Goblin sketches

Some sketches of a stylish but semi-feral little goblin lady. I don't know what her deal is yet! The design was heavily inspired by some Psychonauts fanart I found, but I liked the look so much I'd like to work it into more of my own thing and maybe come up with a story for her sometime.

Family Members

Ameerah Khan (28) is a tabletop RPG fanatic who loves D&D (she plays both online and in person - this is her comfy online mode.)  You can tell the comic takes place in the slightly recent past because her mood is "excited about the upcoming Critical Role show" and not "pissed off about OGL stuff."  She used to be annoyed by her little sister wanting to butt in on her games with friends, but now that they're adults she's always hoping Saffy will play in one of her campaigns -- so...

Things are getting kinda heavy! As people noted in the last one, a lot of this really stems more from Parker's own insecurities than anything Saffy's done. They probably should have talked through some of this stuff before they were in the desert with no food.

Workout Buddies

Velma and Daphne from the new Velma show. I love the show's take on Velma, who's smart and perceptive but also kind of a judgy little mess, and the occasional jokes about her being out of shape are a bonus. Plus she's hooking up with the skinny, image-conscious popular girl, which makes for a nice contrast. Definitely check the show out if you get the chance, especially if you like Harley Quinn - it has a very similar vibe, and I'm enjoying it a lot so far!

The College Years 2

Four years ago: Saffy's wondrous metabolism faces its greatest challenge yet. I guess you might say she got her just desserts. I guess you might say pride goeth before a full. 

The most fun thing here was drawing all the Swiss baked goods! Some of these aren't really Christmas-related and not all of them would ship well, but don't they have the best names?

Kaneeka

This is Kaneeka Forsythe, one of the potential love interests from the indie horror visual novel Scarlet Hollow. She's not actually a Halloween witch in the game, just a gothy veterinary student with a mom who likes herbal tea. If you haven't played the game, I recommend it through the roof - it's got an intriguing story, fantastic art which nails both the cute/sexy moments and the horrifying/grotesque ones, a trait-based character creation systems which provides tons of replay value...

Switched

Huh, I didn't realized this wasn't already up here - Switched, from the very first Muffintop anthology around 2013! One of the last things I did before I switched to full digital art. Sometimes it seems like time goes fast but other times I look at something like that and I can barely conceive how long ago it was. (It also appears to predate me knowing how saving throws work in D&D.)

Regrowth

I was going back and fixing some of this old stuff up when I realized, hey, why not just put it all into one convenient new post instead? So that's what I did! Here's Regrowth, which first appeared in the 2014 anthology Muffintop II and is now released to the public for the very first time.

There's a debate in comics about whether it's okay to copy-paste elements.  I've seen some some people take duplication to extremes that are just distracting (having a crowd of people dancing in the background that stays motionless across multiple panels, that sort of thing) but if I'm doing a series of panels like this one that are all from the same angle with the same rough layout, I'll happily duplicate the base, copy it over for all four panels, and customize it from there. Saffy's hair has been a little off-model for the last couple pages, but that's because [I tried to draw it from memory] it tends to fluff up after it gets wet. It'll settle down by the next page because [I went back and actually looked] it dries fast in an arid environment.

Thanks to everyone who voted in the poll!  There was clear support for fixing up all those blurry old pictures (three-quarters of respondents), so I'll work on that some this month. That works out great because I'm going on vacation next week and I won't have my drawing setup with me anyway!

Originally the whole back-and-forth with the visitor center lady went on much longer, but it really wasn't necessary nor was it coming out particularly funny or sexy or visually interesting or anything else, so I cut most of it.
