Here are some pictures of the backstage of the photoshoot at the maison de maitre. La maison de maitre is a fantastic location in the heart of Brussel for photoshoot but it's has a very bad lighting configuration. Thing that greatly destabilized me during the shoot, we even had to use our emergency lighting. At that time I was only a natural light photographer with no practice in artificial light. It's from that time I really try to prepare my shoot in term of lightning situatio...

Morgane Walbrecq is a professional model here in Belgium, it's the kind of model where you just have to press the button (just kidding).
The best advice I can give to a starting photographer is to work also with pro model, to understand that good pictures are collaboration between a photographer and a model.
This series was shoot with the famous film Ilford delta 3200, that why the image is so grainy. I only use this film in low light condition, in my opin...

Here is one the contact sheet of one roll of Portra 400. As said before the waste rate is quite low compare to digital. On one roll of 16 pictures up to 8 are acceptable. This low waste rate is may be the major point of shooting film in the digital age.
The second benefit of shooting film could be the fact that you need to post process less you image than with digital. I think that Film is made to look good straight out of cam, I find that digital is made to be great...

The contact sheet of a 16 exposure Kodak Tri-X 400 film: developed in D-76 and scanned with my CanoScan 9900F mk2. As we can see the waste rate is greatly reduced with film, here on 16 images out of at least 4 good ones.
The second contact sheet is a color film probably from the Fuji PRO 400H (which is no longer produced). Here we see that the waste rate is even lower than with black and white film. On 16 images, more than half are acceptable. I wish I had such a low rate ...
