As much as i was hoping to release this mod on the 20th, cutscene work and bugs, on top of having to record the big video its unrealistic that it would be out on 2 days, i'm looking into a 1-2 week delay to get everything sorted out which should be plenty of time. The most complete build of the mod i have so far. Includes the new Shinada cutscenes, one Haruka cutscene was remade, all encounter dynamic intros now have co-op variations, dance battle start intro for co-op. Hey everyone! I'll be releasing what is probably the near final version (unless i make any addittions) on the 14-15th, the mod comes out on 20th. I still have around 3-4 cutscene ideas on my head (particularly around Shinada-Akiyama/Haruka chapters) and i hope i can do them before release. One of the youtube comments suggested that i add a setting to make Ichiban AI controlled (which kinda defeats the purpose of the mod, dont you think?) but considering that this is more than just a mod that spawns a second player, in that sense that it has its own cutscenes, action sequences and movesets, it made sense to add that feature. When this setting is enabled, Ichiban will assist you in battles and also appear in any minigames, not all co-op cutscenes may play but most of them will

Here are the current tag teams i have for the mod (some need SFX and VFX work) i'm thinking when Yakuza 5 co-op comes out next month, i'll balance my time and effort around Yakuza 3 co-op and Like A Brawler Kiwami (remaking the yakuza 7 brawler mod with knowledge i have from Like a Brawler 8)

I knew i said i would drop a update soon, but i have decided to delay it till his moveset is ready . Not much is left other than adding some basic effects, improving hit strength and improving Ichiban's sounds (preventing things like Ichiban shouting KURAE or OURYAHH twice in a row)

Working on a script that automatically converts a Dragon Engine moveset onto Yakuza 5 (in this instance, Ichiban's Like A Brawler 8 moveset) and the result is not bad at all, just a few improvements and the thing will mostly be finished and i just need to do the finishing touches like fixing up any animation bugs

I recently found out how to give Ichiban a custom moveset for the co-op mod, just making a poll to see what moveset people would like to see him use
Not to worry, there will be a setting in the mod that lets you give him any moveset you want (including current player) this is just the default moveset he is gonna have.

I initially intended to keep this as a very basic mod but the outpouring support from you guys has enabled me to pay animators and turned this mod to the same ambitious giant Like A Brawler 8 was (maybe even more ambitious!), Janfon1 is doing an AMAZING job and continues to make new custom co-op cutscenes that don't mess with the narrative of the game of course. Just a small hotfix file for Yakuza 5 co-op. This removes ichiban from dance practices and idol battles which can prevent you from progressing the game when you finish them. Unfortunately at this moment i havent been able to fix the softlocking problem so removing it for the time being, i have a few ideas on how to fix it and if they dont work chances are Ichibum will not be returning for those segments. Install this on top of 1.02b, overwrite the files

This update updates some of the cutscenes in the Akiyama chapter and adds a new one. Also fixes the mod forgetting the input device type for player 1 when using two controller setups

Hey everybody! Hopefully the mod will be updated with new cutscenes soon. Janfon1 recently joined the mod team to make custom cutscene animations for the mod and they have been AMAZING! I have also been reading your bugreports and fixing them and if everything goes accordingly to plan, the mod will be out fully in 1-2 months for everybody and then we'll be moving right to Yakuza 3 Co-op! One of the complaints was that it was really difficult to navigate small areas because it would frequently clip out of the wall. I also took the opportunity to improve that a little so that the camera can get even closer to the player when they are standing close to eachother
A reminder that you can and will be able to edit camera settings in the mod ini file. I also added more settings for that in the upcoming update

Hello gamers. I got my xbox 360 controller today and i have been able to fix the controller bug. There is also a 70% chance the mod will now support two controllers (i've had success with Xbox 360 and some cheap gamepad) hopefully i'll be able to release the update soon!

Hello guys, some of you have reported that Xbox controllers dont work with the mod. And i have tested it with several people and can verify that the mod does not take inputs from xbox controllers right now. Current workaround is to emulate it as a dualshock controller with DS4Windows. I have ordered a xbox 360 controller and i'm just waiting for it to be delivered so i can look into fixing it.
