Color test and some details on the Meushi redesign. I probably have a lot I can say about this - but mainly I think this works way better for both her personality and character as well as making her more interesting for me personally. This year for Meushi's birthday I decided to update her design: change her hairstyle and darken it to a darker reddish-brown than it was before. Trying to hint more at a 90's transforming hero character.
Also Poisonwind originally launched in 2002 which makes her 18 this year so I decided to make it a more risque illustration than the usual.
I honestly like this look a lot more for her than the outdated one I clung to all that time. She was due for a remodel. Might still tweak it ...

This post is going to serve as multipurpose. The idea of me posting comic scripts as part of the WIP stuff for the patreon was brought up, and it WOULD serve as an additional perk for the patreon. What started as an art trade with Erasure escalated into my Valentine's Illustration for this year. Coloring and shading Mari (and especially) Slime-kun was a great exercise as well. This also saves me if I can't come up with anything special in time to draw with Meushi and can get away with a simple draw of her this year.

Heavy Lifting and everyone is helping! Especially Candice!
New shading style is coming together nicely, was a little worried about this one for quite a while as I was working on it, but I really like the final result: Candice came out really well - her pallet works especially well with the light and shadows for the composition (important to remember for later). These two January illustrations didn't get finished in time so I am going to keep working on them this weekend and see if I can finish them up as quickly as possible.

This month was spent mostly trying to recover from December as well as setup stuff for the next projects moving forward. The great part of that is that there are a ton of design stuff and gestures in the art dump. The bad part is that I'm late with two illustrations this month and need to finish them over the weekend. Not a very detailed one. A lot of these ref sheets just need to be good enough for the upcoming comics so I can stay on model with the characters.

Breaking back into work mode with an actually Illustration of Candice sporting her Therapy Cow logo. This picture really made me realize that the work on her design has paid off: max mom energy and definitely has the right personality and feel for the character.

Just some simple design sketches while I work on some script and organization stuff for the new projects. Had to take a bit of a break to recover from overworking myself but warming back up now.

Not sure if I am completely happy with it, but doing some work on Candice's design. I have always had a really hard time working with her hair: as her original design worked, but the way I drew her floof made it look less like floof and more like a plastic cloud. Giving her Ko's haircut has the complication of making it harder for me to use the haircut for the NEU incarnation of Ko, who is the actual Ko. Strange hangup but got me to focus a bit on trying to get her foof to work better.

Ok so last year was really good for me in terms of progress. And I would like to keep that positive momentum going forward.
