Weekly dev blog: More Content

This week I added the first encounter with a group of mean girls in the academy. There are a few possibilities in how you handle this, and it will affect your relationship with the "queen bee". Eloise got a mini-quest for you (if you didn't help her over Charles) and the shower scene now is worked into this context (you won't be able to meet her showering if you don't do the mini quest first, or if you aren't friends with her already).

Both these chararacters got some minor adjustments ...

Weekly dev blog: Moving Along...

So, I have been having some back pain issues the last few days, so I had to take things a bit slower today, and I did some general miscellaneous stuff (art-related editing and other small tidbits). Hopefully this won't be a big problem, and the rest of the week will go as usual (so long as I don't lose much sleep like yesterday, it should be fine).

The Professor's Pet

Here we are after one week. I did work on TOTDC 2 for a couple of days, and then I got back to Caliross. So far, I got an intro for the academy, a daily "freebie" system (you can ask a professor to help you craft some useful items, once per day) I wrote the intro for another prof and her lessons, as well as a mini-game to go with those (succeeding during 3 lessons will net you a new spell). The professor is also a pretty woman, and her door is always open if you need help (sexy moments ensue)...

So, I am back to work, after the hotfix. For today, I focused on TOTDC 2, however. I might do the same tomorrow, before getting back to Caliross-related content. Needless to say, I will still be focusing on the magic academy, that just makes sense. There is also a bug with Baal the dragon (it causes a crash). If more bugs pop-up, I'll definitely prepare another hotfix, so if you noticed something, better tell me now!

Getting back to the magic academy, I have a few things I already know ...

Hotfix: Don't Play With Fire

So, one of the tests for the academy was bugged if you completed an unrelated event previously, because I somehow re-used the same variables. >_< Sorry everyone. Specifically, it was the quest "Here Comes A New Challenger", completing it before the academy test would softlock the game (at least doing them in the opposite order didn't cause issues).

Anyway, I fixed this, fixed the test when you went to take the practical test (it was the same as the written exam) and I fixed a ligh...

January Update: Back to School

First release of the year! Also, first attempt at tackling some of the content from the poll to give Caliross that last bit of extra content before completing it. It's just the start for the academy, but hopefully it's fun. Some of the scenes you can unlock in there will likely get contextualized and/or moved elsewhere once the area is more populated with stuff to do, but for now, some amount of "placeholding" will be there.

Weekly Dev Blog: Saved By The Spell

I finished the written part, which will be a set of 5 questions from a pool of 15. I hope the holidays are treating you guys well! I am back after taking a week off, and I decided to start working on the magic academy! I think I have a good idea for the admission part, and then I'll go from there. It should be fun to see some familiar faces around the academy, and hopefully I can work in some new interesting characters as well.

The Road To Version 1.0

So, last poll about Caliross 1.0 got a good amount of votes, and I think the clear winners are the magic academy, the orc village and the Outcast story arc. There is a significant gap between these and the rest, I think it's fair to say. While small elements of the other choices might appear here and there, I think I should focus only on these 3 as additional content for 1.0, and then we'll say goodbye to Caliross.
