DungeonMorphs – Sewers Set 7

One of the final stretch goals of the DungeonMorphs IV Kickstarter was to include an alternate version of the DungeonMorph cards (2.5″ x 2.5″ cards of the geomorphs) in the style of one of the artists involved in the design. That artist was ME! So I spent a month and change redrawing all the geomorphs from their original artists’ styles to my own.

I’m doing these redraws one “die” at a time. The geomorphs have been assigned faces on the DungeonMorph Dice, and I’m translati...

Amnuron’s Hall

Down a flight of circular stairs around a massive central pillar is Amnuron’s Hall – a small complex built up around the circular chamber the stairs descend into and a pillared hall to the south of east of it. Once home to the potent wizard of the same name, the hall is poorly maintained and no longer welcomes guests and visitors as the staff has gradually been replaced with magical automatons and a few potent beasts, with a few of the staff remaining at their duties long after their deat...

Seahorse Island

It’s a wee little set of islands that appears on older navigational charts as “the Lesser Chesten Islands” but generally known by the residents and modern charts as “Seahorse Island”. There really isn’t much geography worth speaking of, and if these islands were at sea instead of in the Galtan Lake, they would be uninhabitable because of the lack of fresh water on the islands proper. The small town subsists off farming and fishing and the “benevolence” of the strange magus in ...

Tiered Pools Cave

This map came about during one of my Twitch livestreams when a viewer asked how I would handle a cave with tiered pools, where water carrying lots of sediment and minerals has slowly worked its way down a cave making tiered pools along the way. So, unlike most of my maps, this piece focuses almost entirely on a single chamber in a larger cave – the tiered pools chamber and a few associated spaces.

The height of the tiers is not specified (as with the scale of the squares, but I genera...

An Alien Tower

It sprouted up in the forest over a few days. At first it looked like a weird mushroom, but now it stands over 300 feet tall, looking out over the canopy with strange holes around the top from whence the denizens fly out, bringing their strange alien terror to the lands about it.

And it isn’t alone, a number of these strange organic growths are beginning to grow elsewhere in the woods – a full-scale invasion by some strange creatures never before seen in this world.

Eleint Passages – The Ruined Fane

This is the final of four interconnected maps of the Eleint Passages and associated structures.

The Ruined Fane sits beneath the northern passages of the Eleint Passages. It is concealed by a secret door that leads to the upper chamber of the fane and which immediately gives a clue as to the status of the structures – with many sections reduced to rubble and ruins. Stairs lead down from above to a nearly completely collapsed great hall which was once the heart of the substruc...

Eleint Passages (The Tower)

This is the third of four interconnected maps of the Eleint Passages and associated structures.

In the connecting cave between the North and South Eleint passages is a set of stairs leading up to the dungeons beneath a tower that sits on the rocky promontory above the caves. These stairs are shown at the south end of the Eleint Passages (North) map and lead to the cavern section of this map. The doors between the caverns and the dungeons under the tower are kept locked and barr...

The Eleint Passages (South)

This is the second of four interconnected maps of the Eleint Passages and associated structures.

The southern portion of the Eleint Passages is more twisted and convoluted than the northern areas and includes significantly more areas that have been cut from the stone and then worked up with masonry – at some point it appears a significant underground fortress was down here, but much of it appears to have been collapsed on purpose using rock to mud spells and perhaps even expl...

The Eleint Passages - North

This is the first of four interconnected maps of the Eleint Passages and associated structures.

The northern portions of the caves are home to a foul tainted wyrm with a breath weapon of foul poisonous gasses – it makes its lair in the chamber at 9 o’clock to the large central chamber but often spends its time laying in the bottom of the pool in the cavern instead, watching through magic for those who would despoil its lair and treasures. But of course, a necromantic dragon has some...

The Uktar Atoll

The Uktar Atoll sits about two days travel by boat from the Eastern Isles of the Dead. These low islands are set with a few hills, a rocky plateau, and a lot of jungles. They’ve been used as a secret pirate stronghold, have been home to a number of strange and esoteric cults, and have a small populace of halflings living on the northernmost isle – descended from the halfling servants that survived an earlier sinking of a pair of pirate ships. One of those ships somehow ended up not quite ...

Beneath the Manor of the Doomed

Beneath the old Chienard Manor can be found both basements (and a once-extensive wine cellar) and the family crypts. Recently these have been expanded upon by what the Chienards can only suspect are their own ancestors turned upon them for a lack of proper worship and respect.

The main basement is accessed via the stairs in the collapsing wing of the house – this part of the basement is in ill repair and is likely to collapse like the building above. The basement’s southern sections...

The old Chienard manor sits on the hills southeast of the fortified town of Smallharbour where it is slowly collapsing while the owners hide in the parts of the structure that are still mostly sturdy. The carriage house is abandoned and part of the floor has collapsed into tunnels beneath it. The north end of the manor has also fallen in on itself, taking both the sitting room and the master bedroom with it. The Chienards are said to be cursed for their lip service to their ancestral gods, th...

The local orcs occasionally catch and train knife-boars for some of the more frightening goblin boar-riders have their own tales about this place and the heavy solid copper skulls found within. The skulls are evidently cursed, and of the 15 originally found within the chambers, 14 have been returned. The fifteenth is believed lost in the lava flow that destroye...

Ruins of the Hill Fort

These ruins are old enough that no one even has a name for them anymore. On several very old maps there are markings that translate to “fort” or “fortification” at this location, but nothing more. If it were any further south it would be completely overrun with trees and growth by now, but on the cold plains of the north, it sits on a wind-swept hill, lonely and slowly collapsing.

The crumbling remains of the main tower is the occasional home for a hill giant that doesn’t fit ...

Once part of the canals that kept the incredible graveyard of Graven-Tosk from flooding, the deep stone-walled canals have slowly collapsed over the years and are now a series of narrow tunnels with narrow gaps above in some cases. On the surface, this area is a set of hills that bound the south end of Graven-Tosk and the five smaller hills each support a towering 15 to 25 foot stone monolith. One of these monoliths appears to be sentient and speaks in a very slow, gravelly voice, warning int...
