As I've gotten older, I've been trying to focus on compromise. When it comes to drawing, I have always been my biggest critic and I spent my formative creative years chasing perfection - if I didn't think the work was as good as that artist who's been doing it professionally for 20 years that I looked up to, then it was garbage and so was I (I was always very dramatic). But I've learned a lot about my creative self since then, I've learned that shooting for a spot that's halfway betw...

My goal for the new 12-Inch Roommate is tighter sitcom-like stories, more relatable characters and beating this one-dimensional porn scenario concept into the ground in a smarter way.
These are some super ruff thoughts for Kevin and Leo - formerly Kenny and Leo. They have new looks but they're still the power and bossy bottoms (respectively) that readers know and love - hopefully moreso.

Followpack was a project I came up with to legitimize my obsessive following of Instahunks online. I thought it'd be a good way to hone my caricature skills. I don't do them as often as I like and I also, sometimes, when I sit down to focus on one, it just doesn't get there.
But this morning was different, I started doodling @arranaro and an hour later, I had this. It's not as cartoon-ish as I would like, but I liked the result. So, I'll be posting on IG later tonight.

This was the farthest I ever got with animating a 12-Inch Roommate short. It's based on one of my legendary storyboard ruffs I posted on Meatcute many, many years ago.
I was once told: "I checked out your work last night... there's so much semen in it!" So I tried to stay the trueist and gooiest to form as possible.
FYI - If Youtube catches on they'll probably yank this.

Jockstrap Academy began as a something called Jockland. And I call it "something" because it wasn't much more than a series of characters built around archetypes. When I started 12-Inch Roommate, I borrowed the JL cast (everyone except for Chad for some reason). So when JL evolved into JA I felt that I needed to at least make Matt, Leo, Kenny (the stars of 12-Inch) 12-Inch exclusives, and cast new characters to fill their roles in JA. So Matt, Leo and Kenny...

This is Trigger. Alongside Cannen and Gunnar, he's one of my gang-of-three all-purpose supporting jock characters. Trigger started out as a blank slate - just generic WASPy jock character but after doing a deep dive back into 80's college sex comedies I updated his profile to this:
Name: Ralph "Trigger" Ploughwright
Jersey Number: 20
House: Kappa Phi Kappa
Position: Wide Receiver
Accent: Boston or Mid-Atlantic
Role: Frat Constable, Secretary of Alpha Council
Frat...

I've also been tweaking old designs for "Jockstrap Academy" - this really is something that should be done after the storyboard process, because if you don't have a story, what's the point? However, I like a good sit-down-and-procrastinate while-nitpicking-over-a-character design sesh.
Cannen is based on the character of the same name in an 80's b-movie called "Wimps". In the movie, he's the token black character - as 80's movies were wont to do - and I'll admit, that's where he s...

Still working through my new design for Matt for my 12-Inch Roommate reboot. The original was conceived as something I could create spontaneously, sometimes drawing the images first and then writing the script after. The result is debatable - some people love it, some people hate it - but for me; I recognize that while there are some missed opportunities, there's also some fun moments that benefited from me not overthinking.
But this time around, I want to make something a little more t...
