I glanced at the snake passing near me.
It was the one responsible for biting my wrist and even though I almost died because of the snake's venom, I felt no animosity toward the small creature.
It was just an animal that didn't know better.

Food was given at the same time once a day.
7 - 12 hours after I woke up, a weird symbol would glow causing a small window to open by the door with the food being delivered.
There wasn't an actual set time rather it was as if the person delivering the food was procrastinating with the task or the distance between where I was kept and where they were, took some time to cover.
It was just me guessing at this point.

I hastily brought the plate to my face.
An unidentified smell stimulated my sense of smell. I didn't know what kind of food it was.
It was clear that the mix of things was probably a collection of leftovers.
Still, it will taste better than the moss that I had scraped. In fact, immediately after smelling the food, my mouth was salivating.

Waking up was usually a pleasant experience but after everything that happened on the SS. Anne, sleep had essentially become closing my eyes and then opening them. I never even felt that I had gone to sleep. Without any dreams, all I saw was nothing but darkness every night.
Maybe that was for the best since my mental strength couldn't have taken on the nightmares that followed.
