Poll #398—Dungeons & Lairs Adventure Path #1... ish

Hey all!

After next week's D/L adventure, the writers will be composing a 4-5 piece adventure series using Dungeons & Lairs. These adventures will be able to stand alone as usual, but you'll also be able to combine them into one large adventure.

Below are some prompts offered by the myself and the writers. Vote for the one you like best.

One-Word Prompt #124—Undercity Section H5

Hey all!

The poll for this section is currently rolling with early leads from stirges and mushroom folk. While that's being decided, let's get kicking with some one-word prompts.

Usual rules apply:

  • 1) Keep it clean
  • 2) No proper nouns
  • 3) Two words per patron (put them in separate comments)
  • 4) The words "defenestration" and "mirrors" are banned from overuse
  • 5) Nothing too anachronistic

Poll #397—Undercity: The Dangers of Area H5

Hey folks!

We've got a new DM joining my store's team, so I need a brand new 1st-level spot for them to tackle.

The characters will enter the map through area 8 (I'll probably relable it) and search from there.

This will be another 1st-level romp, so I'm going to need you all to help me pick the 1st-level baddies for this location.

Poll #396—A New Genre or New Mechanics?

Hey all!

In a previous poll, I mentioned that I'm interested in setting up a new system of tiers here, which we can better organize with the new collections feature. This is how it would work.

  • 1) There'd be a new tier that offers content that isn't just 5e adventures. This will either be a new genre or something adjacent to 5e fantasy, such as player-facing content or all-new mechanics.
  • 2) The higher-level tiers will get access to everything that's issued.

Poll #395—Undercity D3 Theme

Hey folks!

D3's got a slight lead in the current Undercity poll, so I figure it's time to start figuring out what's going to be there. Worst case scenario, if E2 wins, I can just do another poll.

Instead of monsters, this time, I think it'd be cool to have some unique themes for the place. Below, I've created a few themes that I think would fit well with this part of the dungeo...

One-Word Prompt #123—Bloodstone Manor

Reping: Hey folks! I'm about nine words short on this one. Let's go ahead and get some more in even if you've done two. Thanks!

Our big October release will officially be titled Bloodstone Manor. We've got many cool things we're doing with this one, including playing it in the store with a full set of 3D tiles and minis. We'll get lots of pics of it, too. Once the game is done, we'll release this approximately sometime around the end of October.

Because w...

Poll #394—Undercity Continues... but to where? 🤔

I hope you guys are excited for the big release coming up next Wednesday, the 4th. So far, we're going to have areas A2 (cleaned up a little), A1, B1, C1 (just finished), D1, and D2 all finished and ready for you.

I'm going to take a little break from the Undercity to work on October's release, which is being kept a biiiigggg secret (yes, it's spooky).

In the meantime, let's f...

Poll #393—The power of collections! New content?

Hey all!

Here's what's up. I'm going to focus on two major things going forward.

  • 1) Dungeons & Lairs every Friday forever. So get comfortable, as we'll be hitting #100 relatively soon.
  • 2) Undercity Megadungeon on Wednesdays. I'm having too much fun. I want to keep it going, especially since I just hit my all-time record for rooms stocked in a single location (over 200 and counting). And since I'm using Tim Hartin's maps, I...

Poll #392: Undercity Release Schedule

Hey peeps!

I'm cranking out hunks of Undercity at a pretty rapid rate. It feels good to have my flow back.

Of course, now I've got a back log of four spots you all haven't even seen yet.

How would you all like me to release these?

One-Word Prompt #122 - Undercity C1

Hey all!

I'm about to finish up for the day, so I figured I'd give you all a one-word prompt to close out the day. This is for Undercity section C1.

Here's the rules:

  • 1) Two words per patron (in separate posts)... so everyone gets two! That ensures I won't have to double-post to get words for this one.
  • 2) Keep it clean
  • 3) Nothing too anachronistic
  • 4) No proper nouns

Poll #391—Undercity C1's Dominant Monster

Well, well, well... A1, A2, B1, D1, and D2 are done.

This means that I have officially broken my personal record for a stocked dungeon, having stocked over 200 areas since starting this project last Thursday.

And there's still one piece left in the northwestern branch of Undercity: C1!

This section of Undercity will be set for a party of 6th-level adventurers.

Poll #390—Section (probably B1)'s dominant critters.

Hey all!

I just put up a post to see which section of Undercity we tackle next, and it looks like it's going to be B1—unless something changes drastically.

So it's time to pick out some new monsters for this section. As usual, I've picked some random monsters to go with the adventure. I'm going to make this one another 5th-level adventure since it's likely the current group at our store (who just hit level 2 in section A2) will inevitably reach that section.

If it does end...

Poll #389: Undercity... where to next?

Okay!

So, since Thursday I've completed sections A2, D1, D2, and now A1. But where should we go next?

For context, here's the map of Undercity from Tim Hartin. Sections with a red border are those I've done. I'm going to spread out from those. I just need you guys to tell me which one you want to see next.

As far as releases go, I'm just waiting on art from Nacho/Matias. ...

Poll #388—Undercity A1 Dominant Monsters

Wow! Moving through this ol' megadungeon pretty quick. TJ, one of the DMs, already needs me to put A1 together, the section directly north of the first one, A2 (previously titled A3).

A1 is split into two main sections, so I'll need dominant monsters for both sides.

The top two monsters become the dominant critters here.

Poll #387—Undercity D2 Dominant Monsters (there's going to be four of them!)

Hey all!

Great news—D1 of Undercity is finished and in proofing, and A2 (previously A3, but I counted wrong) is off to the printers.

TJ, the assistant manager at my store, will kick off the Undercity campaign tonight, starting with D1. He believes that their next location will be D2. Therefore, that's got to be my focus.

Also, he said, "It's gotta be D2 because of R2-D2".

Fair enough.

Below I've picked some 5th-level monsters for that part of the dungeon....
