I think working on that Witch piece has me all excited about different ways of having people touch each other.

I'm also getting into the potential for the less historical potential of the Greek/Amazons explorations. I'm not a scholar of Greco Roman literature or anything but I can definitely see myself playing with some of the mythological characters, especially if I can play more fast and loose with the rules. I'll be honest I just wanna draw Medusa.

Astronaut

Finished this one! 😰 Oh boy did it take way longer than I hoped/anticipated. I found myself really stuck on  how to update/push it. Mostly I just settled on giving more love to her hair with this version, a stronger sense of weighty motion, more like she's in water than in zero gravity.

I'm a big fan of Guillaume Singelin's science fiction art. It  kinda comes from a place of chibi-ifying a grungy, complex Ridley Scott x Katsuhiro Otomo vision of the future. It's very cute...

Witches Work

I've been working on this one over the course of the past week and I think I'm mostly done so I'm sharing it now. I might tweak the colors some going forward but I think detail wise it's got more than enough, maybe too much.

For that reason I've done a lot of crops to show some of the little bits and pieces close up.

Libby&Holly Ch2 Pg1-4 revise Roughs

This is one of those moments where I've been wanting to fix something that's irked me for a while. I was never quit pleased with how my current page 2 reads and I wanted to try inserting some space to lead into the storm.

I think I was trying to be too clever having a big thunder clap in a small space that really reads more like the tree is breaking, which was not my intention. Adding another page in between will give me some room to show the storm brewing.

In preparation for the show I've been taking some older works that were fine, and revisiting them to kinda embellish or complicate them. This piece is a fancied up version of a drawing I made in 2020. I think it might need more complicating still, but we'll see.

Sketch Collection

Happy Friday everyone! I've been a little dissatisfied with my sketchbook stuff this month, it just hasn't been flowing like last month, but this week has been going a bit more smoothly.
