Quick Lighting Tip!// Try this!

Hi Pals!  Here is a quick lighting tip for those times when you are almost finished with a piece and the lighting is looking too flat or boring.  Or maybe you just want to experiment a little!  

Either way, this is a quick little exercise to try out some lighting schemes that you might not usually feel comfortable trying!

Tips to Draw Anything! {monthly tips article/guide}

When it comes to drawing, we all have subjects we are more comfortable with and subjects outside of our comfort zone.  An easy trap that artists fall into is thinking that they lack the ability to draw subject matters outside of their comfort zone.  “I can draw this, but I can’t draw that.”

A little bit of a blue piece this time.  

Sometimes when I am feeling low I think it does help to paint out my feelings a bit and try and turn that emotion into something of a beautiful artwork.  Maybe there is something therapeutic about it.

 For some reason I whenever I paint feelings of sadness, deep blue under water and long floaty hair is always involved.  For some reason these are just the types of images that always come to mind when I feel "blue."

✨December Sticker Update!

Hi pals!  I have an important update for this Month's (art pack 42) sticker!  

As I have mentioned before, Stickerapp has been unusually slow about finishing and sending out the sticker order.  

After a bunch of pestering them, they finally let me know why.  

Apparently the reflective material is temporarily out of stock, so they have been waiting to process the order until they have the material back in.  Since I have no idea when that material will...

Art Pack 42 Summary

Hello hello pals!  I have some news for you to read!

Adding more Story to your Artwork {monthly tips article/guide}

Oooomigoodness!  I finally finished this article for you guys!  I am pretty proud of this one and I hope you find it helpful!

In it, I go over how I have been practicing and learning to include more storytelling in my illustrations.  How I brainstorm illustration/story premises, character details, environment factors, how I play with colors, and lighting to help tell my story.

I have to apologize especially for the first part of the video!  I only had the video from the twitch livestream to work with.  I tried to cut out the most distracting parts, but as many of you know, I am super distracted throughout my entire streams, so there is a lot of me chatting on the side while I draw.  But I hope that for those that are interested in watching, it will still be fun to watch the sped up  process.

Pastel Ebba [rewards here]

Edit: I added a couple lighting variations to this piece.  

Here is the painting of Ebba that started out as a doodle partway through stream last night!  I quite like how the colors came out on this one.  

Since she is a knight, I also added a version with blood splashes but it is quite contradictory considering how bright the color pallet feels. lol. Which one do you prefer?

I got the urge to draw some quick artwork of my Lavellan character and Solas together.  This is purely self-indulgent mush that I need from time to time.  haha
