Demon quest scribbles and characters sketches

i tried to work on the second page for "Demon Quest"  but i needed some background antagonists for the fight scene coming up.  now the lizard guy i plan to use in 3 different stories as side characters

here in demon quest as a bandit leader

the second is for a scifi racing story called "Galaxy Prix" where he is the early rival racer to the protagonist (if you have ever seen the anime the red line, that was the inspiration) 

the third (i have not designed yet) ...

as i was doodeling along i realized i am not 100% satisfied with this design 

it's nothing too drastic..  his shoulders, belt, knees and bracers just need a bit of tweaking so i am going through my collections of armor parts and cropping things out to see what works

one page! ONE MORE PAGE! and i cant finish it until i find the right background model.  im looking for the building where you meet with the head NPCs to set up the next story missions.   

i feel i will have many more hours of folder searching tonight

riggify

working on a new rig. this time using blender's "riggify" addon.  when downloading other models with better rigs then mine i have seen very similar layouts to riggify so i am giving it a shot

Zweihander: Sir Galad

on of the main antagonists from my fan comic idea "Red Shetland: Zweihander" 

because he is undead im trying to giving an otherworldly and ethereal feel.  i need to do more test drawings to get the right effect down though

i cleaned up some of the sketchyness with the pencil bush 

because pencil brush is cool.

penciling it up. wish i had found this pencil brush a lot sooner.  because it almost lookst like the real thing

i could not make the water color brushes work for this folio so i just  went back to the oil and acrylic brushes.

and for "bunny log" i re did the line work with a pencil brush.  simplifying the lines a lot and redid the painting 

it looks a lot better and took a fraction of the time.  i spent most the day trying to get the water color to look right until i came back to the acrylic style.  later i will try the watercolor again on "demon quest" and see if i...
