Oh my GOSH! This volume has my HEART! We finally get some backstory on our main man Nomiya, and I not only feel a dozen times more for our big-hearted goof, but his resolve in this volume is so darn INSPIRING! I love it!
And we have tiny touches of Togawa and Hisanobu is FINALLY introduced to Wheelchair Basketball...and we may have the beginnings of a monster on our hands!

Well, well, show...it only took you 37 episodes before you drew tears from me. But here we are.
This set of episodes was an emotional ROLLER COASTER -- from the excitement of Sawamura pitching (and pitching WELL) to the hilarity of the Todoroki duo, to the utter shattering of SOULS as Raichi proves you can pitch perfect...but he's still going to knock it out of the park.

Okay, first, let me apologize for my dogs. They are usually so good during reactions, and for some reason, something startled them and they barked at the LEAST appropriate time. Please forgive them. -__-
But aside from that, this OVA was really touching! Violet has made SO MANY strides since especially Episode 3, and I feel this was a huge step in her moving forward with her ability to feel and become more "human" -- closer to her goal of understanding what it means to "love."

UHM...this may be my favorite episode of the ENTIRE SERIES so far.
You can tell that this episode likely skipped or compacted a LOT from the novel. I definitely realize there's probably a lot of novel readers that aren't happy about it, but this donghua-only girl thought this episode was so concise and AMAZING! So many twists, turns, and HOLDING HANDS WANGXIAN DLJDKLSFJDKLFJDKDJFDKFDKF....*brain fizzles*

Oh my gosh, this volume was GREAT!
There was heart-clenching moments with Togawa and Azumi aiming for her own goal, now; the real stars for me were the "Three Muskateers" and Nomiya.
Takahashi, Hanasaki, and Shiratori all striving to move forward amidst their "demon senpai, Hara-sensei," and Nomiya being a STRAIGHT UP LEGEND. Seriously...that graduation scene!

I officially LOVE the father-son Todoroki duo! They pose a legitimate threat to our team and have a unique and interesting backstory and motivation!
I have a feeling this "dark horse" Yakushi is going to make for an exciting opponent against our Seidou boys! I'm SO curious to see how Furuya, Sawamura, KawaKami, and the ace Tanba (YEAH!) handle ol' Raichi ...and how the sparks will fly further with Coach Todoroki vs. Miyuki! @_@

This episode, Violet and Iris visit the latter's hometown, and boy, was this episode relatable! Between Iris's struggle returning home, to unrequited love, to Violet slowly and subtly learning more about the courage it takes to admit one's love...we're seeing our stoic soldier slowly "bloom."

This may be one of my favorite volumes in the series so far!
This volume is all about "goals." Hisanobu has based his entire life on ranking himself and others; and dealing with his own inner demons, but meeting Shiratori and Hanasaki has caused a "chemical reaction" that has shed some new light on reality for him, and while Nomiya wants to create a "reaction" of his own, his actions may very well be a catalyst for something HUGE with his rival, Hisanobu himself.
