Every once in a while you feel yourself having a breakthrough while working on a project. FOUL PLAY 2 was one of those times.
The zany tickle-obsessed Holly Humphries and her INSANELY MEAN AND TICKLISH BOSS was enough to push me in different directions. It continues to be one of those comics that I look back on with nostalgia.
And I still find the tickling between these two to be INTENSELY HAWT! LOL.
COULD TUSK GET ANY MEANER??? The plans she has to UTTERLY DISMANTLE the gorgeous Rebecca Holstein by creating her PERFECT TICKLE ENCOUNTER…IN FRONT OF HER OWN HELPLESS DAD…would make VICTORIA VULTURE feel sheepish. And that gal once tickle tortured an entire bus full of nuns just for FUN!

One of the things that I really pushed myself on with this comic was the way I render hair. I really wanted to put a ton of time into it. And the more I did the more I found that the flow and shape of the characters’ hairstyles actually helped tall a part of the story. As I inked this page I focused a lot on all that. :)

This comic is all about the chemistry between certain characters. Obviously the reactions created between Tusk and beautiful billionairess Rebecca Holstein are front and center. Pablo Churin is one of the most talented artists that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. The guy is so skilled, so committed, and such a wonderful human being! Certain character pairs define a series. This was definitely the case with VAMP RECORDS! In fact, here at MTJ Publishing we enjoyed the ‘rivalry-turned-romance’ relation ship with Crystal and Val SO MUCH that we asked a few other artists to try their hands at it.

This is the second panel I laid out for the whole comic. And between us chickens…I kind of fell in love with it. I haven’t ever drawn Fontucci in my own style. And I haven’t ever drawn Don the Dentist either. In fact, I rarely draw dudes at all (except for the occasional Poe drawing). So, this was a huge challenge for me.

This will be obvious to anyone who has watched my stuff for awhile…but I really dig erotic stories that develop over time (rather than just one off comics). TIS was originally written as a sprawling story of Dusty versus Koki and their ticklish rivalry.
