1 Million Views!!!

I've been on YouTube making documentaries for a while now and just reached a huge benchmark! My first documentary episode ever just passed 1 million views!!!

Its really cool to look back and see the progress I've made. While the passion has always been there, the production value has dramatically increased. Thanks for helping me continue to evolve and improve!

Misunderstood Moments in History - The Spartan Myth [Patron Charge]

We have just released the latest Moments episode which takes a closer look at the claims propping up the Spartan Myth. Thanks to your support we were able to actually pay for a PhD Historian to help with the research and come on afterwards to do a follow up livestream to field questions and answers.

If you have any questions you would like to bring up for the episode you can post them here and we can use them as a part of the discussion in the livestream.

With Assassin's Creed Origins coming out next month, I have decided to put together a documentary exploring its historical setting. This image is a part of the discussion about the Ptolemaic army of the time. Definitely a huge shout out to Robbie McSweeney for his amazing work in support of the upcoming "Misunderstood Moments in History - Cleopatra's Egypt"

Upcoming Video Plans

I wanted to give everyone an update on our plans for upcoming videos. At the moment we have a lot of episodes in development but the release schedule will be driven by some of the sponsors I am lining up.

We have a good chance of getting sponsored by Assassin's Creed Origins so expect a video on Cleopatra's Egypt! Additionally I am working with Call of Duty to see if they can get behind an episode on the Huertgen Forest of WWII. Lastly the Great Courses Plus would like me to plug one of  ...

Alexander's 9 Lives Progress Update

The script for the episode has finally been completed along with the majority of the artwork. I will now be able to advance to the editing phase.  This will likely take a week or two as this episode is a bit longer than most and I will be including more maps than usual.

Once the episode goes live it will be our first Patron sponsored documentary!

Should we buy this music? (Part 2)

A week ago we were approached by  Satyr Productions who suggested we use their music in our documentaries. Typically they charge $150 for each soundscape package but we have negotiated a $70 price tag in exchange for some promotion. Below are some interesting excerpts of their work:

Should we buy this music?

I was recently reached out to by the director of Satyr Productions. They were suggesting that I consider using their "Heroic King" score for our documentaries: https://lmaw.bandcamp.com/album/the-heroic-king

It looks to be $150 for 29 tracks of varying length. There may also be an opportunity for us to commission specific themed music in the future.

Curious if you guys think we should go for it? If so...

Artwork Teaser (Exclusive)

I am happy to announce that both the script and artwork are under development for our next Moments episode: "Alexander the Great's 9 Lives" which will focus on the many times the Macedonian commander cheated death. In this awesome piece of art by Robbie McSweeney we witness Alexander being shot through the chest at close quarters while storming a Malli fortress in India.

25% Funding Goal Reached!!!

I am extremely proud to announce that within a week we have been able to reach 25% of our funding goal for the entire quarter! Thank you all for your support and contributions.

This money will be spent to increase the amount of books we can access for our documentaries. These will not only be used by our research team but also by the art team as reference material to make the visuals even more historically accurate!

Once again, thank you all so much for making this possible : )

A Huge Thank You!

I wanted to thank everyone who has contributed to this campaign! As we speak I am working on putting the finishing touches on a documentary that will hopefully drop in the next few hours. This episode involved an external researcher and artist as contributors and will be a model for how I do collaborative work in the future. With your help we will be able to replicate this model to great success : )

I can't thank you all enough!!!

I also want everyone to know that I will be following up ...
