School Reunion, part 6 - Sketches

Part 6 presented quite a few different opportunities for illustrations - the restaurant, the taxi journey back in which Andrew's buttons pop off, or even Andrew and Tommy's argument or Tommy wandering sullenly alone, or of course the pair's bedroom activities, but in the end I opted to draw the shower scene because I liked how raw and vulnerable I could have them looking in this moment, without inhibitions but still not being entirely open with each other yet. School Reunion, part 5 - Sketches

It took me a little while to settle on the best angle to depict this scene at. Fat men in baths are still quite tricky for me to draw! Funny how they seem to keep cropping up in stories here lately haha.

With the release of 'SPOILED 2' coming later this year, I've begun refamiliarising myself with sketching Arthur Sweet and Manni Dey.

School Reunion, part 4 - Sketches

I had a pretty clear idea of how I wanted this image to look - cosy, intimate, with Andrew displaying some vulnerability and Tommy looking like he knows just how to handle it (Ie. Beer!). The story does say that it looks as though Andrew has lost some weight, but I took a little bit of artistic license in filling Mr Davies' shirt with a big belly, still - I guess I can't help myself sometimes!

Somehow, I lost sight of Andrew in the crowd. After an hour of fruitlessly searching the auction house, I had to sadly admit defeat and called a cab to take me home.
