Last call for likes! If you haven't already, go through the monsters and like the three that you like the best. Tomorrow at 9am CST, I'm going to go through and figure out which ones are getting made.
Thanks all!

This month, I want to do something a little different. Our friend Nacho Lazaro is back to help us with some creature designs. I've had him make a few typical SRD 5e monsters, but thought it might be more fun to have him do some original creations.
But ...

Don't run into one of these kitties. Not only will they tear your face off, but likely they'll scare the pants off of you before they do it. They do this by pulling back the skin and musculature of the faces, revealing the skull underneath. And if that wasn't bad enough, they emit an ear-splitting screech why they do it. Just awful.
Gods only know what sad, sordid soul created these monstrosities. No matter, as they now plague the eastern grasslands. A bane to hunters and tra...

Zombies are great. Necromancers love them. Adventurers hate them. But the problem with zombies is that they're usually so damn slow. The reason for this is simple: most zombies come from commoner stock. Hating this pain point, a clever necromancer came up with dread guards. A dread guard is a zombie created from a recently deceased warrior shortly after passing. Okay, sure, usually the warrior passed because the necromancer killed them (details, details). Either way, because the reanimating p...

Witches comprise an elite sisterhood of spellcasters who draw power from their homeland. Within their borders, their powers are greater than other spellcasters of their level. In their society, homeland witches occupy the place reserved for powerful clerics in most cultures. They heal the sick and wounded, care for the souls of their followers, recruit champions from other planes, and raise the dead.

Wow!
The 10th issue! We're officially in double-digits (well, we were last month if you count the Compendium, but still). Hard to believe it, but that's nearly 600,000 words of content in the year. To put that in perspective, that's roughly the size of Tolstoy's War & Peace—but you know, with dungeons. And also dragons.
Anyways, enjoy!
This edition of BroadSword is more than a year old and has been archived. It is available for purchase in Print and PDF through...

Skeletal scourges superficially resemble rank-and-file animated skeletons, however, they are blessed with limited magical capabilities. Defensively, they can cast blur making it hard to hit them. But it's their offensive abilities that leave a lasting impression with adventurers—skeletal scourges are able to cast magic missile at will. Necromancers love to place these creatures in long halls, tall ramparts, or other distant locations so their unerring innate spells can pic...

Hey all,
We've had a few changes this week, so I've had to go into the schedule and clean it up some. This is the result.
I've broken down all the rewards with tentative dates when content will release. I'll be using this as my "Agile" board, too, so I can visualize what needs to get done. I also plan on doing a bunch of it ahead of time, too, to ensure I'm on schedule.
Anyways, if you see something is missing or you have questions, let me know in the comments below.

Hey all. Sorry for being quiet this week. Unfortunately ice storms in the Midwest have knocked out power for thousands, myself included.
Hope to be back up and running before the weekend.
Thanks for your patience.

An autognome is a mechanical gnome with gears, pulleys, and bits of magic inside it. The tinker gnomes create the autognome for exploration, rescue, prospecting, and defense in environments hostile to human- and demihumankind. It works just as well as any other gnomish invention (as in not very well at all).

Although angels are often thought of as the forces of true good in the Cosmos, they are still bound by their own set of laws and ethics. Orzans have no such restrictions. These celestials strive to do good by any means possible, even if it means breaking a law (or following one, for that matter).
Orzans come in many shapes and forms, often appearing as humanoids with animalistic features. Listed below are some of the most common types of orzans.

Created through dark magic and forbidden funerary rites, mummies are undead creatures who rise from their tombs to protect long lost treasures, avenge past wrongs, and follow the will of dark gods. The rules presented in this document offer players a chance to play a mummy in Fifth Edition. Since the mummy has certain advantages and disadvantages that might change the dynamic of the game, be sure to ask your GM if it's okay to play one before creating your character.

Now, before you say "but they already did this!" I want to stop ya and say, "Yeah, I know."
However, the vampire race WotC presented was a pretty big pivot from the stat block they put in the monster manual. With this, I took the full monster (and its spawn), reverse engineered it, balanced it against similar race/class builds, and then structured it so that if you want to become a full-fledge vampire in Fifth Edition, you can.
Keep in mind that vampires have a lot of strengths. S...

A close relative of centaurs, satyraurs have the bodies of giant goats or sheep with the head and torso of a human. Their heads combine both ram and humanoid features. Males have large, curled horns, whereas females have horns that jut straight from their heads.
The satyraurs are skilled warriors that travel the Cosmos in flocks, which rarely, if ever, split up. Like the satyrs from whom they borrow their name, satyraurs are known for their playful and raucous attitude, love of merrimen...

Astral reavers scour the planes in search of clueless extraplanar travelers to raid, pillage, and exploit. They're not above working as mercenaries, either, and do so for a fair price considering how deadly they are in combat. Thanks to their ability to travel to the ethereal plane at will, they are capable hit-and-run tacticians. Few of their opponents have the ability to respond to these tactics.
Reavers resembled large, muscular humanoids covered in thick, leathery skin. They have fo...
