Finally took a bit of time to do an art pass for lockpicking. It still needs some proper textures and animations but it's a lot better than the placeholder cubes it was using before.
The tavern quests are mostly in and working. These are the intro quests that will introduce the player to the tavern, how things work, and the people that work there. I did a pass on the slime girl basic animations. She now has a new basic idle, walk, and run animations. I lost her original animation files way way back when my last computer blew up and she's needed some updates for a while.
As for quests... the player will soon be able to join the Redtree guards. Guard duty will come with regular pay (after every shift), a new uniform, and the knowledge that the player is protecting their community. There might be a few fringe benefits as well ...

Work on the quest writing and scripting continues apace! But I also needed a bit of time to recharge and take a break from trying to trace out all the different contingencies for the quest lines. Which meant working on the armor and blocking systems.
Armor will now reduce damage by a percentage relative to the armor value. This only applies to the body slot for armor. Gloves and helmets, at least in this first iteration, won't change the overall armor value of the character.

Things have been a little off this entire month. The week of fixing bugs and getting the hotfixes out set things back and then this last week I had some family stuff to take care of. So I'm a little bit behind where I would like to be with the quest writing and scripting. But the good news is I'm back at it and plugging along now! No fancy screenshots this week as I've mostly been doing work on the game mechanics. So the plan for this month is to juggle some stuff around, get some quests roughed out and in game, and do some gameplay loop iteration.

The biggest thing I'm trying to fix is the bug when exiting the tutorial level. If the exit hangs on a black screen and doesn't load or else teleports you to the middle of nowhere on the map then hopefully that's fixed now.

I pulled the tutorial map over and updated it enough to fit with the newer mechanics. It still needs some proper love but it'll be enough to get new players up to speed on basic mechanics and hotkeys.

Everything is still very work in progress but it's coming together. The cave layout is done and I've done a first detail pass adding the larger props and some lights. So that should be on track for this next build.

Just a quick update this week.
I was able to get both rigs done on the mushroom folk so they're all set to start animations soon.
Started on the solo animations for the female imp.
Updated the crafting UI to show the necessary ingredients and if those are present in the player's inventory.
Continued working on the ruins tileset. Putting the pieces together to make walls, columns, all that jazz.

Took a little break from doing animations and character stuff this week to let myself recharge. Mostly focused on doing environment work this week.
The stone wall, pillars, and archs are for a ruins / dungeon tileset that I'm putting together. There's a few extra pieces I want to do and then I'll need to do damaged version of these. But this is the foundation of the tileset done and ready to be put in the map.

I made all of her facial blendshapes, did all the rig setup, and then went and started animating. This is the first winged flying character I've done so I might need to come back and do some more polish after getting more practice. If anyone is running into the bug where they constantly respawn after exiting dialogue - this hotfix should fix that. When I updated the dialogue text system I forget to reset the flag after the player respawns... so they think they always need to respawn.
