I actually didn't have the time to upload the sketch, yesterday, and by the time I was going to be able to do it, the final page was already finished, so I figured I'd upload both at the same time. XD
Anyways, there was originally a bit more stuff going on for this page, but Eli wanted to split the script up for this page so we can set.... "something" up more properly, for the next one. ;)

People should know by know that I'm a sucker for good slapstick; when I was writing this scene, I really wanted to show how devastating the Helios Ray would be at the highest setting, instead of just explaining it, and having Frankie and Val find out the same time as the reader would help drive the point home. ;)

I hope everyone is doing well, now that we're now past one year since "The Calamity" began. Personally, I'm excited that California's going to make the vaccine available to people 16 and older on the 15th or so, and a lot of places are conveniently starting to open up around the time that 2nd dose would take effect (so early/mid May). It's gonna be so nice being able to blow off steam again after, well, all that has happened!

So, the inspiration for the gang's first case was this youtube video I saw, years and years ago; something along the lines of "Youtube's unsolved mysteries", and one of them showed this guy who was apparently some kind of urban explorer, and his last known whereabouts was him entering a mineshaft in the desert somewhere (Don't remember if it was in Nevada or Utah), and he seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth.
I thought to myself, "maybe that could make for a good idea!", righ...

As of today, the US approved a 3rd COVID vaccine, and hopefully, it could mean that rollout will be faster than anticipated, even if it's a tad. All I know is that someone of my age/health should be eligible to get one around the summer (I hope, anyway), and I already know what I want to do once I get one: I'm going to try and start planning for my trip to Japan again, and with all the extra money I saved, maybe I could stay there for another week, maybe even get to have a side trip to Univer...

Sorry this took a while; Eli had to deal with IRL health issues regarding their family, and they also wanted more references for ACES HQ, since we never got to properly show it off in Chapter 1.
But yes, plot stuff is going to be happening, starting in this page. ;P
I should be able to have the final sketch around tomorrow, so consider this as something to chew on, until then. : )

When I was writing for this page, I figured I'd try to break up the plot setup with something more comedic going on in the background; it's also partially based on whenever I'd get up, only to find I don't have much time to eat something before I'd have to go out. Sorry about the delay; in addition to working on these pages, Eli and I are also working on another... more "saucy" ACES comic, on the side. It's most likely going to be exclusive on the Discord. ;)
Also, Page 8 hasn't been uploaded publicly yet, mainly due to wanting to make sure this is finished before I do that, so you guys have some more exclusivity time with it.
