Thanks to you all I am able to afford to go explore fantastic historical locations like the US Naval War College and now the USS Hornet! This was an extremely exciting visit and I hope that the exploration of the ship gives you a greater appreciation for the grounds eye view of history and what it would have been like to serve during critical moments in history like the Battle of Midway.

Just wanted to give you all a sneak preview of some artwork that just came in. Its for an upcoming episode about the showdown Caesar had with his mutinous legions before embarking on his campaigns in Africa. This moment does a fantastic job of highlighting the importance of the relationship between a commander and their men and especially shows why Caesar was able to command such high loyalty.

We just published a documentary on the Battle of Midway. It's a cool video because I get to explore a new time period and also because its the first video where I attempt to integrate in live footage of a historian narrating the event. What do you think of the format?

I'm sure everyone saw that video from "Voices of the Past" regarding the Chinese historian's account of ancient Rome. I loved the video so much that I decided to make an accompanying video for you all to provide context for Roman-Chinese interactions. I'll follow up with another, more detailed video looking specifically at the accuracy of the historian's account. Would you all like to see more collaborations with "Voices of the Past"?

Tomorrow I'll be releasing a video about my trip to visit the US Naval War College in Rhode Island. As a part of the tour I was actually brought in to a classified Wargaming facility. No recordings were allowed but I've done my best to re-create the details.
Basically the building is filled with lots of offices and meeting rooms with a main hall for wargaming. This room is basically a gym sized computer room. The walls are mounted with large TV screens and the center is filled wit...

In our previous video on the Roman Civil Wars, I got asked how the legions managed to tell each other apart during the infighting. This video is a response to that question which broadens the scope a bit to discuss friendly fire in general.
Hope you all enjoy! Any other questions you'd want answered?

This episode is derived from a letter of the account written by Pliny the Younger which tells of a friendship between a boy and a dolphin that went so viral it nearly destroyed the town that was flooded by rowdy tourists from across the Empire.
Let me know what other wacky topics you think would be worth covering

Our artists is sending over some of the final scenes for the upcoming video on the Heroes of the Siege of Jerusalem. In this epic piece, you can see one of the Jewish champions standing atop the rubble challenging any Romans to face him. At this very moment he has just slain another soldier and roars in triumph as a Roman Centurion who has seen enough readies his bow.

Our video on Ching Shih led me to take a closer look at the southern China. This along with the recent protests which have drawn world attention led me to make an episode on the History of Hong Kong. Most videos start with the colonial period but here I got to the very foundations of the city. Hope you enjoy!
