Sitting under the dungeons of (insert dungeon location from your campaign here) is an old fighting pit, once used as entertainment for the owners and masters of the dungeon; and punishment for slaves, captives, and traitors.
The actual arenas are on the lower level and are overlooked from the chambers above on each side of the main hall. There are also wide slots in the floor of the main hall that looks down on the preparatory areas and cages that lead into the arenas proper. D...

Continuing up from our earlier post of the ground floor, here is the second level of Marpenoth Hall. As shown, only the east and west wings are two stories, with a pitched roof over the north wing and a smaller roof along the south wall of the courtyard (providing a modicum of cover right along the south wall for those out in the rain).
The east wing is upstairs from Marpenoth Hall proper and consists of private rooms for the family as well as a sitting room overlooking the front entran...

Welcome to Marpenoth Hall, home to the Khohren mercantile house. The structure is divided into three general areas. The west wing is the staff wing with kitchen, scullery, staff room, and pantry. The east wing is Marpenoth Hall proper with tapestries on the walls, a statue of Hushan Khohren, the founder of the Khohren mercantile house, offices and libraries. The single-story north wing connecting the two contains a dining room, lounge, and conservatory as well as access to the courtyard.

“Cleverly” named based on the primary current purpose of this old sinkhole on the outskirts of Lautuntown in the hills of Pantesh – dead goblin hole is where prisoners are tossed when they aren’t needing to face “justice” in more civilized areas. This is mostly raiders from the local goblin tribes and those locals and visiting people who decide to join or aid these lawless little monsters.
The entrance by the top of the stairs is walled and gated and guarded by a couple of t...

This hall was built at the behest of Bradrig, summoner of the great devourer, master of the kraken, lord of the seven isles, and so on and so forth. Completed shortly before his death, he would accept petitioners here where a doppelganger would sit on a high throne and pronounce “the will of Bradrig” Upon his death, his six doppelgangers were immediately slain by staff dedicated to exactly that purpose, and the throne in Bradrig’s Hall was replaced with a statue of the summoner of the g...

Smallharbour is a fortified settlement at the mouth of the Doggerel River which forms a… small harbour. The town’s growth and curtain walls have broken it up into several sections: The Manor at the heart of the city with its own docks and warehouses; Old Town to the immediate south of the manor with the main gates; Newall (New Walls) to the west of Old Town centred around the pentagonal temple of the fisher god; Newall Docks attached to Newall; Northside beyond Newall (with its own docks ...

The ruined “well” in the forested hills is well known to hunters in the area as it stands out as an unusual place for such a well (at the top of a hill instead of in one of the valleys). Actually a ventilation shaft for some deeper construction, the space beneath was only discovered recently when part of the hillside was torn away by the roots of a falling tree exposing a massive chamber within and a series of other rooms and spaces damaged by ages of neglect and water.
These five c...

Here is this month's set of maps in one convenient zip file! This marks the end of the Monday Five Room Dungeons (only have two for this month, maybe I'll bring the series back at another time, but I'll definitely keep drawing one here and there from now on) and we should be seeing two sets of geomorphs every month for... well... another 8 months or so.
Thank you again for your support. YOU mak...

Wow, September got away from me completely!
For the new patrons here, every month we poll to see what maps to re-release that month under a free commercial-use license.
I failed to get that poll out in September, and it is time to release the maps, so here we go, get those votes in and we'll run the September re-releases over the next two Fridays instead (the 7th and 14th).

The five who watch stare forever at each other and at their guide, eternally lost wearing a stone blindfold. These six statues stand on the top level of this odd hexagonal tower-shrine, a weird mystery that is beyond even the greatest sages and legend lore magics.
But mysteries like this attract weirdos… and a number of cults have set themselves up here at one point or another. The current resident weirdos are “The Creed of Streksus” who have decorated all the statues with flowing...

One of the final stretch goals of the recent DungeonMorphs IV Kickstarter was to include an alternate version of the DungeonMorph cards (2.5″ x 2.5″ cards of the geomorphs) in the style of one of the artists involved in the design. That artist was ME! So now that all the different geomorph designs are in for each die, I’m in the process of redrawing the various designs in my style.
I’m doing these redraws one “die” at a time. The geomorphs have been assigned faces on the Dun...

Dorron’s Tower isn’t so much a tower as an ascending dungeon structure. There are two entrances into the structure – one leads into the buttressed central chamber where Dorron’s Emerald used to sit on a plinth mounted on the central dais. Around the chamber are a number of small “windows” that ascend in a spiral pattern along the walls between the buttresses – each allowing people in the upper chambers to look down upon the central chamber and the emerald.
The second entra...

A day’s walk south of GravelThorpe is a gully cut into the soil by the Karaczun – a stream of runoff from the melting glacier that once covered the ruins of the dwarven citadel of Urul-Dar. The gully here is home to a small set of caves and some enterprising halflings from the town had used the location as a base of operations to pan for artifacts in the stream.
They would find the occasional interesting bit of dwarven stonework as well as a pair of cut and polished rubies, and even...

Named after the sounds of the brook that runs through these caves, the Burbling Subterrane is primarily a series of gallery caverns with a smaller cave complex cut into a memorial in the depths. The first cave is a gallery that almost resembles gapped teeth across the opening, with five gaps between the rocks leading into the cave proper. The brook burbles through these “teeth” to a pool in the second gallery and then down a series of steps to the mushroom chamber beneath.

The idols…
Creepy wide-eyed, pointy-toothed stone idols keep popping up in fields, kitchens, midden heaps… Each about three feet tall, an idol appears once every five to ten years in the village and no one knows why. But they all match one old idol found at the bottom of a nearby cave, now known as the Idol Pit.
When an idol is found in the village, a procession is started to bring the idol and the finder to the cave and then descend down to the lowest flooded level where a sm...

The great oracle Xeeus spoke to supplicants through the giant face built into the first of the octagonal chambers of the sanctuary… well, actually disciples of Xeeus would use the face to speak down to supplicants below, and occasionally would invite heroes and special supplicants to meet Xeeus itself.
But at some point the Paladin Kheros brought a band of hardy adventurers through here and trashed the Sanctuary in an attempt to slay Xeeus. The town was destroyed in the fighting, and ...

First of all, I definitely have a predilection to having standing stones / pillars / menhirs / etc at the entrances to my five room dungeons. With that out of the way…
The Pride’s Circle is a set of standing stones on the edge of the Middlemark Woods. On the south side of the Temperance Stone is a two-and-a-half-foot gap that leads down a s...

A strange gate to distant lands is under the badlands near Fort Redshield. Stairs lead down to a cavern / sinkhole that is partially open to the sky above. The bottom of the space contains a pool that is refreshed by the rains and occasionally overflows in inclement weather, leading to the flooding of the cavern to the west which has a near-perpetual pool of scummy stagnant water in it.
In the southern cave are a number of near-perfect spheres protruding from the cave walls. These iride...
