430 The Dark Blood Cult

Denizens of the Tower!

Little is known of an evil human-centric cult that has a hidden lair in the forests a few days from the capital, Crimsonwall. The zealot cult members attack travelers on the western road, dispossess them, and then sacrifice them in obscure rituals to gain immunity to a local affliction.

The forces of the law in Crimsonwall have not yet decided what to do since the cult's lair must be too close to the itinerant parade's route to be safe. In reality, they are ...

429 Barrowstream

Traveler!

Barrowstream is the farthest north settlement in the Brukesian Duchy. It is located by the Dew River shores in a 10-mile-wide hilly region in the middle of the Misty Forests. The road south leads to the Ashen Citadel and continues on to Crimsonwall. It is a four-day-ride to the capital by following the main road.

Barrowstream is a fortified town with a 20-foot-tall stone wall. Lord Lucas Hargen, a seasoned veteran, is charged with the region and its people’s safety. View Post

Here's the .psd file for 429 Barrowstream. Notice that it is necessary to have Photoshop to use it. Inside you will find that it is all white. That is the uppermost layer, I only use it to make the file preview smaller in size. Once you remove that uppermost layer you'll see the illustration. (it's just one click)

Most of the illustration elements are properly named and arranged in folders in the layer area. Some assets like textures or smart objects have been rasterize...

A Dark Fey Prison! 25x24

Traveler!

Prison of Petals is about a horrible prison built by humans. The current ruler of the Brukesian Duchy isn't proud of what his great-grandfather did. The now-abandoned prison used to keep Dewborn war prisoners. The court wizard back then would take advantage of the Dewborn imprisonment to do arcane experiments.

The fey who had the misfortune to end up in the Prison of Petals were slowly drained from their life force. Being immortal beings, this was a painful and demanding...

This adventure is about exploring ancient elven ruins. They contain a large font with the statue of a nymph resting on the water's surface. The beautifully engraved walls of the font's chamber tell the story of its creation. The elves have been gone for thousands of years but the font remains.

There is treasure to be found in this place. Nevertheless, four elves who were buried here are tasked with the protection of the place. Their minds have turned dark and corrupted a...

426 The Sword Vault

Traveler, we just published a short D&D adventure!

In the northern reaches of the Brukesian Duchy, the capital has almost no power. This beyond the Misty Forests and only the soldiers from the Ashen Citadel ever patrol it. The land belongs to the druids in the area that gather close to Thorny Hill, a mysterious place that has strange magical enhancing properties.

Little do the druids know that the source of the arcane properties of Thorny Hill is a legendary sword buried more ...

Team grows!

Denizens of the Tower!

A quick announcement, for a long time Elven Tower has only been me, Derek. But I'm at a point where I'm spread too thin trying to juggle all the things that I do.

For the past few months, I've worked in tandem with Arthur Rouise on some projects. Now he joins the Elven Tower team as an official member. He's going to help with a lot of stuff behind the curtains, like social media, product placement, managing the stores, illustrating original stock art, among ...

Partial Update - Brukesian Duchy Hexcrawl

Happy New Year, Denizens of the Tower!

As voted by most of you, we'll continue adding detailed locations to the hex-map through January. So far, there's the regional map, the traveling rules, and 9 hexes.

I've compiled all this in a single partial PDF so that everything is in a single place. It's 50 pages worth of content so far. I hope you like it, I've also added some extra pieces of public domain art to fill in the blanks.

Greenhill, a farming settlement next to the forest!

Traveler!

Big cities attract big problems. Simple people prefer simpler lives. Greenhill was settled soon after Crimsonwall became too large to sustain itself.

Lord Libbot is the current ruler. Due to his relationship with myconids, they roam freely among the fields. The fungi people’s presence is a controversial issue for the farmers of Greenhill. There isn’t much they can do though. Lord Libbot has many myconid friends and disregards any complaint about them.

424 Crescent Moon Dagger

Traveler!

Two thousand years ago, when the Dewborn crossed the gate between worlds and came to the Material Plane, they brought with them a formidable foe. Back then, mighty Dewborn warriors incapacitated the monster and locked it in a magical prison. They decided to build a key for that prison and keep it in a different location.

That key is called The Crescent Moon Dagger. Its dented blade is the key. The Dewborn built a vault to keep the key safe. Unfortunately, after so long, ...

About the hexcrawl project?

Hi, Denizens of the Tower!

Merry holidays to you and your loved ones!

This month I created the regional map for the Brukesian Duchy and I'll have 9 detailed locations done by the end of the year. I think this was an awesome creation project and it is great now.

Now I have the choice of continuing through January detailing more interesting locations from the hex map or wrap it up and call it a day.

What is your opinion on this?

A tomb for forgotten heroes, now enraged!

Traveler!

A fey race built a tomb to honor seven zealot warriors. They owe them their current court of opulent spending and debauchery. Alas, the fey race of the Dewborn have forgotten all about the valiant sacrifices of the bygone zealots. The spirits are enraged by the shameful forgetfulness of their kin. They were insulted. With the passage of centuries, these feelings of anger have twisted them into undead forms that cannot leave the tomb but will unleash their darkness upon unwary ...

Visit the Abyss of Spiritual Ascension!

Traveler!

Beyond the woods, near the Misty Mountains Skirts, hides an ancient Dewborn sacrificial site. This adventure describes the sadistic tradition of throwing war prisoners into a pitch-black pit, only to be eaten by a horrendous and amorphous beast.

The realm of men ignores these nasty practices. Having information about this could result beneficial to the duchy and the Brukesian army nevertheless. Perhaps a reconnaissance mission isn't as crazy as it sounds.
