Desperado (1995)

DESPERADO this week guyz and girlz... This movie is very 90's but in all the best ways. Who gives a fuck if the mariachi's plan doesn't make a lick of sense?! What was he hoping to accomplish with his mariachi buddies? Why did the false guitar in the case always pop open? Why did that one guy always do a side lunge before firing his rocket launcher - it doesn't matter. This movie is cool as hell.

Did the ActionBoyz thank you for listening to all these episodes?

No?

Missing in Action (1984)

It's that time... We had to take another stroll through the endless corridors of the legendary action movie factory know as The Cannon Group Inc. This time we selected MISSING IN ACTION. If the sauna taught the Boyz anything, it's that this movie was a sequel to another Chuck Norris MIA film, but it was deemed better so it was retitled and released first. Which says less about quality of this one and more about how shitty the other one was. Fear not Babyz! It's got all the Cannon weirdness yo...

Toy Soldiers (1991)

It's high school fantasy time ActionBabyz and no we don't mean sex stuff you fucking sickos. When have the Boyz EVER discussed such things!? We're talking about working with your buddies to save your high school from a terrorist attack - we're talking TOY SOLDIERS. This largely unseen gem was most likely Sean Astin's dress rehearsal for the sports movie masterpiece, RUDY. Lots of prank talk this week also you'll be able to witness Stanger actually trying to be funny. If you're 5'9, 150 lbs, w...

Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot (1992)

Holy fucking shit....it finally happened. The Boyz are covering the mother of all movies. STOP! OR MY MOM WILL SHOOT. There is a lot about this movie that fucking sucks, but Stallone shouldn't be as embarrassed about it as he is - he's great in it! Keep punching, we're proud of you big man!!

Manhunter (1986)

You want the scent!? Smell yourselves ActionBabyz! This week's movie is MANHUNTER. Is it an action movie? Not exactly, but the Boyz promised thrills and chills for the month of August - remember? This beautiful piece of cinema has everything you've come to expect from an ABZ movie: sea turtle hatcheries, an erotic scene with a drugged tiger and family pets being murdered by a serial killer. So sit back, relax and put some broken pieces of mirror over your eyes so the Boyz can watch themselves...

Masters of the Universe (1987)

The ABZ have the power this week. That means the movie was MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE of course. All you need to know is Dolph Lundgren speaks with perfect diction, people always move from California to New Jersey to get a fresh start and Gwildor is a fucking God. Now, by the power of Grayskull hurry up and listen to this episode, the Sorceress has been trapped by Skeletor and she's aging rapidly- she's gone for 66 to 70 years old already!

Face/Off (1997)

Reaaady...Reaaady for the big ride babyeee! The Boyz were finally ready to take the ride and face off against FACE/OFF (the movie, not the hockey term) It's been a long time coming and this film does NOT disappoint. Great effects, great stunts, and great performances by Travolta and Cage. The kind of performances that only clinically insane people are capable of.  Don't worry, if the face transplant surgery is too far fetched for you, there's a magnetic boot prison escape. Get ready to "...

Death Wish (1974)

Well ActionKidz, it's the wish that started em all. That's right, the first of a beloved series and Mr. Paul Kersey's origin story... DEATH WISH. This one's got everything, Bronson looking buff and old, the creepy director  doing his creepy things, architecture, weirdly dressed criminals and young Jeff Goldblum's naked ass. Did we mention how ripped Bronson is? Really, The ABZ think he has a prime figure.

Drop Zone (1994)

It's skydiving season ActionBabyz - and what better movie to cover than the 12 time Academy award winning movie, DROP ZONE. The Boyz are the only ones "dick- brain" enough to pull the ripcord on their parachutes and land right smack dab in the middle of this love letter too skydiving culture. No other movie has ever blended beautifully shot skydiving sequences with horrible green screen close ups better than this one. This movie doesn't allow Snipes to be cool or Busey to be that crazy. And b...

G.I. Joe: The Movie (1987)

Yo Joe! This week the ABZ cover their first animated feature, G.I. JOE: THE MOVIE. Does it qualify as an action movie? Yo Joe! (yes) Does Burgess Meredith deliver as Golobulus, leader of The Cobra-La? Yo Joe! (yes) Does the amazingly strong, Hawaiian shirt wearing character, Chuckles, ever speak? No Joe! (no) This movie had no business being this good. Cobra -LaLaLaLaLaLaLaLa!!!

The Untouchables (1987)

Every once and awhile the Boyz aim high. THE UNTOUCHABLES is their latest attempt at high society. What is there to say except this is a great film? Sure it's not historically accurate, Costner's not doing much and the Ennio Morricone score is the star of the movie. But DePalma can shoot the fuck out of a movie and nobody does a cranky old racist like Sean Connery - he really makes you believe he's a cranky old racist. The ABZ want you to learn something from this episode..."They pull a knife...

Independence Day (1996)

It's the 4th of July this week ActionBoyz Guyz and Girlz so you know what that means...The Boyz cover a movie that corresponds with holidays on the calendar about 53% of the time.  This week falls into that percentage and the movie is INDEPENDENCE DAY. We got melodramatic acting, made for TV special effects and boring/uninspired creature design and yet somehow this movie is good? Insanely watchable? Fucking shitty? Regardless seeing Harry Connick Jr. try to imitate Dr Martin Luther King ...

Batman Returns (1992)

Thank Crom for Catwoman. Without her, BATMAN RETURNS would be mostly disgusting Penguin and his dumb plan. This movie also benefits from Christopher Walker's weird turn as Max Shreck, and Andrew Bryniarski's truly incredible performance as his son, Chip. The only bummer is that because the movie had so many press conferences in it (at least 18) there was not much time left for Batman in the final cut (less than 4 minutes). Enjoy the last week of Blockbustune, "meantime - the Boyz ha...

Show me sand the floor... show me wax on, wax off, show me paint the fence... now show me listen to the Boyz. THE KARATE KID. What a movie. If you don't like this one Action-Sanz, then you don't like American Cinema and have no business listening to this pod. You better believe the ABZ cover everything from the rules of the All Valley Tournament to what Daniel's mom's new job actually is. Also dirty Yoda makes an appearance. Waterworld (1995)

Are you a smoker, a mariner, a dry land believer, some skeleton parents, or an old man keeping tabs on crude oil? Basically, whatever you are the Boyz got ya covered with this week's film, WATERWORLD. Stanger loved it and argued its merits unconvincingly like a lil' bitch. Gabrus and Rodgers had the appropriate reaction to it. Regardless of what camp you're in this movie is more fun than drinking Costner's purified dad piss and that's saying a lot. BONUS: a new Stanger character is intro...

Money Train (1995)

Maycoy is marching on. This week we got Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes reteaming, we're throwing in a young Jennifer Lopez and we're making em all badass cops working decoy - what could go wrong? Unfortunately... a lot can go wrong. MONEY TRAIN is the movie we are discussing ActionBabyz and it sucks. Robert Blake is putting out a lot of "I'll kill my wife energy" and he seems to not know what movie he's in. Woody and Wesley are riffing some shitty bits and JLo is playing drunk and frankly,...

Nighthawks (1981)

The Boyz decided to watch Stallone fight terrorism this week. That's right ActionBabyz, we're talking NIGHTHAWKS. Three beautiful men make this film really special; the aforementioned Sylvester Stallone, the criminally underused Billy D. Williams and the terrifying Rutger Hauer in a star making turn. Rutger was so good in this, people were demanding more Wulfgar and less Deke - Stanger thinks it made Sly reevaluate shit and Gabrus and Rodgers don't care. This movie represents a time big studi...
