Hey everyone!

I have been swamped at work this week as I prepare to take some time off for the new baby, so I only have one chapter of The Last Messenger ready for this week.

I plan on posting two chapters of The Fourth Secret tomorrow though since we are headed to the hospital tomorrow night.

Thank you for all the well wishes. I appreciate you all so much.

For The Last Messenger:

I opened up chapters 25 and 26 to Root.

I opened up chapter 27 to Harve...

Chapter 28 – Aael

“What?” Aael asked in disbelief. “How can you save the world with a single word?”

“That is what he said. I believed him and now I’m here with you,” the Abbot said, sitting down. He motioned for Aael to do the same.

Aael sat, crossing his legs. “I think—”

“Not enough,” the Abbot interrupted.

Aael smiled and closed his eyes, mimicking the now quiet Abbot. He couldn’t believe that someone would throw their entire life aw...

Hi All!

Some big secrets revealed this week. It always seems too early whenever I reveal these types of things. I felt the same in book three when many secrets were revealed. There are plenty more, so I don't know why I worry.

In personal news this coming week our baby arrives. So if for some reason I don't post this time next Saturday, it's because I'm at the hospital. I may post chapters earlier or later depending on how everything goes.

I hope all of you are keeping safe ...

Hi Everyone,

I hope everybody is doing well. We are making final preparations for the new baby, and things are pretty busy here. I'll still have two chapters of The Fourth Secret on Saturday, but I just didn't make as much progress as I wanted on The Last Messenger this week. Because of that, I only have one chapter to post today.

For The Last Messenger:

I opened up chapters 23 and 24 to Root.

I opened up chapters 25 and 26 to Harvester.

Chapter 27 - Aael

Aael shifted his weight, trying to relieve some of the strain on his legs. He had sat at the top of this tree for hours, watching his parents and Raph trudge toward the horizon with their fully loaded camels. His dad had insisted on taking so much back that a long slow trip was guaranteed. He knew his father never did things without purpose and wondered why Caden traveled this way. Was he buying time for himself or for Aael?

The distant trio stopped, and Aael mag...

Hey Everyone!

The audiobook for Uru's Third Temple went live today, which is great news for the audio lovers. I also finally bought a recorder so I can try dictating. It is one of my strategies to increase my productivity. Fingers crossed.

There were a lot of distractions this week, and I struggled to get my writing done. Again, you all saved me. Without this Saturday deadline, I shudder to think where I'd be. Probably somewhere in the second book still. Thank you once again for b...

Howdy, all!

I hope everyone's week is going well so far. The audiobook for Uru's Third Temple transitioned from "QA" to "Headed for Retail" on Monday, so it could go live any time. Until then, here are a couple more Last Messenger chapters.

For The Last Messenger:

I opened up chapters 20, 21, and 22 to Root.

I opened up chapters 23 and 24 for Harvester.

I added chapters 25 and 26 for Step Master, Blapy's Favorite, and Divine.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much ...

Chapter 26 - Caden

Aael looked down at his chest. “I’ve felt it. Twice.”

Caden nodded. “It continues to grow. The Abbot wants to take you to the Cloud Temple. He thinks it is your last chance.”

“Why not tell me about,” Aael waved a hand across his chest, “this, earlier?”

Caden leaned back. “We were scared it might lead to an accident. No one wants to see what happens if you open your Void again. You first need to learn control.”

“But I hav...

Chapter 25 - Caden

Aael looked up. “But this—”

Caden held up his hand. “Only you and the Abbot should know.”

“What if everyone—” Aael started.

Caden interrupted. “Will you remember it?”

“Yes.”

Caden relaxed the pressure on his Lym, and the three internal streams rushed out in a torrent while the three external colors were an almost undetectable trickle. Violet, the elemental source, sputtered out of him. But it would be enough. Caden...

Hi Everyone!

The big news this week was Travis finished recording book three. It is at the proofer now, and we will submit it to ACX/Audible early next week. The problem is ACX/Audible has been inconsistent with how long it takes to go live. So it might be days or it might be weeks or even months. My hope is it gets released this month.

I also decided (99%) on a name for book four: The Fourth Secret.

Yes, that means I have to reveal four secrets. Because of this, I've ...

Hi all,

I hope this week has gone well for you. As you probably already noticed I only have two chapters of The Last Messenger ready this week. This old story has required a lot more work than I expected, and I think the worst is yet to come regarding revisions. So I'm going to slow down a bit with these releases.

I opened up chapters 17, 18, and 19 to Root.

I opened up chapters 20, 21, and 22 to Harvester.

Chapter 24 - Aael

Aael floated in silent darkness, his mind empty, and his body distant.

“Si’Aln.”

The word vibrated across his thoughts, rippling like a wave. The sound pulled him from his peaceful numbness, and the back of his head started to ache.

“Si’Aln.”

Aael struggled to avoid the voice, but it came again, a third and powerful time.

“Si’Aln.”

The darkness shattered as a starburst of light exploded in Aael’...

Chapter 23 - Elu

Waiting in the dark, it didn’t take long before his mind wandered to the place it always did, to Lyllyn. His chest tightened as the pain, as fresh now as it was seventeen years ago, filled him. He tried to think of other times, of better places, but he failed. He always failed.

Elu still felt the heat from Lyllyn’s blood as it soaked his Ru’et. He stopped himself from looking at his chest because he knew it was just a memory, but every det...

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well. This week had some exciting news on the audio front as Travis started recording book three. He really brings the characters alive. I had a particular accent in mind for Lir, and I hope it turns out like it is in my head. I guess we'll see. In any event, I know it will be great.

I've spent some time thinking about book titles this week, and I have a candidate. I'm interested in your opinion of it. I know it won't make the most sense as...

Chapter 22 - Elu

Elu stared at the dead mage. Coyotes had dug the body up and shredded the man’s clothes. That the animals’ teeth hadn’t been able to penetrate the skin meant the death had been recent. It took months, sometimes years, for the magic in a dead mage’s body to dissipate. Elu couldn’t tell what had killed the man, who looked middle age for a mage.

Elu wondered what color that mage had been. The man’s destroyed robe appeared mostly brown, ...

Chapter 21 - Aael

He could feel the champion’s presence, the coiled energy and ferocity. He kept his face down, too intimidated to look directly at his hero. There was a long pause, but he didn’t look to see why.

“Old man, why do you insult me?” Washer asked.

“What do you mean?” replied the Abbot.

“What disease does the covered one carry, and why does he touch my weapon?”

“Sensitivity to the sun, nothing contagious,” the Abb...

Aael woke early, the despair from last night still in his thoughts. But he forced it away, because today he would meet Washer, and everything needed to be perfect. He put on his cleanest cloths and ran out of the house, his stomach too queasy for breakfast. As the workshop came into view, he saw Bacchus.

Navigating the benches in the workshop, Aael walked up to Bacchus and patted him on the back. Twin blades sat on Bacchus’s bench, sheathed i...

Hello Everyone!

It probably wouldn't surprise you to know I'm a bit of an introvert. For my day job, I've been working from home since March, and it hasn't bothered me a bit. Related to that, I find it difficult to share personal information with people. I just tend to be a private guy.

Why am I telling you this? Because the people who are part of this Patreon represent the people who resonate with the story the most. And that common ground between us is what makes you all so impo...
