Hey all!
BroadSword #1 is on its way to the printers. I should have a proof, hopefully, by next week or the week after at the lastest.
For those interested in getting a first look, here's a preview of the first 15 pages.
I'm sure there's going to be typos. LOL... but hey, the old school mag's had a shit ton, too.
Enjoy!

This article is part of the Monster Hunters series that will appear in BroadSword Monthly.
. . .
Monster hunting requires incredible organizational skills and plenty of teamwork, especially when faced with challenges that are beyond-deadly. For this reason, many monster squads establish set rolls for its members. Your role offers the overall direction of your character, but is, by no means, handcuffs for how you portray them.
You choose your cha...

Hey!
I'm breaking ground for the October BroadSword's horror issue and the monster hunter setting I'm putting in there.
I need some ideas for monster hunter stuff:
- Subclasses
- Items
- Spells
- Feats
Looking forward to see what you all come up with!

So, in addition to the return of requests, I'll also be tossing in BroadSword Previews. Furthermore, I'll be closing off roughly 2/3 of it on the blog. That way, only patrons will have access. For example, if I make a dungeon with 24 rooms, you've got to become a patron to see what's in rooms 7-24 and so on.
Right now, I'm working on the Monster Hunter campaign setting that will appear so expect to see material relating to that coming up.
Enjoy!

Here are the requests I've created for July so far. Remember, all tiers get requests now. For details, turn to the about page.

Hey everyone! I'm tossing in a bonus this month for requests. All patrons get a monster request, even if they're at the $3 copper tier. It won't use any of your normal requests for the month.
These monsters will appear in the Halloween issue of BroadSword.
Here's what I need from you if you want to participate:
- A brief 100 words or less description of the monster, specifically what makes it scary.
- The monster needs to probably be CR 8 ...

After putting together a new list of feats today for a request, I noticed that most feats shake out to around 50 - 100 words. So I figured: why not offer rewards for everyone?
Here's how it will work. Everone gets a number of words per month at a rate of $0.10 per word. So if you're at the $3 tier, you'll get 30 words.
You can then cash in your words for content whenever you like. Just drop me a message on here or PM me on Discord.
Here are rough counts of what you can expec...

In addition to the return to requests for Patrons, I'll be taking the requests I make and put them into BroadSword Magazine. Because of our creation schedule, it will probably be a 3 month lag or so until you see it in print, so expect to see requests ahead of time in PDF format.
If you aren't already a gold or silver tier patron, check out the benefits now for upgrading.
Thanks, all!

Hey Platinum and Gold members!
I'm ready for your July requests.
Here are the new rules:
Patrons at the Gold $25 Tier will get one 250-word request per month. This can be:
- 2 feats
- 1 spell
- 1 magic item (non-artifact)
- 1 monster (non-legendary)
- 1 race
- 1 non-creature encounter (trap room, etc.)
Patrons at the Platinum $50 Tier will get one 500-word request per month. This...

I've been stewing on it for a bit and been doing a bit more research. I've decided to reincorporate requests into my Patreon. Here is how it will work:

Hey all!
Big thanks to Scott for getting this PDF together. Trial of Heroes is a throwback to the Challenge of Champions adventures from Dungeon Magazine. It was a ton of fun to make and probably in my personal top 10 creations of all time.
Hope you enjoy!

Happy end of the month, folks!
You probably notice I've been quiet the last week. I've been working on three things:
- First, BroadSword Magazine is getting its layouts together. Scott and I have been hard at work to make sure it perfectly captures the look of the old magazines.
- Next, I'm working on the psionics book. It's probably going to be bleed into next week some, but I'm nearly done with everything I want to put in it.
- Finally, I've been hard at ...

Hey all!
Working my way through the content for Complete Psionics.
So far I've got the Psion class, 12 subclasses, rules for Wild Talents, new monsters, and plenty of psionic powers going into it.
What else would you like to see in it?

Here is the first major part of what I'm working on for June's book.
Psions! A lot of you guessed that's what it'd be and you're 100% right. The book will feature this class (fixed up), plus a few subclasses, monsters, and a whole boatload of new spells/power and mechanics.
Let me know what yout hink!

Heya folks,
This week, I've probably put 30,000 words to paper, mostly kept in the background. So sorry if I've been quiet. I've got a new book that I'm working on that's a revival of an old 2nd edition book as well as working on the content for BroadSword magazine.
This new book will have all sorts of nifty stuff:
- 2 new full classes
- probably a few new subclasses
- new Fifth Edition game mechanics
- new spells
- new monsters

Hey all!
Sorry for being quiet lately. BroadSword's kept me pretty busy (as well as work) so I've been a little quieter than normal.
Just a heads up on what I am working on though. I should be putting up a new character class soon in full PDF format.
In fact, it might include TWO new classes haha
So keep an eye out for that. :)

So who are the big winners of the class poll?
Looks mostly like the classes of the wild:
- Barbarians 40%
- Druids 24%
- Rangers 12%
- Bards 8%
- Monks, Rogues, Sorcerers, Warlocks 4%
- Clerics, Fighters, Paladins, Wizards 0%
What really stands out is the high presence of bards, more so than even rogues and fighters.

As we continue to build out our unnamed "Kaiju World", I wanted to send out a poll to see what you all think the most important class in this world is.
This doesn't have to be the most common class, but the one that's most needed in a world dominated by powerful monsters and punishing seas.
Once the poll is done, I'll place the classes in order. The most important one will get a dose of lore while the "least important" will have a reason for its diminished status.

As you can see, most of the world has been drowned by the seas and there's hardly any ice caps left. The remaining lands are covered in desert, jungles, and dense swamps.
Let's narrow things in a bit more now since we have our theme.
We need a base of operations for our starting party.
What ideas do you all have for a good base of operations? Bonus points if you find a spot on the map to place it.

Okay, so we've got some thematic ideas for our "Kaiju World."
But what should its dominant terrain type be? I'd like to keep it narrowed to a single type just to give it a little more flavor.
Choices are below! Vote once!

This new PDF is HUGE. So it took a little time to work on.
Anyways, here it is, the Trader class. I am VERY happy with this way it turned out and I hope you like it, too.

Perhaps it's because we've all got Godzilla fighting monsters on the mind, but it seems that a lot of folks were kinda interested in an idea of a semi-post-apocalyptic world over run by colossal monsters.
Here are some of the elements I want to work into this:
- A series of cities built on the back of massive ancient creatures that serves as guardians and local "gods"to the citizens. Also think a sand ocean would be interesting so i guess sand pirates

Hey all!
A while back I did a Wandrossa campaign setting that got everyone involved with the process of building a campaign world. And while that may have been a little extreme in its execution, I think the core idea--a community built campaign setting for Fifth Edition--was pretty good.
This month, I'd like to try to do that again. This time, though, it will be solely through polls and content suggestions and none of the game play that goes with it.
Before I get sta...

Hey all! Writers' block is kicking my ass this week. I've written a bunch of content, sure, but I can't seem to fall in love with anything.
So I thought I'd turn to you all.
What sort of content would you like to see the first week of June?
Looking for any ideas that will fill a 10-15 page PDF.
Thanks!

Say you want to do an all human campaign; perhaps you’re doing a modern horror setting or your campaign is a sword and sorcery epic. The problem with that is that there isn’t a whole lot of variety there. In fact, the necessity for having “races” at all vanishes. Humans either get ability score increases across the board or they’re the variant human with two ability score increases, a skill proficiency, and a feat. Yawn. Boring.
However, I think I’ve come up with a simple so...

I've created scalable lizardfolk for your enjoyment! This one was pretty fun and, for once, I didn't need to rely on Legendary Actions/Resistance to push it over the top in terms of damage.
