Heat Wave : Mutes

We shot continuously, over the weekend. And you sometimes get to a point where you have energy but not too many ideas for the day. Also, sometimes maybe just a disconnect and freedom to just be truly could be something else. I mean we (me and my muses) will get together, eat, sleep, shoot together over weekends. Also, we take very small breaks in between where we try to find our private spaces to just be, or maybe take a moment to connect to the outside worlds as well. The idea is always to p...

The Heat Wave

we are in the middle of a heat wave, and that made me defer my shoots cos it was too hot, but then not shooting was also making me uneasy and i needed that excitement. so i decided to ask my muses... first one was far off so would not be able to make it, second one called in sick just 3 days before the decided day,,, but i did end up shooting 2 muses, over two days... i prefer to have 2 or more to shoot if i am shooting over a longish period.. cos it gives them time to breath and get some ene...

Fuji Film Sims and a Manual 23 f1.4 lens

This is Kodak Porta 400 Recipe, one of the most popular film for portraits. I am going to try different recipe every couple of months so, will get to decide what works best for me

If you are using a fuji, and also make recipes, i would suggest that you remember to skip the add grain part if you are shooting at ISO 6400 or higher cos it will cause excess grain in the pictures.

The Camera Shy : Tomorrow

An insight into my experiments with Film Simulations. These were with Kodak Porta 400, by far the most popular Film for Portraits. Shot in Natural Sunlight and vibrant skin tones.

The Wallpaper

A series shot with 2 muses, who have never met before. Idea is to create Chemistry by exploiting the human feelings that exist when you meet someone new. This usually seems to fizzle out when you know the person a bit. and a sense of comfort has seeped in ?

Job Hunt

We shot all of previous day, and set out to find some cool outdoors for some pictures. We had absolutely no clue where we would go, armed with a few clothes we just went on a random location hunt.

Leave me Alone

More often than not, processing a picture is like touching a wet paint on the wall. You will take away the beauty and blemish it in a way that only you know. So while I try to shoot as close to what i want, even by adding lights reflectors etc to my shots, when you look at it later there is this reflex to fix small light or exposure or somerhing. But the more strongly you resist, the more it becomes a part of you to accept some shortcomings in a photograph cos life is not meant to be perfect...

What's Cooking : Public Post

What's Cooking.. continued 2

I discussed about my Analogue Heart in a Digital World. I mentioned how developing film rolls especially for nudes is turning out to be a challenge. So I took the next best option, a Manual Focus Lens on Digital Camera, that allowed me Film Style Simulations.

I spent a month shooting flowers, gardens, street, my dog, my car to get a hang of this. When you shoot at very open apertures lack of auto tracking focus will thrown your pictures out of focus at...

my first attempt at two complete strangers together / the pandemic did throw up last minute challenges, once we got started we went all in. i feel blessed when i shoot, when people are not only willing to trust your half baked ideas but go much beyond by contributing ideas as we shot. I remember, after the first wrap up cos Raj was to leave, Arwa said, it does not feel like we shot enough, and then Raj complied and we shot a lot more 😊🎉 we called it T H E C A S U A L S E X

Queen's Bed

We had shot all of day and night, and the plan was to head out to some place outdoor the next morning. Shooting can be tiring for both the photographer and the muses as well, so we had decided that though morning sun is best for some outdoors, we would not start early in the day. We leave when we get up was the call. Also we had no idea of where this outdoor was going to be, so we would leave it to luck.

But these pictures were just after we were up, i had been shooting with a wid...
