts.  Sh...

Wizard for Hire

A hypothetical D&D character that I haven't used yet.  I don't usually do references without clothes for humanoid characters because for the most part, humans don't have noteworthy body markings.  But for Astrid here I took inspiration from bronze and copper and the patina that appears on the metals so there's a lot more variation than I would typically use.

Figured that pretty much any color I picked for her costume would clash with that goofy skin color combo so I thought I mig...

Tutorial: brush settings

My friend needed some help with setting up painting in Photoshop, so I threw this together for him.  Figured someone here might find it helpful as well!

These are more or less the settings I use for every brush I paint with in Photoshop.  The brush itself may change, but these three settings stay fairly consistent!
