Pick the one that you like best. The highest voted creature is the dominant creature featured in that section of the dungeon.

One-Word Prompt #119—OSR Megadungeon Dive

Reprompt: I'm 2/3 of the way done, and I'm out of prompts! If you've submitted a single prompt, you can go ahead and do another one! Thanks!

Hey all!

My store in Norman, OK is running regular D&D games here and, ironically, one of the GMs started tossing folks into the Dungeon of the Mad Mage. Those of you who've been with us for a while may remember the Mad Mage games we ran back during the pandemic. I figured we'd do something similar here, with different groups ent...

In the harsh and unforgiving world of Helkara, there is no respite from the brutal sun or the endless darkness. On this desolate planet, each turn is 176 Earth days long, with 88 days of scalding sunlight followed by 88 days of frozen, neverending darkness. The only refuge from this eternal cycle is the twilight region near the north pole, where life can still flourish.

Poll #384: Region and World Maps—Detailed or Blanks?

Hey all!

I've been toying around with world maps and have been using it to help me clear my thoughts for writing. As I'm making these, I was wondering if you all want these just as they are—totally blank, no labels—or with details to go along with them?

Let me know in the poll below.

New Patron Feature: Collections

Hey folks!

After years of bugging the people at Patreon, we've finally got access to collections. This allows us to freely sort and organize our content, making it easier for you to find what you're looking for. This is still very much a work in progress, but I've already started up collections for Dungeons & Lairs and Just Passing Through, our two most popular series.

Here's the support file for it: 2023-09-13 15:23:58 +0000 UTC View Post

[All Patrons] Just Passing Through: The Village of Stormholme

As you approach, you see a rustic village nestled in the foothills of towering, snow-capped mountains. A cold river cuts through the settlement, its banks dotted with modest homes and wooden structures. Farmers tend to small fields, and the distant sounds of a blacksmith's hammer punctuate the air. Some people move hastily, casting cautious glances towards the surrounding hills and the path from which you arrived. The atmosphere here is a mix of industriousness and apprehension, as i...

One-Word Prompt #117 - Giant Rat Crypts (plus, FREE maps)

Hey all!

It's that time again. I'm knocking out content left and right. Currently, I'm making an adventure set in the village of Rapids involving the High Priest of the Whitewater Chapel, creating horrible rat monsters in the crypts below the graveyard.

Yes, it's totally riffing on that Cabinet of Curiosities episode.

Anyway, I need some one-word prompts. Usual rules apply:

  • 1) One word per patron.

[All Patrons] Just Passing Through: Rapids

Nestled beside a raging river, the village of Rapids presents a tableau of rustic charm offset by a sense of constant movement. Thatched-roof cottages and wooden buildings line the dusty roads, their inhabitants going about their daily chores with a sense of urgency that matches the river's ceaseless flow. The village is a waypoint along Alaric's Path, a major thoroughfare that leads to the capital city of Thundertop Vale. This adds a layer of diversity to the populace, as travelers, traders,...

Poll #382 - Dungeons & Lairs Volume 2 Labeling

Hey all!

As we're kicking off the next batch of Dungeons & Lairs (Volume 2) that are tied to the traditional fantasy setting of Veramar, I'm curious how we should label these adventures. They'll have the exact same vibe as Dungeons & Lairs, but will have a bit more direction and cohesion to them.

Below, I've got some branding ideas. Pick the one that you feel makes the most sense.

[All Patrons] Just Passing Through: Alaric's Landing

Alaric's Landing is a small, intimate hamlet perched on the edge of the Azurean Abyss. A major throughway intersects the community, providing an essential link to other coastal areas. Encircled by the mysterious Whisperwood, the village is shrouded in both natural beauty and a quiet sense of seclusion.

The hamlet's peaceful atmosphere has been recently disrupted by unsettling visits from creatures known as thornwalkers. Emerging from the Whisperwood, these plant-like entities have incit...

Poll #381 - Help pick a minis agnostic skirmish game theme!

Hey all!

I've just wrapped up the third adventure for this month (winter wolves!) and next and booked out the other two with the original collaborator crew. I'm taking a breather right now before I jump in on the last bits of Gamemasters Survival Guide content I need to sew up and thought I'd crank out a little minis agnostic skirmish game a la Forbidden Psalm/Kill Sample Process/The Last War.

Essentially, it's a minis game that you can play with any minis you have. You send...

One-Word Prompt #116—Winter Wolf Blizzard

Hey everyone!

I'm on my third adventure for the month, which should debut two weeks from this Friday. It's called winter wolf blizzard, and it's a bit of a call back to an old adventure I wrote (I can't remember the name for the life of me). A deadly winter wolf alpha called the Fenric Winter Wolf creates a deadly blizzard to trap the party, hoping to coax them into retrieving a special magic item for it.

There are a variety of blizzard-based encounters in this adventure as well a...

Announcement—Back on Track

After some soul-searching earlier this month, we've gotten things back on track a bit with adventures. As of this writing, I've got two adventures done and ready to go. The first will drop tomorrow (a day early) to make sure it gets out before the close of August. It'll have a FoundryVTT pack. We also have a FoundryVTT pack for the Drurdelm Tombs adventure I wrote a couple of weeks ago that'll drop tomorrow.

You can also expect the two missing Bucklers to hit tomorrow.

From there,...

[All Patrons] Frostlands: The Complete Arctic Survival Guide: Equipment and Treasure for Viking-Themed Campaigns

When the word "Viking" is uttered, many think immediately of battle-hardened warriors sailing the seas to raid and pillage foreign lands. However, the Vikings were not just raiders but also settlers, traders, and colonizers, deeply embedded in a variety of economic practices. As they established colonies and engaged in commerce with other civilizations, they relied on a nuanced system of transactions. Given the broad scope of Viking economic practices, covering them all is impossible. However...

In addition to its fish market, Arnarhvall is famous for its booming sheep trade. The aroma of haggis, the local culinary specialty, wafts thr...
