Being an Oni come with several advantages: you've got a massive and sturdy body, an amazing strength and appetite, and most of all, an exceptionnal ability to brawl your way out of most situations, earning scars and respect along the way...
But sometimes there's no way out of brawls without some heavy damages. In her case, she did lost most of her body, and she now tries to get going with her VERY reduced situation.

So my idea is that they kinda control the whole body but have a better synch/skill on their respective side: so by being on the right side, you control better the right arm and right leg.

And both are left-handed... so it's easier for them to be on left side to draw.
